Had a great time in a clean and inviting atmosphere. I would definitely go here again. The scenario we chose was a great storyline and made the overall experience fun. If you're in the Vail/Avon area and need an indoor activity, this is the place to go.

The five of us tried an escape room for the first time. The group ranged from 10 to 74 years old. Each of us had a wonderful time working together to "Save the World!" We worked together and accomplished our goal. The story and the room were well-done. The game-master was helpful in preparing us for the task.

We decided to take our kids (13 & 15) to their first escape room. My husband and I have been to several and thought they would enjoy it. The host for the day acted annoyed that we were there. My son used a key that wasn’t the actual key for a lock (although it still opened easily) and the host accused him of using “excessive force.” It definitely wasn’t, the lock has been used a lot and would open easily with just about anything. It really damped the experience for all of us.

My first time in ER and I loved it. Of the 3 adults we had Harvard, Stanford, a PHD candidate and I have MA plus we all have state credentials. We needed one extra minute and the kids were thinking, deciding, cooperating the whole hour. Highly recommend.

This was most of our groups first escape room experience. The place was fine and the all around game was fun but the customer service was beyond bad. We had a 4 year old with us (which we called about way before we came to make sure that was ok) and he accidentally put a item in the wrong area where the guy had to come in and “fix” it by resetting the step. I guess the guy was just having a bad night bc he was the only one working and he was on crutches with a hurt leg but he was completely rude to all of us. To the point where my wife called him out and told him he ruined our experience! He didn’t act as if he cared at all. Didn’t offer to take the group picture after, and wasn’t apologetic. I’m not one to complain on here and like I said maybe he was just having a bad night and we caught it at a bad time but it completely ruined our experience and our night for that matter.

Hello! Here at Vail Valley Escape Room we strive to provide the best experiences possible for all participants at all ages; but with that comes an amount of cooperation from both sides. We give an extremely detailed briefing to ensure the proper function of the adventure and that everyone has a great time; and that the adventure is preserved for future groups. With this in mind we ask you to keep an eye on the little ones, that we allow in free of charge, to ensure things function properly. After reviewing the tapes and talking with the game master it appears that rules were not followed by both the non paying and paying parties of the group, ruining the functionality of the puzzle for your group as well as groups after. At the realization of the damage to the room the gamemaster became distressed and sadly was unable to hide it in his reaction (on crutches, only person on a busy day). At the end of the day, we are sad to hear about this situation and experience and are happy to email you a voucher that will hopefully provide a measurable amount of compensation to hopefully earn back your business. Please shoot us an email address and the name of the reservation to info@mtnescape.com with reference to this review.

We did 3 of Vail Valley's escape rooms (2 in Avon and 1 in Vail Village). All 3 rooms were amazing! We've done a lot of escape rooms and the design and themes of these 3 rooms were some of the best we've seen. The puzzles were all logical and did not require any leaps in thinking, so we were never frustrated. We were able to crush all 3 rooms, so the difficulty was at the perfect level. Pro tip: go during the day on your days off from skiing! All 3 times we went we were able to have the whole room to ourselves, which made the experience so much better!

My family and I did the intermediate room, Rocky Mountain Meltdown. Most of us were escape room veterans, but this room was challenging and fun. The one issue I had was that a cord was caught making one part of the room more difficult than it was supposed to be, meaning someone hadn't caught this mistake when they were resetting the puzzle. It was a minor setback and we were still able to escape the room in time.

We've been on a quest, my wife, 9 year old daughter and I, to check out and compare different escape rooms. This was our 3rd location so far, 6th room we've tried. We've yet to escape from any room so far, but we've had fun trying.
We did the medium level room and almost made it to the end. Some escape rooms seem to focus on clever puzzles and some focus on making their rooms look fancy. I'd put this room in the clever puzzles category. I find so far, that the more clever the puzzles, the more fun it is trying to solve the room and that's why we enjoyed this one so much. It could still use just a little bit more in the aesthetics only because I feel that adds to the overall experience. I will say though, that the photos they use on the web site of the rooms, don't do justice to what they have done to make this such a fun experience. I highly recommend.

My wife and 8 year old daughter experienced our first ever escape room during our July Beaver Creek trip. We Saved the Mountain with only 1:28 seconds to spare. My daughter really enjoyed the intro presentation by our guide. The clues were helpful and the time went by quickly. I would definitely add this activity to your next Vail Valley trip.

We took our college age son while on spring break (he’s a big fan of escape rooms). We had a great time. In fact, we immediately did a 2nd one after completing the first. The rooms were interesting and challenging. Definitely a good family excursion.
