Decent course, but overrated and not worth the $300 / round. Not particularly interesting, fairly straightforward course - was also expecting more in terms of views - you can only see the ocean from one of the holes (the 14th). Staff is ok, neither friendly nor unfriendly, sometimes they say they'll do something and never do it.

How disappointing! This is a nice course, but definitely not worth $300 / round! We had no less than 4 maintenance vehicles on each and every hole! They were everywhere - even in the middle of the fairway . They never stopped - or even slowed down when we were hitting. It was a circus - maintenance carts, tourist carts,... More

We just returned from playing this course, our 3rd time in recent years and were incredibly disappointed. This is a very expensive course to play and we expect a certain level of service, both on and off the course. We had lawn mowers on 16 of 18 holes - behind us or in front of us on almost every hole.... More

I called to make the tee time and explained that I have an apartment contract that all the courses in Playa Del Carmen accepts as local rate. The lady on the phone said they would accept this for local rate. Upon getting to the course the lady tells me that I have to pay full rate that they don't accept... More

Stayed at the Fairmont Mayacoba, called the course to find out what the greens fee would be and I was told that it would be $75 after noon. Upon reaching I was told at the pro shop that it's $129, upon mentioning that I had called earlier, I was rudely told maybe I had called another course. Good course but... More

Hello, the preferential rates for any Mayakoba guest are $199 and $129 at twilight. We do not offer any rates at $75, it might have been a misundertanding. However, thank you for your feedback and my apologies for the negative experience at the pro shop. More

Once again, we played at El Cameleon immediately following the week of the PGA event. The course was still in excellent shape (perhaps in part because we don't generally play from the areas the pros hit their shots). The staff is uniformly helpful and that includes the bartenders post round. It is a relatively easy course (we come from a... More

We had the unique experience of spending a week golfing at the El Camaleon golf course at the Mayekoba resort in Playa Del Carmen the week before the PGA Tournament - OHL Classic. We were able to golf the course 11 times as it was being set up for the pros with deeper rough (brutal) well-maintained fairways and immaculate greens... More

First off, the staff here is beyond exceptional. From the greeting at the pro shop, to the starters, everyone was friendly and helpful. You can't say enough about how well manicured this property is, how well taken care of, and how well maintained it is. Great layout by Norman again. This course does not disappoint. If you play one course... More
