We came here as apart of of Edventure Tour Package (see longer review there) This place was very remote and private and we had the place almost all to ourselves first thing in the morning. Our hosts there, Gael and Nosario took good care of us while our Edventure guide took pictures of us. I always felt safe. The simple taco lunch was delicious after the activities and the jeep ride in was a hoot! The cenotes were truly beautiful and clear. Glad we had out wetsuits provided by Edventure Tours!

We visited the Maya Jungle in the morning and have to say it was great. They don’t have big groups as many other operators in the area, which improves the experience a lot.
The guides were super nice and informed us very well about the forest and everything interesting there is to know.
The food in the end was also very tasty.
We would definitely recommend this experience.

We went to Selva Maya for an adventurous date, and were led by Sergio. He was amazing, letting us know about everything we passed by, and made sure we were all safe and enjoying every activity. He made sure to double check that everything was being done correctly by us, and didn’t make anyone feel bad if there was anything they did not feel comfortable doing.

Amazing experience!!! They don’t advertise well, so you may not have heard of this gem. Don’t let that lead you astray. I’m so glad a friend recommended this spot! You’ll get a private tour experience! This might be because of Covid, but we were the only ones there!! :))). The friendly staff will take you into the deep jungle. Killer ziplines through canopies!!! Cenotes without the crowded tourist/theme park vibes like their neighbor Tortuga. If you are visiting Tulum 100% add this to your itinerary.

My best friend and her twin boys visited me in Tulum for their birthday and I wanted to do something fun and special with them. The team at Selva totally delivered. It was my friend’s first time zip lining but the team helped put her at ease (and also goofed around with us). We did 9 zip lines, a rock climb, etc and swam in 2 beautiful and Cristal clear cenotes. It’s clear the team care deeply about this land and enjoy sharing it and it’s history with guests. I appreciated that they had a photographer capture highlights from our day so we didn’t have to try to do it ourselves and could just focus on having fun. For an additional $65 usd it felt totally worth it for us. But for folks who may prefer to take their own photos just know they don’t pressure you at all to buy anything. It’s just there if you want it.
At the end we had a ton of delicious tacos and they even brought out a birthday cake for the boys. Which was a total surprise and such a sweet touch. It was so special. We went on a weekday and had the whole park basically to ourselves. I’ll definitely bring future guests here!

We're going to get on board with the 5 star reviews. Upon arrival it's apparent that the workers enjoy what they do and enjoy working with each other, As guests, we were quickly welcomed into this fun family. We chose to be driven down the bumpy jungle road. We had fun with our driver. Others did choose to take the ATV option, but it was so dry we opted to get less dusty - bring a bandana if the ATV is your choice.

We are a family of 4, with kids ages 10 and 7. This company was wonderful with our kids. Always joking and smiling, all the while paying close attention to safety. Our daughter loved David! The 9 ziplines are great. Followed by a rock climbing wall and rappelling if you choose to participate. Then a quick bathroom break before we headed to two different cenotes. The cenotes are refreshing and gorgeous. Life jackets are provided, we brought our own mask and snorkel gear for comfort. The tour finished off with home cooked tacos that were enjoyed by all. Bring cash for tips, they are well earned and well deserved.

We are so happy we went with this tour company. It was a GREAT experience Book your tour today and you'll soon be leaving another 5 star review. Best.

Booking this tour was an excellent choice! The guides were very kind, fun, and friendly! The cenotes were breathtakingly beautiful, and the ziplining was so fun! One of the guides took awesome pictures of us for a very fair price. We will treasure them! They also provided a delicious taco lunch! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure! We 100% recommend!🤩

Did this with my 6 yr old and as it was a slow morning it was a de facto private tour. Gael our guide was very considerate and all the guides were professional and thoughtful. We really enjoyed our time there and all the activities. The cenote with stalactites and stalagmites was absolutely stunning and riding through the jungle in an ATV definitely highlights of this adventure. Oh and the lunch was delicious!!

Worth every penny!!! If you want to kill a day I recommend this excursion. The zip lining, rockwall climbing, rappelling, and swimming in the cenotes was amazing. If you're not comfortable climbing on unstable objects then this might not be for you. A lot of climbing, but truly worth it. The guides made everyone feel safe. There's an ATV ride for $30 per person or you ride in the truck. The lunch was amazing. Authentic tacos!!! Again, for everything you get in this package is worth the price!! Have fun!!!

I did not get to go on the trip because I was in a severe accident at the property of this trip. The local trip operator claimed that he was not responsible and Viator who is the trip organizer did not respond to the situation. Everything is good and pretty until you run into issues, then you know if you can really trust the operator or the organizer to do the right things. Please hear me out.

The accident occurred on 12/25/2019. I landed in Mexico on 12/20/2019, my friend and I were both sick since day 1 in Mexico and we had been both exhausted when we got to Tulum on 12/24/2019 at almost mid night. I briefly looked up on trip advisor’s app to see the details of the trip, it was showing scheduled on 12/25/2019 (I also have a bar code ticket in my iPhone wallet). We went to the adventure park a little before 9am, nobody was there and there was no sign whatsoever anywhere stating that it was closed or there might be danger inside. We were trying to find somebody to ask questions, we are both first time in Mexico and we don’t speak Spanish, really were not sure what was going on.

We heard the dogs barking and people slowly came out after that. We did not move, we were trying to wait for the dogs to come down first and out of nowhere as the people approaching us the dogs came at us. Next thing I know I was brutally attacked by those dogs.

First, I didn’t realize those dogs were not on leash. Second, I would never in a million years expect the dog owner(s) would just do nothing to stop the dogs and watch the dogs eating my ankles. I was bleeding all over, I had the hand sanitizer wipes with me, my friend was using those to clean up the mess. I saw the tissues, fat and stuff came out of my skin, I almost fainted. The pictures I attached are after a whole bag of wipes, still kind of bleeding. I called 911 right away, but they did not speak English, I was asking the dog owner(s) to help me talk to 911 in Spanish, they refused. I had to call the local trip operator to ask for help. We at least waited 20 minutes for the police officers to come, the dog owner(s) were smiling and talking while I almost broke down. The ambulance took forever and after they finally arrived, what they used to clean the wounds came out of a questionable unlabeled container. I asked the police officers to ask the owner(s) if the dogs have the paperwork proving that they have the necessary vaccinations. From my understanding from the police officer Gilman Cifuentes Ramirez, they did not admit they were the owners. I did not want to accuse anybody with anything under just assumption but later on after the text conversations between my friend and the local trip operator, he first said the dogs had the rabies vaccination (which means they were owned by them), but when we asked for the paperwork, he said there was none.

The police officer told us that the local trip operator told him that he will cover the hospital bills. But of course, after I sent him the bills, he was yelling that he did not have any money and started to question why we were there to begin with. I looked back in the app, there was supposed to be a conversation between the operator and I rescheduled the trip to 12/27/2019 (which I vaguely remember after he mentioned), the conversation was from months ago and there was no update on the app. I am not sure if my app had a glitch or not, I can not see the conversation anymore. Anyways, his argument was that the park was closed, hence he was not responsible for whatever happens there. He even denied the association with the people who stayed there with the dogs. That was a conversation going nowhere, I had wounds all over my legs, was in shocked in just got attacked by 2 big dogs that nobody claims responsibilities for, I had to be worried that I needed to get the rabies vaccination right away. It does not matter if it was closed or why were we there, there is no way on earth you let the dogs attack people who had absolutely no threat to you and get away with it.

I was put in the closest hospital in Tulum, which looked like just a very small clinic, didn’t look very sanitary. The doctor said usually for dog bites it was not recommended to have stitches because it could be a lot of germs in the wound to potentially cause infection. But one of the bite wounds was too deep and open so they had to put one stitch on it. Long story short, I had a stitch and was looking to get a rabies vaccine as soon as possible. It was on Christmas day, not body was open, I had to drag my leg with the fresh stitch to cab 3 different places in Tulum to look for the vaccination. The last place I went told us to go to playa del carmen, which is an hour away from Tulum. Took us an hour to get a cab driver who was willing to take credit card with extra charge (as I was taking cab everywhere to find vaccination, we ran out of cash).

Long story short, the hospital we were told to go didn’t have rabies vaccine, the cab driver called up his friends in playa del carmen to find other hospitals, he also called up his doctor friend to ask about it. It was because its Christmas day, most of the services were not available. After a million calls and been to 4 different hospitals, we finally found the place to get me vaccinated. The doctor at hospiten took out the stitch from hospital de Tulum and re-stitched me. He did a thorough cleanup after gave me the vaccination.

I got attacked at 9am, I did not get back to where I stayed in Tulum until at least 7:30pm, ran to 7 different hospitals/medical facilities. I called up the number from the trip on the app which is operated by Viator at number 7026485873 at 11:37am to cancel the trip and the trips coming up in the next couple days. The female representative (I think her name is Lance, or at least it’s the name on the email that was sent out later) stated that she understood the situation, documented the accident, she would escalate the situation and give me a call back. She said I could also send over all the documents by replying her email, which I did, on both 12/25/2019 and 12/26/2019. I called again on 12/26/2019 (which is my birthday) at 8:25am to follow up with the statues. The male representative looked up my case and confirmed that he received the pictures of the wounds before they were treated, the hospital discharge reports and bills. He apologized to me that it happened and stated that they will cover my bills and take responsibilities, the case was escalated to the investigation team. I had to cut my trip short, I flew back to New York on 12/27/2019 to seek proper medical treatment, did not make it to Cancun for the rest of my trip which should have been until 12/31/2019.

I called again on 12/30/2019 at 10:56am, the male representative who picked up the phone had a really bad attitude towards me from the beginning, I was trying to explain my situation and follow up on the progress with the investigation. He said it was escalated, there was nothing he could do, he did not know what the progress was, did not know how long it was going to take, did not know who was working on it, basically there was nothing he could help me with. After the call, I got an email from Viator Customer Service on 12/30/2019 11:10am. That they will contact me in the next 7-10 working days. 18 business days later (total 21 business days later), I still got no response.

I am still in shock that this whole thing happened, I lost faith in humanity a little bit to be honest. I have been having nightmares and I think I will have to go to therapy for this. It should not have happened on my Christmas/Birthday trip the first time I am in Mexico if the local trip operator had a sign up on the property or had the dogs on leash. I understand it is probably different situation or culture there but taking no responsibilities for the accident happens on your property. The best response I got from the local operator was he would raise my case to his insurance, he will cover whatever his insurance covers. I have never heard one single apology from him. He absolutely had no concern of my well being and tried all his power to avoid spending money he doesn’t have.

For the travelers who read up to here. Word of advice, please record any phone calls with representatives in the future. Document every little detail when accident occurs. I will eco what I said in the beginning. Everything is good and pretty until you run into issues, then you know if you can really trust the operator or the organizer to do the right things. I hope things don’t come to this, but I reserve my right to obtain an attorney.

Hello, The incident with the neighbor’s dog is indeed not pleasant. It is very important to clarify both sides of the story. You came on Christmas day even if we were closed. You did receive the email saying the park was closed and you agreed to change the day for the 27th of December (but for some reason you showed up anyway). The incident happened on the side of the road, not in the park (the park is 3 miles inside the jungle). The fact that the park was closed on Christmas day explains why our staff was not there. Even though we think this is a sad incident, we cannot be responsible for people and their dogs on other private properties surrounding the entrance. That being said, we tried to help you but you refused our help. You said you had to talk to someone before accepting our help (to this day you haven’t replied). Beside the fact that the clinic told you it was a minor injury, we kept contacting you to offer our help which you denied. We offered you our insurance to take care of the small bill, which you also denied. We offered you all the possible help even though the incident happened on the side of the road (not in the park) with people not related to the park on a day we were closed. If there is something else we can do, please let us know. Regards.
