We were assigned Chalky as an instructor at Beaver Creek for my two sons (ages 18 and 12). He did an such an incredible job with both, particularly my younger son, that we signed him up for more private lessons with Chalky at Vail and Beaver Creek. He was patient, understanding, creative, fun, and truly understood how to communicate the concepts of skiing to my sons (this is coming from a former ski instructor...who knows better than to teach family! Lol). I highly recommend Chalky as a ski instructor and am happy to provide this well-earned 5 star review. Sincerely, Rick J. Ragsdale

I recently skied with Chalky after purchasing his book the 7 Secrets of skiing. Chalky more than lives up to his reputation as being one of the world's great ski instructors. Very quickly Chalky was able to help me achieve a more powerful stance which helped me prolong my skiing day - no thigh burn. Thank you Chalky, hope to ski with you again soon.

Just spent 3 days on the slopes with Chalky where he has managed to take my ski-ing to another level. Having spent years stuck as a nervous intermediate, with my main problem being my stance and balance Chalky was able to correct my problems using his 7 Secrets of Skiing technique. Chalky was able to break things down for me and explain where I was going wrong and what I needed to do to correct things in a way that numerous lessons over the years have failed to do. Thank you, Chalky for your patience, help and your wonderful chat. I've never laughed so much while skiing before!

I skied with Chalky for the second time this year, in Les Arcs, and he really is an inspiring teacher with a gift for explaining things. The real thing for me is that he completely understands the dynamics of skiing and how to put them across. From a "stuck intermediate" he has rebuilt my skiing completely on sound foundations so that I now feel I can see a way (maybe in a few years...) to ski really well. His fundamental mantra is that balance is everything, and it works. No more "bend ze knees", just explanations of what you are doing wrong and why it is wrong, followed by an explanation of what you need to do to put it right. And it works. If you feel your skiing is going nowhere, that you are stuck as I was, give him a try - you will be amazed at the results (and no I am not being paid for this review!).

Others have said that Chalky White is one of the world’s best ski instructors. After my recent experience, those comments are accurate. I am now a confident, efficient skier thanks to Chalky White. I’ve discovered skills within me that can ski almost any place or resort worldwide on his, ‘Ski the World with Chalky White’ program. Before meeting Chalky I’d skied a few times and taken a few group lessons, but I was a skier that lacked confidence, skills and suffered trepidation. I struggled going down the easiest runs. Skiing is a fantastic sport you can enjoy your entire life; it places you in nature and clears your mind. But it certainly is difficult to enjoy if you are constantly on your backside or slowing down your group of friends. I wanted to enjoy skiing. I didn’t. But, I do now! I found Chalky’s best selling book, "The 7 Secrets of Skiing" on Amazon. After reading the first three secrets, I reached out to Chalky and skied with him; positive things happened very quickly. To summarize: Chalky does not believe in a right and wrong method of skiing, but rather an efficient and less so method. He says that you can ski how you like, there are no rules with regard to technique, but much more fun and satisfaction is gained when ways are used when the skier begins to use body and equipment to the greatest advantage. I soon began feeling the advantages of those ‘advantages.’ From the moment we stepped onto the mountain, I knew Chalky was unlike any other ski instructor I’d met. I just knew I was finally on my way to becoming a confident, efficient skier. By the second day, I was an entirely different skier. Each day, Chalky built upon concepts from the day before - the same concepts he outlines in "The 7 Secrets of Skiing." He always communicated clearly and was always extremely positive. Chalky understood my capabilities and me; he never put me in a compromising or intimidating position. His approach is methodical; he always chose the appropriate ski run to master the simple skill at hand. "The 7 Secrets of Skiing" system simplifies skiing. It presents the sport in simple terms that establish efficient technical skills as easily remembered building blocks. The result of Chalky's approach is success. Soon I was skiing down advanced runs and, by the end of the week, I was making my way, confidently and efficiently, down runs which previously would have scared me. In a few days, I amassed skills that friends who have skied for many years still lack. Chalky never let me forget the purpose behind my endeavor: To have fun and enjoy the sport. Chalky, I look forward to soon skiing with you again at another one of your worldwide destinations. Thanks for your patience, your jokes, and your help in transforming me into a confident, efficient skier - who can enjoy the sport and dominate the mountain!
