Les Gorges de Daluis is part of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, located a bit south to Guillaumes - it is about 30 minutes drive from Castellane northward, following road D955 along lake castilon, N202 eastwards direction of Annot, and after 7 kms. north on road D902.

The gorge is national reserve arranged with great care to enable traffic both directions on narrow road with lots of small tunnels, while each curve expose you to magnificent views of the unique different brown rocky terrain, combined with rich natural plant mix along the Daluis at height of the Alp's, a must see site, worth special planning and even deviation from your original route in case not planned ahead !!

The truth is we originally planned to visit the Verdon, and at last minute decision decided to do the Daluis first... for us, without any question, the Daluis is far more interesting and unique...

Take a look at the photo's, but go there yourself - you won't regret !

Whenever we are in Guillaumes, we always drive through the Gorges de Daluis, and the tunnelled roads and rocks never fail to delight. They have clearly done a lot of work here over the years and the drive is certainly nowhere near as “hairy” as it used to feel. This time round, we went to the fortified village of Entrevaux near the south end of the gorge, and it really is a village worth visiting.

And to complete the perfect drive, we came back up through the Gorges du Cian, and without wishing to court controversy, I reckon that Cian is a more dramatic and beautiful gorge than Daluis - so do give that one a go as well.

Absolutely stunning, we drove through in a Autotrail Mobile home and it was fine. The views are incredibly and not to be missed. Well worth going out of your way for although may be a bit hair raising if you have a fear of hights.

A very pleasant hike, around 10 km, a slightly difficult route but what beauty! The canyon and the cliffs that surround it are sublime!
