I've dived all over the Caribbean and other countries, and had good and bad dive shop experiences. I'm SO glad I found Tulum Scuba. Owner Jeff. S. Clark really knows his stuff and has been diving caves since about age 18. I checked them out LOL (as I know they were really checking ME out) with an ocean dive to start. Then we set up the cavern diving (my first time diving cenotes) at The Pit and Nicte Ha. It was a great experience and I'd recommend Tulum Scuba and the cenote dives for divers of all levels. Jeff and photographer Isa (Elisa) Doring were an absolute joy to dive with. Of course, being Covid times, it was just us so I got extra pampering. In my younger days, I'd haul my own equipment but as an older diver with back injuries, I need extra help. Jeff and Elisa made me feel so comfortable and showed me a great time. This is a smaller dive shop found in centro Tulum. They like it to be sort of exclusive so you won't find a sign (other than the Texas highway sign - grin - as Jeff was born in Texas.). But he's been in Tulum for many years. Elisa is from Brazil and did a great job with the photography. It really was fun, safe, and exhilirating. Final note: if you want to dive caves, this is definitely the people you should seek out. Thank you Jeff and Elisa. P.S. They are Tulum Scuba - there's another outfit called Scuba Tulum - don't get mixed up :)

What do you need from a dive company? Safety, knowledge, passion, the personal touch, flexibility all spring to mind - and those are all the things are what you get with Tulum Scuba. I arrived with my own equipment but Jeff had spares of everything and kindly lent me boots after losing mine. His dive plans and safety talks were detailed and addressed all the possibilities. Nothing was left to chance and everything was done to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. His knowledge of every single dive I did (20 in total - 4 in the ocean and 16 in cenotes) was incredible - history of the surrounding area, how the cenotes system was formed, how many of them interconnect and what he was going to show you at specific points. His passion for exploring the cenotes and showing you what they have to offer is infectious - you can't help but get excited about every dive. That same passion is also evident in the ocean as well. All of this professional approach comes a personal touch as well - friendly chats at all times and has the best tips for where to eat!! All round excellence!

I had a fantastic time getting my advanced padi open water certification with Jeff in the Tulum cenotes. The cenotes are amazing but can be quite tricky with the wrong guide. Jeff is extremely knowledgable about the whole area and its history. You not only get a scuba instructor, but you get a guide for the whole tulum and maya region. He makes you feel at ease and is very flexible in catering to your specific wants and needs. Aside from all this, Jeff is also just an awesome guy to dive with! Many thanks Jeff for a once in a lifetime experience!

Finally, after decades of thinking about it, I finally did my first cave certification. Jeff is amazing--experienced, cautious, knowledgeable, and an all-round nice person. Highly recommended, and I'll be coming back to dive with him (and do more courses) as soon as I can!

I had a wonderful dive with Jeff to the Dos Ojos cenotes. It was my first time ever diving in caverns, and Jeff was completely professional, knowledgable, and made me feel very comfortable. This guy knows everything about the area!! Highly recommend a dive with him :)
