Great climbs for road bikes
Sep 2021 • Business
Climbed The Cut, Wolftrap and Glendine with road bike - really tough going especially Glendine. You will feel a sense of achievement when completed!

Hiking trails with superb scenery, wildlife and very few people.

Wonderful scenery and sense of remoteness in this wilderness. We walked the Slieve Bloom Way over 2 days and stayed at Giltraps pods in Kinnitty which worked out well. For a B&B option Ardmore House is a hidden gem just up the road.

Horrific
Jun 2021 • Couples
Too rocky. Too many tree stumps. Too much tree coverage (a.k.a no sun), walkways very easily allow for boyfriends to rugby tackle you to ground. Nice brownies in cafe though.

Monicknew Forest
May 2021 • Friends
Did a 7.5km walk through Monicknew forest which is part of the Slieve Bloom mountains. Breath taking scenery, amazing views, out and about in nature a perfect day.

Too High

A bit high of a place this. Can’t understand why there is no lift. This mountain needs to be brought up to date badly. Screw Flanders

One of Ireland's wonderful Drives
Sep 2020 • Couples
This drive is easily missed by following Google maps. Well worth the detour to experience the great views through the mountains. Spectacular view from the top down the valley.
Lots of side roads ,walks and cycle routes through the forest and by the rivers, streams and waterfalls.

Monicknew Valley Walks
Sep 2020 • Friends
Well signposted with good paths, but be advisable to wear good shoes as common sense. Beautiful scenery, & plenty of choices for walks. We took the green route from Monicknew valley which took 1 hour & then the blue riverside route which was half an hour. We stopped to admire the stone bridge and commented that it felt like we were in The Shire.

The nature at its best
Aug 2020
With only 20 mins drive from home you can explore Slieve Bloom Mountains with a breathtaking scenery. Plenty of nice walking routes for the whole family with plenty of fresh water streams and waterfall (do try the water!)
The paths are usually well maintained so it will be accessible for families with small children as well.
