I’m writing this review very late but have to say how good my experience was with Aqua Excursions. I did my open water course here with Enrique who is a great instructor. You trust him implicitly when in the water with him. I am a very confident swimmer but felt a bit claustrophobic doing my dives and nearly stopped the course halfway through. But the base leader Fhercho talked me through all the safety processes that are in place and gave me so much reassurance. On my third dive I found my confidence and became totally addicted-paying for additional dives after my course. Thank you so much to all the guys here for their patience and kindness. They have given me a skill that I will enjoy for the rest of my life! If you are thinking of learning to dive please do it here.

We were staying at Grand Palladium (TRS) in Sept 2021 and I done 10 dives in Mexico prior to this trip. I had never got to use Aquaexcursions services before. I was looking forward to diving Cozumel (again) and some Cenote dives. Chris was our divemaster. I had hoped to dive Dos Ojos army Cenote dives. Fortunately, Chris had other plans. This is Chris' best Cenote dive site and we quickly found out why. It was not crowded and close to GP. Besides the dives, 2 tanks in 2 caverns, most of the divers on the site were clearly experienced cave divers (yes, there were the warning signs to the entrance to the real caves). The overhead environment was such that it felt more cave than cavern but it was extremely safe. The average depth was quite shallow so our dives were long. It is cold so bring a wet suit, I had a shorty and was not too cold. I will also bring a hood next time. I have done 15 dives to date, four in Cozumel, including a wreck and "the Wall. Taj Mahal ranks as Two of the best dives I've ever done! The dives in Cozumel were a reef and drift dive in shallow water. About Chris, I cant speak too highly of him. He was excellent, very funny and gave us a fantastic safe experience. His confidence spread to us divers. I would dive and train with him any day! The staff was quite welcoming and generous with their time, particularly Mizraim who was funny and informative. I was just "whatsapp(ing)" with him this morning. I also was also fortunate to meet Mike ,the owner, and we discussed doing my Advanced Open Water (plus rescue) on my next trip. I cannot recommend these guys enough when diving in Riviera Maya and I look forward to next year when I can dives fantastic sites with funny, experienced staff!

I used Aquaexcursions to complete my Advanced Open Water diving certification. I had planned this months in advance and prepaid. It took much back and forth to make sure I was getting what I wanted. When I got there I checked in with the dive shop on Viva Azteca property and found out that I couldn't do one of the specialties I had picked, wreck, as they weren't going the day I had chosen, I also found out that they would do the shark dive, online had told me no. So I chose Drift which was a good learning dive. The other thing was that I had to goto Viva Maya location as they had all the gear. Maya was 4 hotels over.

So on the day I had chosen, I walked over to Maya and met up with my Instructor Jan, and got geared up. We then went to catch the boat, we were on the big Scuba Caribe boat so plenty of room. Jan went over everything I needed to do and what was expected. The Drift dive was very cool and was a good experience, we also saw 3 large sea turtles feeding on the bottom. The navagation dive later was also very good as visibility was low so I actually had to navigate. Thanks Jan.

My only negative is the online aspect. They don't actually know what the dive center can and can't do, and don't know the dive centers schedule.

The guys at the center were great, very friendly and helpful. They said it's best if you see them right away when you get there and they can set you up for what every you want to do.

This dive shop tries hard , but has missed the boat, so to speak , certainly not the 5 star dive shop I was led to believe. Had three new divers with our group . Waited two hours on the beach on our last day for the boat , guess our time wasn't valuable. When we got on there was about nine or ten new divers on the dive !! I would compare it to a Cuban dive operation. My biggest complaint is that when I tried to pay with pesos , they wanted to add on about $75 USD over normal exchange rates . And this is already after charging me $450 USD for 3 discover Scuba and a one tank dive. I have dived a lot all over Caribbean, Mx., Curacao, Turks, Grenada, St Lucia, Roatan, Etc. The dive instructors were good and tried hard , though. This whole Mayan area thinks they are part of the U.S. , its sad to say the least.

eMailed and no response.
Compared prices and far more expensive than Scuba Caribe. Online costs more than at the resort, despite saying you save 15% if you book in advance. I asked for costs and it was $89 USD for a single dive, not including tank & full rental.

What a complete deception! They advertise and email you that it is an all day trip with lunch "by the sea" 6:30 AM - 5:35 PM This did not happen. They take you to the ferry to Cozumel, once on the other side you get in a dive boat. They stay on the ferry side of the island and let you snorkel for 2-3 hours then take you back to the ferry. We were offered fruit out of a plastic container and a roll out of a plastic bag.. These are facts. Do not waste your time.

Back diving with Aqua Excursions, I haven't been to this resort for a few years, tried something new. I dove, in the DR, Jamaica, for a change but this company tops them all by a mile. I never feel uneasy or unsafe, they are great at what they do. Did the Cenote a second time due to weather, Chris was great as usual. Did 3 shore dives with Rudy. always a pro, all great dives. Very surprising what you can see just off the beach, rays, turtles, eels, lion fish.

Keep up the great wok guys
Thanks again

we booked a full day snorkeling trip to Cozomel. Conclusion: not recommended at all.
the staff at the hotel was totally unmotivated (I talked to two guys), the boat was a disaster, the food was bad. Finally, guided snorkeling with a life jacket was the low point. Unfortunately we didn't see much either. It was time and money wasting

Had an awesome experience with our guide Jaime on a recent trip to Riviera Maya. Jaime picked us up at our resort, Grand Palladium Colonial and brought us to our first stop to snorkel with sea turtles. Next, he drove us into the jungle to snorkel in a cenote. He made this experience so much fun! After we enjoyed lunch and got to see some wildlife. Highly recommend this excursion! Thanks Jaime!!!

Worst dive center ever seen, worst see (see pictures) and worst of all: they accept only advance payments (now I know why!!)

11 days vacation with family and friends at Grand Sirenis resort. Because we only have limited time (having families we want to spend time with) we accept the horrendous prices the only dive center within the resort has and each one of us spends over 1,000 USD for a package (local dives, Cenotes, Cozumel and Whale Shark snorkeling). Because one of us does not want to dive caves or caverns we explicitly ask for „open top“ cenotes and they have been promised to us. Also the whale shark experience was sold to us as follows: „...at least 3 turns, each 15 minutes with the whale shark ...“

The reality:
- local dives were sold as deep dives ... turned out to be max. 17 mt. each time (reef is ok but nothing going on and almost no fish anywhere big or small)
- Cenotes: the entrance was underneith a small „pool“ and the next exit 10 minutes away (!!!). It turned out that one of us had problems and luckily the dive guide was well prepared but the exit was quite far away. After the first dive we asked for the „open dome“ route but there was none
- whale shark: we luckily made 3 turns each (always only 2 guests and 1 guide in the water) less then 2 minutes (totally less then 5 minutes in the water for 209$ !!! -> 199$ + 10$ marine park fee + tips)
- Cozumel: good diving but again: we were promised deep dives that turned out to be no deeper then 15 mt. (Because most marine life happens between 10 and 15 mt. we were told right before the dive)
