We did the whale shark tour which included transportation to and from our hotel, breakfast, snorkeling with the whale sharks, cruises to isla mujeres where we were given cervesa or non alcoholic drinks as well as fresh made ceviche. It was phenomenal! (my husband doesn’t eat raw fish and even he enjoyed it)
Our captain was amazing and got us right in all the action of the whale sharks. We had an amazing time and everyone had numerous swims with multiple whale sharks. I had an exceptionally long swim with another passenger and our guide. Basically you swim with the shark for as long as it “allows you” because they are much faster at swimming and will eventually leave you and fade off into the ocean blue. This particular shark was quite fond of us I guess because he would turn back towards us just as we thought he was getting too far away. Everyone on the boat was so excited for us and in awe of the beautiful experience we had.
Isla mujeres was beautiful. Very touristy but the water and sand make it all worth it. It’s so beautiful that it almost doesn’t seem real.
On the way from the whale sharks to Isla Mujeres our captain found hundreds of dolphins that we were able to view close up as the interacted with the boat and its wake. The captain took my 5 year old son and sat him on the bow of the boat with him so he could have the best view. It was magical. Everyone on the boat was oohing and awwwing as the dolphins jumped and played a boy feet from us.
I highly recommend this trip. The staff is very friendly and they know their stuff! They are ocean experts. Nuria was our guide and she was fabulous.

The day began with a pickup from my hotel stoop in Playa Del Carmen. Arriving at the marina, we had time for a break and a bite to eat before boarding the boat. We departed on the Isabella to the Contoy National Park with our guide Paola. It looked as if only we were heading to see the whale sharks. I was a little skeptical of finding our objective, but it was a beautiful day for a boat ride. Paola and the crew kept us entertained and hydrated. We made a couple of stops and searches before jetting off to another location where there was a city of similar boats with other eager passengers seeking to swim with the whale sharks. I thought omg this is total chaos! But to my surprise I quickly observed how the boats choreographed their maneuvers' ensuring all passengers had ample opportunity to swim and take pictures of these majestic but unpredictable creatures. I was very impressed with how it was not chaotic, but a flowing on the boats' operations. These operators were real pros in how they handled and placed their passengers. Many of the whale sharks would swim amongst us, while one or two would decide to swim a little deeper as if saying, "Ha, now what you going to do?". We visited Isla Mujeres on the way back, and there were so many boats and parties it was difficult to decide which way to look. It was so cool! Our crew prepared a delicious ceviche and drinks for us. It was a full day and we did not (by mutual choice) do the snorkel tour. Paola and crew were the bestest!

I booked at the last minute a private tour to Contoy island for my children (13, 11 and 9 years old) and myself. It was a magical day. We had a nice boat just for ourselves, captain was very nice and we felt secure. Our guide, Nouria, was wonderful, she took care of us during whole day. We were the first to arrive on this magical island, we walked around the island to see the lagoon and the landscape, then we had free time on the beach, then an excellent Mexican meal and finally a snorkeling experience (just us, before the other 100 tourists) next to the island. We thus went to Isla de Mujejes (crowded with people, but good occasion for shopping) and went back to our hotel. Everything went smooth, driver was on time and careful and fresh fruits and drinks were regularly offered. A wonderful and unforgettable experience for me and my children. Worth it!

I used Eco Tours Adventure for a bull shark SCUBA dive adventure and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The price was extremely reasonable and my dive guide, Moises, was competent and knowledgeable. He did a fantastic job explaining the undersea route and procedures before we dived, and maintained safety for this visually unforgettable tour. I definitely recommend him and Eco Tours Adventure.

We original debated going on our own to Yellowstone National Park and were so glad we didn't! Our Guide, Ryan Kemper did an amazing job! We went with Eco Tours on Saturday July 15th, 2023. There's truly so much to see and do and very hard to do in one day. Ryan made our trip even more amazing! He's very professional, knowledgeable and knows how to take care of his clients. We were filled with 12 hours of information that would have been hard to learn had we gone on our own. Thank You Ryan for an amazing day! Well done Ryan!

The tour was great and the crew were very timely which is rare :) Moises was an awesome instructor!! He spoke English really well and was great at explaining the background of the Mayan culture and geology of the cenotes. He was a great snorkeling instructor as well and took awesome photos, would highly recommend him & Eco Tours again!

We did a "full day" whale shark tour with Eco Tour Adventures. The tour operator picked us up at our hotel on time and we went to the port of departure in Cancun.
The positives: The whale sharks are beautiful and there were a lot of them feeding when we went. Luis, our jump escort, was very good at getting us close to these amazing animals. It really was a bucket list experience.
The negatives: We felt rushed. Our tour guide, Ernesto, was knowledgeable and friendly, but we only got two jumps with the sharks. Each jump was only about 2-3 minutes. When we asked for one more jump he told us we would have to choose between that or snorkeling. The others in our group picked snorkel. The light breakfast and lunch was fine for me as I am not a big eater, but my husband was not satisfied.
Overall, it was a very fun trip and a good experience.

We did two tours with this company, the whale shark tour and the sea turtles and cenotes tour. Our guides (Alexandra and Nadia) were amazing, very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They were passionate and enthusiastic about what they do. All of the staff (drivers, captains, etc) we encountered on our tours were great. Seeing the animals is an unforgettable experience, the snorkelling a lot of fun, the food was delicious. Overall we had a great time, I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Cancun.

Incredible experience. everything was well organized and in time. Our tour guide Moy was very knowledgeable and fun, we learned a lot about plants, animals and Mexican culture. Snorkeling with animals was one of the best I had. We saw so many turtles, sting rays and fishes 🤩 also, was very important that tour company and our guide actually care about environment, we also bought T-shirts with company logos, part of the income from which is sent to help with reefs restoration.

Moises, our guide for the day, was professional, kind, and very knowledgeable of the sea life, different environments, and how to protect the reefs, marine life, and cenotes. We recommend this company and would certainly return for another tour when we are in México again.

My husband & I will be coming to Playa de Carman from the 11th - 18th June & are very interested in swimming with whale sharks.
It says the season for them is between May & September. Can you answer a few questions for me please?
1) How many people do you take out on the boat?
2) I know you can't predict the future, but from past experiences will there be a lot of whale sharks at this time of the year?
3) How many people are in the water at one time?

You´re correct! The season for the Whale Shark Encounter is from June to September. We take 10 people per boat. The time of the year you´re coming is perfect, we can´t predict exactly the number of whale sharks but it´s a great time to see many of them. There are two persons with the guide at the time of the interaction. I hope this information is useful for you. Any other questions, please let us know!

How long are the whale interactions? There're a few tours, who only allow 5 mins of interaction.

Hi there! The time to be in the area with the whale shark is about 3 hours, depending on the animal because they are free to move. Generally, there are between 3 to 6 times to interact. To be sure about the quality of our service you can check in the comments or with somebody who did the tour with us. We cannot give you the exact amount of time because we are talking about free animals but our intention is that all people enjoy the interaction and have a great time! We offer a high quality and very professional service.
