I must say that I was not surprised but glad that their whole staff exceeded our expectations, Jose, Thomas, Elsa, Ezequiel and their whole boat crew are not only amazing individuals but excellent at their craft, professional beyond expectations and our visit will forever have been one of the best life experiences anyone could have. I can’t wait to come back and continue my daughter’s education to advanced diver. Thank you so much Stephan for putting such team together and enhance peoples lives.

I spent the PADI with Reef Marina as well as 2 cenote dives (Kukulcan and Chac Mool). Cenote dives are just beautiful. It was a timeless moment and clearly the highlight of the trip. Dive preferably on a good weather day to get the sun's rays! Stephan and the instructors are very professional, we feel safe and as a bonus they are friendly. Stephan (French) is very responsive and always eager to help, thank you very much. I highly recommend the Reef Marina!

We stayed at Reef 28, but dove with this organization. My recommendation? Stay at Reef Coco Beach and dive directly with these folks. I was diving with these guys last week with 3 other experienced divers. They took us to marvelous dive sites both off Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, all office and dive staff were competent, helpful, cheerful and generally a pleasure to work with. My only ding is that the dive boat we went on from the resort was very small and cramped for up to 12 divers. Boat exits were via back rolls over a dense forest of dive tanks stacked next to each other. Not ideal, particularly in choppy seas.

Great experience!!!
I’m from Canada, specifically Montreal, Quebec and I had the chance to explore Chac Mool, Kukulkan and Little Blender.
Simply magical and amazing diving, it’s like we’re on another planet!👍❤️
I was fortunate to have, for my first Cenote for life, Claude Marquis as my guide.
Exactly the style of orientation and support I wanted to have for a first experience of this kind!!!

Super unsafe boat practices. The accepted practice for drift dives is for the boat to follow the divers, to be nearby in case of emergency. This company has their boats leave divers in fast current while they ferry other people back and forth to their shop, meaning the divers have no one to help if they surface in an emergency and the boat has no idea where the divers really are when they need to find them. I didn’t know this was their normal practice until they explained it after, but it was made brutally clear how unsafe it is when we surfaced at the end of a normal 50 min dive and were left to wait at the surface for 33 min in rough seas while being pushed farther and farther from shore. Other boats from the same company drove by, saw us but didn’t stop despite us waving for help. We were in the process of trying to swim against the current to reach shore when we were finally picked up, exhausted. There was no explanation or apology by the crew, and when we complained to the manager we were ignored - after 3 days he admitted receiving our complaint but had no comment. Don’t risk your safety here!

The staff at Reef Marina is great, very communicative and organized (though, when they have a big group, things can feel a bit chaotic). Their gear - including the boat - were well-maintained but definitely used, though the staff worked hard to make sure minor malfunctions were handled and did not ruin anyone's dives. We had told the shop that we hoped to see bull sharks without doing a static bull shark dive, but unfortunately the dive sites they chose for our group were not conducive to that. If we come back to Playa del Carmen for bull shark diving, we would consider going with Reef Marina.

As mentioned in my review for The Reef 28, I wanted to take the time to review the dive center, we used as well. The team, led by Stephan, is incredibly nice and forthcoming. The entire team, from the management, to the guides, the captains and support staff is so accommodating and nice. Our initial plan, as we only had 3 dive days, was to dive in locally on the 1st day, then go to Cozumel for the 2nd day and dive the Cenotes on the 3rd day. However, after learning the time investment to get to Cozumel, although completely arranged and organized by the Reef Marina, was more than we wanted to spend, we decided to stay local on day 2 as well. And we were so happy to have decided that. We got the chance to dive our 1st wreck, Mama Vina. It was a great experience and Lucio, our guide, was so great in pointing out all the sea life, from large so small. He had a fantastic sense of humor and a great knowledge of the area. Cosefa, who was our guide on day 1, was so lovely and nice, we had a great time with her as well. She was very attentive to my hesitation of the currents and with her advice and attention during the dive, the currents ended up being nothing to me. We had 2 great dives with her. Stephan was so kind to collect us every morning from our hotel to take us to the dive center. The center itself is really nice and ideally located at the beach of another Reef Resort - Coco Beach. Everything went flawlessly. We also greatly appreciated their flexibility to change our dive schedule, when we decided Cozumel, where we dove before, was not something we wanted to do. I have read reviews that the boat captains were surly or unfriendly. That was not our experience. They were focused on their job, to get us everywhere safely and to collect dive groups in a timely fashion. But whenever I said good morning or thanked them when disembarking, they had a big smile and friendly words for us. If you find yourself in Playa del Carmen, at one of the Reef Resorts, or elsewhere close by, do feel confident that you are in great hands with the Reef Marina team. We will certainly be back for more!

Thank you very much Martina for your words! We are very happy that you enjoyed it and that both the dives and the logistics were to your liking, even that you were enthusiastic to go for more. If you are in Playa again, don't hesitate to come and visit us! Best regards

The Bulls are running and Reef Marina - Coco Beach took us to see them several times during our 6 day stay. On arrival to PDC, we learned that our regular shop was not able to provide service for our group. Jose & Stephen at Reef Marina stepped up and provided our group with an amazing experience. They were very accommodating which was very much appreciated. During our stay at Reef-Coco Beach, we did a total of 4 bull Shark dives, 8 reef dives and 2 cenote dives. We had great dive guides on every dive. Our guides were attentive and helpful. Leo was great. He gave good briefings, was very helpful getting in and out of the water as well as defending us from those pesky trigger fish on the shark dive lol. At the end of each day, they washed and stored our gear for the next day. Each morning we showed up. We found our gear in our bins waiting for us to gear up and head out to the boat. The service was great. They even helped us by changing up the schedule a bit to try and time some dive with the weather that was coming in. They really went out of their way to make sure we had a great vacation. We have another trip planned for July. Looking forward to seeing the crew again.

Many others have written glowing reviews of this dive shop. I feel
compelled to add mine because it was just that good. Booking with Stephan, the owner, remote from the US was super easy. My buddy and I did two separate days of dives. The first was two reefs not far from the dive shop, maybe 15 minutes by boat. Drift dives where we saw all sorts of marine life on a beautiful reef. The current was strong but it did not detract from the experience. Tomas the dive master, was great. Friendly and knowledgeable. The second day of diving, the Chac-Mool and Kukulkan cenotes about 30 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen, was beyond spectacular. Adrian was our dive master and he was fantastic. Easy going and personable. Yannick was the manager on the second day and he was great also. Love that all the guys we dealt with were French. Nice extra touch. You can read more about these cenote dives in other reviews, but I can’t imagine ever having a better dive experience. It was surreal. The value was great and these guys overdelivered. 10/10 for sure.
