Shipping and Delivery
Jan 2018 • Couples
We purchased a lamp at this shop on Jan. 31, 2018. We were told that shipping ( which we paid extra for ), would take 4 to 6 weeks. At the 6 week mark when we had not yet received the lamp we contacted the seller via e-mail. Alex responded quickly and told us that they were having trouble with their shipper. He also said that they now had a UPS agent and that our lamp would be delivered the following week. It was not and when repeated e-mails requesting a UPS tracking number went unanswered we were forced to contact American Express. It is now going on 9 weeks and we still have no lamp, on tracking number, and no response from this dealer. We spend several months a year in Mexico and have dealt we many shops and artist , large and small. For the most part they are friendly and honest. These people at La 5ta Hacienda are not. After reading some other reviews I see I am not alone in that assumption. If you deal with these people take your purchase with you or chances are you will never see it again.

AVOID having them ship anything.
Dec 2017 • Couples
Shop has gorgeous stuff. We bought a glass flower lamp like the one in their photos but made the mistake of having them ship it to the US. It arrived 2 1/2 months later and broken. Repeated attempts to contact the shop by phone and email failed. We never heard from anyone. We would have liked to have ordered a replacement and even would have paid to replace the broken glass flowers but they simply ignored all attempts at communication. We finally had to notify the credit card company about a credit. Warning....if you buy something, our recommendation is to take it with you.

Greatest shop in Playa del Carmen
Aug 2017 • Couples
My husband and I were lucky enough to come across this lovely shop while in Playa del Carmen in January this year. There are lots of wonderful quality items in this shop. We were particularly drawn to a sizeable lamp that had 6 individual glass blown lamp shades and stood about 6ft tall. Being from New Zealand we were wondering how on earth we would get it home! Alex the owner and Tigre his assistant and the rest of the team were amazing. We thought for days over buying it and didn't decide until the night before leaving to go back to New Zealand. They had it boxed up within 24 hours and brought it to the airport at Cancun to meet us at check in the next day! Unfortunately the airline would not take it as additional luggage (we took a chance). So Alex and Tigre took my husband and the lamp around the freight companies at the airport to get quotes while I stayed at the airport nervous we would miss our flight home. There was no luck as the freight quotes were astronomical and some didn't even know where NZ was! So sadly we had to leave without it. However we said we were still keen to find away and would try and organise it from our end. When we got home we managed to find a freight company in Compton that would ship it over if Alex could get it to there from Cancun. They shipped it free of charge to Compton by road freight. It arrived safely and was shipped to NZ from there. They even put in a free spare lamp in case one was broken. The communication over that time was great and we would not hesitate to deal with then again. Check out the shop if you are there it's worth it!

A Mexican artistic experience
Apr 2016 • Solo
A lucky find, not your usual tourist trap. The owner and staff are welcoming and helpful. The art is interesting and genuine, a cultural experience. Although the prices aren't cheap, perhaps that shouldn't be the expectation as they do seem to be artisan quality, not mass produced. You will find a variety of prices though allowing maybe just a small purchase. I loved the ceramic but broke my amazing mug (that everyone used to comment on when they saw it) when I got back to Australia. Might have to try for another visit one day. Definitely recommend even for the joy of the wander through.

Jul 2016 • Couples
We loved what we saw so we walked into the air conditioned shop. Alex and Moses greeted us and gave us a tour. Exquisite hand made, local Mexican artwork. 100% made in Mexico. So beautiful that you will want to take more than one piece home. Please visit the shop as you will be delighted. Alex is very friendly and helpful. He even gave us some great tips on new places to eat. Thanks guys.

Not the usual tourist trap
Jun 2016 • Couples
This was an amazing place. The prices were very low and the quality very high. The owner was delightful to talk to. Definitely not the typical Mexican tourist trinkets or American brand stuff. These products were real art. We stocked up on pewter made by one of his family members. Worth the trip
