After visiting a cenote in the morning, we decided to spend the rest of the day on the beach. We had been recommended KSM by a local friend, so we headed over. The minute you get to the parking lot, you are accosted by staff to get you to go one way or the other. We already knew we wanted to rent a bed for the afternoon, so we followed the guy who gave us the pricing for that. The other guy seemed pissed.
Once we got to the cabana and were explained how much the Food and beverage minimum was (roughly $2k pesos/$100 USD), we settled in. We were fine with spending that, seeing as we planned on being there the rest of the day. Our server was super nice and very helpful. He kept the drinks coming and was fairly attentive.
We also ordered a few food dishes. I had a salad of tomatoes and mozzarella that was fine, just average. But then we ordered the pulpo al guajillo (octopus in garlic and pepper sauce) and it was SO GOOD. I would definitely recommend it.
Unfortunately, when we were pulling out, we noticed our tank was empty - which was not the case when we arrived. Looks like we had our gas siphoned while we were inside, which is unfortunate considering how many staffers were waiting around in the parking lot for incoming customers. I hope it wasn't the disgruntled employee who we didn't follow into the restaurant...you'd think with all those people around, someone would have prevented things like siphoning from happening. Suspiciously, there's a Pemex station right outside the entrance off the highway. I'm sure when we left KSM and went to fill our now empty tank, that the scammers just sold us back our stolen gas. Not a great end to a previously relaxing day!

To be fast : perfect spot , nice beach , nice people ! Just go for it !
You can do all water sport you want and swimming to ! Nice bar and restaurant and possibility to rent glamping tent a the backside of the beach, just a dream.

Xpu-Ha beach is amazing! I liked the Ksm Beach Club, specially because the monday I was there, they didn't ask for a drink minimum, so we were able to use the beach beds for free! We had 4 beers, the service was good, however, paying the check (with credit card) took forever, and I didn't like that they took my card away from my sight, so be sure you pay with cash.
There is a $40 pesos fee per person to access the beach, once you get to the beach club be sure to ask them to give you a free drink to compensate the entrance fee (they will not offer it unless you ask for it).

Let's start with the good side, the people in the beach club and parking lot are extremely nice and helpful.
Then the bad side, I went to this restaurant by recommendation of a friend in pursue of a wedding location. The entrance road is ok, once you get to the entrance of the restaurant you are charged a fee of 50 pesos , this covers the use of the bathrooms and the beach.
When I got there it took more than 15 minutes to be approached by a waiter, they require a minimum of 350 pesos in consume for not charging you to use the beach beds.
When I wanted to order my meal the waiter didn't know the menu or what the dishes entitled. A great part of the menu wasn't available, no fried fish, no pizza, no crepes. I ended up ordering a hamburger, which I am still paying for it. It was over seasoned with way to much pepper and the meat wasn't fresh.
So now after almost 4 days, my stomach is struggling.
I have gone several times to the one next door "La playa Xpu-ha" though the waiters are not as young or hip, they are all extremely nice and the food is delicious and the prices fare. The fee you pay at the parking lot is reimbursed if you expend more than 200 per person on your way out. It has the same amazing beach, so I would suggest that option instead of KSM.

We came to Xpu Ha because it was very windy in Tulum. We came into a main entrance and didn't find the beach club we were looking for. A woman standing near the entrance had us pay $250 pesos for 2 chairs but we didn't realize nothing else came with that fee. When I tried to get a drink at a bar next door I was turned away since I wasn't a guest there?! I went to KSM and was given a warm welcome. We ended up spending the day there eating and drinking. The food was fantastic! My husband had the chicken fajitas and I had the grilled fish, which was out of this world fantastic!! Can't wait to go back, what a great day we had! Thanks guys!

Lets start with the place, Xpu-ha beach is one of the most beautiful beach in the riviera Maya, even more than Playa del Carmen, a way less people; thin, white and clean sand
this beach is less crowded than any other and I am sure after many reviews it wont probably be, now It is
you wont find a better beach just Tulum and Maroma
The restaurant of KSM is cozy, bohemio and the food is awesome at an excellent price
people is servicial and always there for you, you don't have to wait for them or wave like crazy for someone to come to you
Bathrooms are shared within several business around, so bathroom si not KSM responsibility but they are OK for 80 pesos wish is 4.5 dollars the entrance fee, so properly a review for bathrooms must be to land owners and not KSM.
Beach is ideal for kids, during spring and summer ocean is calm like a pool and is not deep in the far 20 meters.
The explanation of why this beach is not crowded is because it is more confortable to get this place by own car, there is public transportation on the highway to tulum from Playa but still need to walk to the beach for about 25 minutes.
For sure a place to mark as a must and visit!

This is one of the nicest place in the riviera maya. It's only 15 min south of playa del carmen and has a great location right on the beach. Food is excelent and all the amenities are super great. Paddle board, kayak and it's signature the kite surf. Nice to go with all the family, my kid loves this place and is always asking when will we go again. Great staff and nice environment. Be sure to check this place out next time you visit paradise.

We took a taxi from our hotel. Make sure and pay your drive to either come back or stay there. Not sure how you would get a ride back. The beach has a few restaurants that rent chairs and tables so you can sit and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. We spent the day drinking beer and eating some great food. Beach is clean. They have massages on the beach for 20 us dollars. Great place!

We had our wedding at KSM on 26th February 2019 and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Xphu ha is a special place for us and so after deciding to have our wedding there we got in contact with Gema who ensured that every little detail was just what we asked for. From the flowers, to the food, to the service provided by the staff everything was superb. The ceremony conducted by Veronica was absolutely beautiful. We would do it all over again if we could and it really was the best day of our lives, spent with our closest family and friends, at one of our favourite places.
A massive thank you to Gema, Manuel, Anderson, Pablo and all the staff at KSM for making our day so so special.

"Hi guys ! we rest in the Resort of Catalonia, but while walking along the beach we paid attention to your restaurant. A guy in uniform came up to us and invited us to dine with you, we ordered lunch the next day, we arrived at exactly one o’clock and were waiting for us, they prepared such lobsters and shrimps that we hadn’t eaten so deliciously in our life. It was just super, served very nicely, the service is top notch, the dinner was just awesome. Thanks a lot. We were photographed. Is it possible to get photos? If possible, please send me. Thanks ,"

Привет ребята ! мы отдыхаем в Резорт Каталонии , но прогуливаюсь по пляжу обратили внимание на ваш ресторанчик . К нам подошел парень в униформе и пригласил отобедать у вас , мы заказали обед на следующий день , мы пришли ровно в час и нас ожидали , нам приготовили таких лобстеров и креветок , что мы в жизни ещё так вкусно не ели . Это было просто супер , подали очень красиво , обслуживание на высшем уровне , обед был просто потрясающе. Спасибо огромное. Нас фотографировали . Возможно ли получит фотографии? Check out Xpu Ha beach several options. Serenity luxury Eco camping is VERY NICE it is next to KSM.... It is north of Akumal & south of Playa Del Carmen.

Hello,
I've emailed several times to KSM trying to get information on your rentals and lessons for kite surfing and whether or not you have windsurfers for rent, but have never got an answer. Coming in late March and staying at Catalonia Royal Tulum. Is this resort close to your operation? Is there a better email address or phone number to call for more info?

It's relatively close, You can get walking beach from your hotel (2km more o less) You`ve the services ask(SPA, SKITESURF WINDSURF PADLESURF ETC) and material renting
