Lovely that this castle is free and has a great playground too. We were able to take part in a (pay-for) short archery session, which kept us occupied. The tea room is quite simple so don’t expect much, although a short mini-golf course is an...More

Beautiful castle and so peaceful. Very nice that dog friendly so we all can walked around together. The weather was so good and we spend time all day there, perfect for kids as there a playground outside castle and crazy golf inside castle. The downside...More

Visited Caldicot Castle with while staying with my parents on a visit to UK. Loved the casual atmosphere, and the summery feeling of the historic place, with kids running around in the sun and families having picnics in the sunshine.

With free parking and no admission costs, I wasn't expecting much from Caldicot Castle. It's great, though. Parts of the original, thirteen century walls are ruined, but the gatehouse was restored by a wealthy Victorian and there's a wealth of history to explore. We went...More

Wow, free parking and castle entry. Lots to see, there are lots of steps to climb, but worth it for the views of the unspoilt surrounding area, and Severn bridge.

Delightful park and castle to accidentally come across...we had an interesting time here as it’s all set up for local, or anyone to go and play there. School holidays there were many children, supervised by teenager students, (I guessed), parents relaxing nearby. It was great...More

We enjoyed our visit here. There is quite a lot to explore round the site and one tower has information boards about the last owners and another tower has furniture and you can go to the top for a good view of the castle and...More

Another Welsh Castle, free admission and with an interesting hoody war history. The children played chess and mini golf in the grounds and ran around playing tag. A fun visit

This is a very beautiful castle, inside and out, it's well worth a visit and explore, the grounds surrounding the castle are lovely too with a large duck pond to take the children as well.

We saw dogs inside on our visit....not sure if they would be allowed inside the rooms though. Lots of lovely walks for them in the grounds :)

There is a free car park just inside the grounds, next to the castle and children's park area.
