Our family rates these guys 10/10. If you are looking for fun and adventure in Eagle Valley, Lakota Guides have you covered. Book a trip with them, and you will be the hero of your group!

The river is the river. What sets an experience apart is gear and safety, ease of logistics, and most importantly engaged, experienced guides who care about sending you home with a huge smile. Lakota delivers on all counts.

We enjoyed a half day of Colorado River rafting - fun Class III runs with some time to swim and enjoy the beautiful scenery on our float. Mike and Cat were our boat guides, and Mark led the entire adventure - orienting us and keeping the ride to and from moving with expert level Dad jokes.

Orientation and outfitting at the boathouse was quick and easy. They provide all the gear you need. From there a quick ride to the put in location and then adventure. This is perfect for a first timer and has enough thrills to keep more experienced folks engaged. Nice, healthy packed lunch on the way home.

Safety is paramount. And fun ruled the day. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return for more.

My family and I had the pleasure of rafting with Lakota River Guides. This is an outstanding, professional company and they are taking measures to ensure guest safety before, during, and after the trip, on and off the river. We had the pleasure of having Wyatt as our guide and Parker as our driver - both were knowledgeable about the river and the entire area. We had a blast and can't wait until next time!

AMAZING Rafting! My 18yr old did not want to go rafting as she was afraid...about a 1/4 way thru she said she wanted to go again! Conner and Charlie were the best! Got to know each one of us and made sure we were all having a blast! We did a II/III and can't wait to go back and do a III. Lakota provided everything we needed and if you forgot sunscreen or sunglasses they had them for purchase at a very reasonable price. For us..this was life changing and it had everything to do with our incredible guides..Conner and Charlie! Lakota is the way to go!!! and LOVED the professional photographer!

Booked a whitewater rafting trip which really turned out to be a long river float with about 5 minutes of rafting in the beginning. We wanted much more action for our teen boys. We went out of Glenwood Springs, which was a total disaster, as you have to get on I-70 West on a bus from the meeting point, and sit in traffic to get to your drop-off point. It took about 2 hours total from check-in to drop off in the water, which was a total waste of time.

The route is scenic and calm, we had a guide named Cara from California and she was excellent and knew her stuff so that made the trip enjoyable, but for the most part I wouldn’t recommend this trip for anyone seeking adventure and would suggest going rafting on the Arkansas River/Browns Canyon if you can make it down there.

An excellent adventure from start to finish. Ron and Degan were fabulous drivers to our rafting destination spot and back, they offered great information both historical and current about the area, and made the entire experience super fun and safe. Degan was our raft guide and we felt super safe and had a fun experience. I highly recommend this rafting company and we hope to visit CO again and try additional rafting trips.

We had a fabulous time rafting! The professionalism of the company presented itself the moment we arrived in the parking lot and were directed to a space. The checking in process was easy and quick and then we proceeded to a large area where three employees efficiently dressed 15 or so people in wet suits, shoes, jackets, and PFDs in a matter of minutes. We were instructed, divided, and ferried to the river's entry point by Chuck, Jessie, and Riley who were entertaining as well as informative as to dangers we may encounter while on the river. I felt totally prepared for what lay ahead! The trip down the river with Jessie as our guide was incredible. The beauty of the landscape and the sighting of a mated pair of Bald Eagles will be a life-long memory. The river was relaxing with some thrilling areas of rapids. The trip was over too soon and the Lakota crew quickly organized all the gear and stowed it away so we could get back to our vehicles and ordinary lives. Thank you to everyone for such a memorable experience!

Family Rafting Trip in Browns Canyon, July 31, 2020, Class III rapids with Mark and Parker, two of the best guides ever. The experience start out great and just got better! Parker picked up our family of 9 at the hotel, we signed paper work and picked up equipment at the boat house, then we loaded up in the van and had a enjoyable guided trip to our drop in point on the Arkansas River. Mark and Parker sure know the area. We learned about the local geology and even saw some Deer in the road. Sweet!

At the drop-in location, everything was organized and seamless. We divided up into two boats and headed down river. We received solid on river instruction from our guides, then we were blasting through rapids! This was a great family experience. Our family age range goes from 58 down to 20 yrs old. We had a great time. The weather was fantastic. We were never bored, there was something new to learn at ever turn in the river! Lots of entertaining rapids. We had a couple of fun stops along the way. We saw fish and even a bull snake at one of our stops.
They even provided a delicious lunch. The trip ended way to soon. Float time was approximately 3 hrs. or so.

Lakota Guides provided everything we needed to for a great trip. A dry-bag was provided on the rafts to hold diabetic medical supplies which was greatly appreciated.

We are definitely coming back for Class IV rapids next time.

Our guide Chuck was an outstanding driver, host and guide. We had two young girls, ages 4 and 7 and he made the trip so special for them He was very knowledgeable about the history along the river, the river and its currents and how our float going to go and was a fun guide. Caitlin, his co worker, gave us all kinds of information on the bus ride to our drop off. She talked to the little girls and got them excited about the float trip and after the trip she talked about Colorado and her personal experiences. She was delightful, attentive and a great addition to our trip. I would recommend Lakota Outfitters and this particular float trip for anyone with young children. It was perfect and the whole experience was 5 star.

My family of five decided to raft and Lakota had suggested over the phone that my timid 5 year old and myself could meet the other 3 in our party 20 min down the river, as to avoid the strongest rapids. When we arrived our driver, Kat, offered to take my little boy and meet us, so that I could enjoy the fun rapids at the beginning. It was so much fun for myself and our older kids, and my youngest was happily waiting on us at our meeting point. Our guide was knowledgeable and we felt safe throughout our rafting trip. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back.

A great day on the Colorado river with Lakota! They were knowledgeable about the area and entertained everyone on the bus to and from the drop off and pick up point. We were first timers, my husband and 14 yr old son and me. We did the Shoshone tour, it had all the excitement at the beginning of the trip, class 2 and 3 rapids but after a quick demonstration on how to paddle and stay in the raft, everyone did fine and no one was tossed overboard. Then it was a gentle ride the rest of the way and they even let everyone jump off to swim a bit in the river and taught us how to pull ourselves back into the raft. A lot of fun, we were nervous to start but it was all worth it and no reason to worry. Thanks Lakota!
