Very fun Long Beach mostly fine sand but some small rocks in some places easy to walk many Restaurants where you can stop. Food is inexpensive and very good in general. Watch out for rip tide Good for surfing but a bit of a problem for swimmers on west end there is a life guard Try nude bar on west end

The beach is long and beautiful with Rocky bluffs in the distance. The surf is rough so it is risky to swim here. It is a clothing optional beach. About a third of the visitors are nude. There are restaurants scattered along it where you can get out of the sun but otherwise, there are no shady spots.

We were worried that the beach wouldn't be nice after the hurricanes last year, but, the beach is awesome and there are alot more places to eat and drink along the beach than we anticipated. Loved this place and would go back. We were there for 10 days and went in the waves and water everyday. Also like to walk down to "Lover's Beach" as it is more secluded behind a wall of rock, but, easier to swim past the breakwater.

Lovely place. Little village with a great beach where you can meet nude people walking or taking the sun.

Zipolite is magical. It's truly one of the most laid-back, peaceful, beautiful places I've been to. From experience, I'd say the west end of the beach tends to be more crowded and a bit more family-friendly, while the further east you go, the more sparse (and naked) it gets. Playa Del Amor is probably your best bet for a gorgeous sunset - it's also the gay nude beach, so be prepared to feel a bit out of place if you're either straight, clothed, or both.

It feels like a safe space - body-positive, nude-friendly, gay-friendly, yoga-friendly, hippie-friendly, definitely weed-friendly. There are tons of opportunity for reflexion, introspection, and relaxation. Bring a book or two, lots of sunscreen, and get your pesos in advance (the town has two ATMs that often run out) - and you're set.

The waves are a little intense everywhere in Zipolite - high surf and strong undertow, so be careful in the water.

Our second visit in 6 months and just love this place! If you can't relax here you can't relax. The sound of the pounding surf, sunrise and sunset line up perfectly with the ends of the beach on our November trip (they were over the hills in May) great food no matter where you stop, soft sand, cheap beer, and no clothes no problem! Going back for 3 weeks in February!

My partner and I visited Zipolite recently: Not only the beach is beautiful, but walking naked with no tabbos, felt very safe, and the people there welcome everyone, a very special and inviting place!

I've been to Mexico 7 times now -- from the Baja to the Yucatan, from Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo to Oaxaca, including most of the beaches from Puerto Escondido to Huatulco -- and I think that Playa Zipolite just may be my favorite beach of all. The rocky headlands on both ends are picturesque and the pounding surf is wonderful--not to mention the amazing sunsets every night, particularly at the west end of the beach between the rocks. And it's just the right length to take a couple of nice strolls every day from one end to the other and get some great exercise. The various places to eat and stay right on the beach offer a nice variety, and the charming stretch of shops and restaurants on the pedestrian street one block off the beach are a nice diversion in the evenings. And its situation in the center of a string of beaches from Ventanilla to Puerto Angel and Playa Estacahuite make it the perfect point to explore the whole area by taking short and inexpensive taxis anywhere you want to go. Even if you're not a nudist or hippie, there is a real sense of freedom and joy at this beach, and it's the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. I was only here 3 days, and even though I typically don't make return visits to places I travel to because there's just so much of the world to explore and only so much time, I can easily see coming back to Zipolite on a regular basis for a week at a time.

A "free beach" and unofficially nudist for more than 30 years before nudity was legalized in 2016, Playa Zipolite is the best place for social nudity in the country. The numerous nude sunbathers, and the long tradition, make it safe for nudity. Annually since 2016, on the first weekend of February, Zipolite has hosted Festival Nudista Zipolite[3] organized by Federación Nudista de México and the local hoteliers' association.

Playa Zipolite is the dream location to enjoy a sunny day. White sand and enough space for everyone. Ideal for long walks along the water. Leave your bathing suit at home, you won‘t need it. Numerous posadas with restaurants directly on the beach.
