I had a great time at the grand cenote and recommend it. It is a wonderful place where you are able to swim close to little turtles. Entrance fee: 10 USD or 180 pesos. You can rent lockers and snorkel inside.

This makes for a great short trip from Tulum being only a few kilometers away. We visited before lunch when it wasn't very busy but there is no cafe so take drinks/food if you plan on spending very long there.
The turtles were sunning themselves when we were there. The water is so clear and you can swim through a cave to another area that has soft sand on the bottom.
