Batey Mojito & Guarapo Bar

About
Batey is a new mojito bar in Tulum. We serve the best mojitos made with freshly crushed sugar cane juice out of a converted VW Beetle! There's live music most days of the week, a great atmosphere and the best service.

If you a fortunate enough to make it to Tulum, this is a must stop. They tend to have live music at 6:00 and 9:00 nightly a d the drinks are the best around...by far. Keep in mind its cash only, but the drinks are only 100 pesos. Come, drink and enjoy!

We came here on the first night of our trip since we had spent almost a full day traveling between flights and car rides so we weren't looking to hang out anywhere far from our hotel. This place is pretty close to the main street of Tulum town and was very easy to find (I used Google Maps to help guide me and my boyfriend but I am sure if you ask a local they can help you as well!) Our temperatures were checked and we wore our masks until we were seated. They had hand sanitizer available as well before you walked in. I tried a watermelon mojito and my boyfriend got I want to say a guava mojito but I can't remember exactly (it was one that the server recommended). I am normally not a fan of mojitos, but these two were very good and refreshing! Tulum was way more humid and hot than we thought, so the mojitos here were so nice to drink. The place itself though does have fans on throughout the space so it's pretty nice (we were expecting to sweat a lot in here while sipping on our drinks lol). There was also live music which was cool. I recommend visiting this place while you are in Tulum!

I have some of the most fantastic food of my life when I woke up one day in Tulum for breakfast. Woman on the street recommended it I said I want cheap and good, she says Batey, around the corner. I am still in a food stupor. I have never had such quality crafted inexpensive food in my life. I had an omelette, cucumber drink with stocks with cucumber and real cucumber and it was amazing! The people here are so chill and so cool and the music is so excellent I can’t think of another place I’d want to eat. 25 stars highly recommended.

My partner and I went to Bateys for a drink and live music last week. Drinks were delicious, vibe was great. HOWEVER, after one drink each we were both absolutely trashed, stumbling, out of our heads....made it back to our hotel (thankfully) collapsed, and couldn't move a muscle.
Our drinks were without a doubt, dusted with narcotics, likely muscle relaxers. As someone who takes benzos for anxiety and has had a drink or two with them I know this feeling without a doubt. For those of you who have seen bridesmaids, think of the scene with her on the plan. Mind you, my partner is 6'4 and 200 pounds and this is what ONE mixed drink did to him.
This is a known occurrence in this area of mexico, with many bars and resorts using cheap or watered down alcohol because it is more expensive and then spiking the drinks to try to trick people. It is so utterly dangerous and the outcome could have been terrible, we are lucky. Not to mention, for someone who is on other medications-- there could be unknown drug interactions resulting in devastating outcomes. PLEASE be careful.

Be very careful here, you may do not get any money back. Good music, but very doggie cashier . Well over her skills, rude and unfortunately can make a very bad experience of a nice day.

Cute spot, the mojitos and guarapos are amazing served with a sugar cane stick. Cash only. They had live music and dancers which were great. The only annoying part was the constant street vendors coming in and out bothering you at the table asking you to buy their wares.

Tulum is a place of many different kinds of vives in the Mojito bar, Batey: has got to be one of the coolest places to go to get good food great company, meet people that you don’t know and just have the most relaxing time of your life. A trip to Cancun without going to the Batey Bar, it’s just a mistake. I like to stay about a block away and just walk there or take a bike. I love this place.

Perfect location to have a pit stop. Drink some of the best drinks you have ever had (Mango Mojito is amazing)
They serve breakfast from 0700 that is reasonably priced and the food is good.
Great serviceminded people working there with a smile on their faces at all times.

Great bar with live music in the heart of downtown Tulum. Drinks were large, tasty and inexpensive. Bar had a mix of tourists and locals. Good vibes and a place where you can hold a conversation.

Amazing. Great value for price, live music and goooood vibes!! We were welcomed by Adrian and Miguel who provided us with the best service we had so far in Tulum (arguably in Mexico). Thank you!! We will be back 💙💙💙

We love this place also and have visited during the day since we are in Puerto Aventuras each year. When does the music start and do they post who is playing? We want to go there in the evening but need timing. Thanks

The music starts around 9pm I think but they also have some live music (more chilled) for dinner. Check out their fb page I think they have info as to who is playing on it

Givensunday, post your thoughts about the Rooster here if you have further information with regard to the "lies" you think other's are stating. I know what I saw, so I hope you are not accusing me of lying, it is smoky in the courtyard area, that's the truth.
If you are the owner of the bar, respond to the reviews, factually and informative, I am sure the TA community would be grateful for any information you can provide.
Is there a way to answer to the lies of these gentlemen talking?
Calmly while pointing to your concealed weapon.
