About
Though less than a mile from the Tulum Archaeological Site, Playa Paraiso is surrounded by untouched forests, giving it an idyllic and secluded feel—perfect for relaxing at. Take a dip in the crystal-clear waters before indulging in some delicious seafood at one of the beachfront restaurants. You can also go on a boat tour to snorkel around coral reefs. For better weather, you might want to plan your trip between April and May to avoid hurricane season. During the warmer months, you may come across seaweed on the beach, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this beautiful spot. – Tripadvisor

Excellent beach zone in Tulum. It's quite beautiful here. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby too. Some of these bars and restaurants are actually quite luxurious, so do not expect affordable prices. Tulum actually is less touristic than other cities in Mexico, but still its beach is very much visited. The restaurants and bars in the downtown area are much less expensive, and there's a more variety of them. We saw loads of people on the sand going up and down but not too many cars were parked up the road. To get to the beach, it's possible to go by car or to walk. If you're in the downtown area, like we were, it's better to go by car. Nearby the beach, there's a small area for parking cars next to the road, which, of course, is not enough space for a big crowd. We were worried if we would find a spot to park our car as the beach is obviously the most popular place in Tulum. We had to wait a while but we ended up finding a spot for our car. It's not the safest place to leave your car though. The parking spots are not charged by the city council, nor by any private enterprise. Walking is an option if you're staying in a hotel close to the beach as the sand is perfect for walking barefoot. We might have taken around 40 minutes (its just 3km long) to walk down the entire beach, which I would say is highly recommended. Besides, the views are splendid and the sun is forever inviting all day long. We came across some (small) motored boat tour companies when walking down the beach, which apparently were taking tourists for snorkeling on the reef close by. There were loads of boats to be honest. It did not seemed safe for bathers to have all those boats anchored in the sand. Well, it also felt like it all lacked further regulation...

Lovely beach just south of the Maya preserve. It is filled with local families, kids, volley ball, boats, etc. We had a great day enjoying the atmosphere and almost avoiding the incessant music blasted on the more southerly beaches. While we still paid for an umbrella and a spot on the sand, it was considerably cheaper than the in-town beaches.

Beautiful.

Be careful, my daughter was allergic to the seaweed which apparently happens to those with sensitive skin.

This was the first place we visited on our trip to Tulum. We liked it enough to make it the last place we visited (again) as well.

I preferred this beach over the south end of the Tulum waterfront. The latter is just too exclusive and inaccessible to the public. We rode our bike endlessly looking for an access point to the beach. Also, the water seemed much rougher in the south end.

Paraiso has it's issues with the beach clubs as well. One place wanted 1000MXN just to sit in their lounge chair, and this did not go towards food purchase.

We eventually found Villa Pescadores further north along this beach (closer to the Tulum ruins). They did not charge anything to relax at their establishment, with no minimum food purchase requirement.

Great memories of this beach!

We hung out here for a few hours and paid 500 peso to stay in their "VIP" section and we had a bed with shade to ourselves. It was very relaxing but the beach itself was pretty crowded. We remained at our bed to make sure we didn't get too close to anyone and occasionally went out to the water. Probably out of all the places we visited in Tulum, we enjoyed the margaritas here the most. I can't exactly say the service was bad here because our waiter was taking care of so many parties and looked a little overwhelmed, but every time he helped us he was always kind and attentive. So really because he was so busy I don't think the service was bad they just didn't have a lot of staff for such a big beach restaurant. Compared to other beach clubs we went to this one seemed to be more family friendly.

Has beautiful sand but it isn't the "palm fringed" beach I expected. Difficult to get to but all of the public beaches in the area are: you have to travel down a narrow road with close vegetations...often only one car each way. If you drive go to the end of the road then u-turn and park on the side of the road. I didn't find it easy to find which beach was which. I know it is one of the first ones. My second trip I decided to just park at a beach club but the ones i found didnt open 'til 10

There are some palm trees that provide some shade but get there early. I thought I saw a sign that said no coolers but everyone had one. The seaweed barrier didnt extend to where I was sitting but the city did a great job cleaning up the beach early in the morning.

Overall it was nice, though. Again, beautiful sand and clean beach.

Our family visited this beautiful beach on two days during our short week in Tulum. Our family relaxed on our rented lounge chairs, enjoyed our colds beverages and admired the palm trees rooted in brilliant white sand. Arrive early before the crowds during peak season, be prepared to pay for the lounge chairs and agree to purchase lunch at the beach bar/restaurant. Food is reasonably priced and better than we expected at a beach resort.

We went as a group and had an amazing time. We rented some cabanas which included a minimum amount to spend that was extremely reasonable. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS. And the service was great! Our server Henrry was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of at all times. Thank you to Carlos as well for also checking on us throughout our time there. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a "public" beach but you have to pay for chairs if you don't want to sit on the sand. And there isn't much clean sand at the time of writing. Unfortunately, this beach is practically unenjoyable thanks to the sargassum problem.

White sand and turquoise ocean. Coming here makes me wonder why people both going all the way to Hawaii. You have to deal with a little drama to get parked, but go before 9:30 and just grab free “street” parking. A little later and it will cost $180-200 peso, not horrible. We had a great time paying to hang out at Pancho villa, and we also entered at the public entrance and did our own thing did free one day. When you pay to stay at a beach club, we get access to bathrooms, shower and a place to sit. If you’re going to eat down there anyway, might as well pay to have some shade and a chair.
We paid $200 peso per adult minimum to enjoy covered chairs steps from the water. The $200 each was applied toward the food and drink we consumed. Easily went way over that amount during the course of 4 hours on the beach. Great live music and attentive staff. Highly recommend Poncho Villa while you are at Paraiso.

Gorgeous beach with easy access to food and drinks at a variety of restaurants and hotel properties.

You can easily set up shop on the sand for free or pay a minimum in booze and bites for a shaded cabana.

While there were many people swimming and relaxing, the beach never felt crowded and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
