While on vacation near Playa De Carmen recently, we booked a half-day tour of Tulum with this company. We were picked up at our hotel promptly by our driver Roberto. When we arrived at the Tulum, we were greeted by Mario, our Tour Guide. We were part of group of approx. 16. Mario was very personable and knowledgeable. While he lead us through the ruins he would find a place in the shade and share information about the culture, history and spiritual reference and relevance. Mario was prepared to answer all our inquisitive questions and added interjected humour appropriately. We could not have asked for a better tour guide! We feel that Mario’s expert knowledge and engaging people skills provided us with an exceptional experience of our visit to Tulum. He gave us enough free time to explore on our own and take pictures. Rendezvous information was clear and well coordinated, so that we rejoined our driver Roberto at he end of the tour. We were very appreciative of the ice cold washcloth Roberto provided us on our return to the van, along with the snacks and water.
Next time you’re in Mexico in travel distance to see the ruins at Tulum, we recommend you consider Cancun Adventures and maybe you’ll be fortunate to have Roberto and Mario provide you with the excellent service we enjoyed! Thank you Roberto and Mario

2 of us did a trip to Coba and Akumel bay. Our guide was Leire, she was personable and very informative, the information was interesting and applicable. Julian was our driver and he was friendly and a great companion on our trip.

The extra stop we made was appreciated and made the was the extra in this trip that made it memorable (and of course Happy Birthday to Leire! Hope you survived your fiesta :D )

We booked this excursion through sunwing and the price was on point with anything you'd find on the streets of playah del carmen.

Thanks again Leire and Julian!

We did 3 trips with Cancun Adventures during our stay in Tulum: Chichen Itza, Tulum (with Cenote & snorkeling), and Coba and had great tour guides but we have to give a shout out Alan Hoill. Alan's passion for history made the tour come alive. He described in detail what life would have been like, the features of the artifacts, how they lived, slept, ate, worked, and played. Alan brought along books, that were tabbed to show us photos, that he would reference and show us. Traveling in the van he was so considerate and informative as we drove into small towns and he would tell us about the current residence and how they live and work. Alan is the reason I love taking tours because when you find someone so enthusiastic they make the experience for the traveler so exciting as well. We had a wonderful time, ate at a fantastic Mayan restaurant, COVID safety was always in place always (except when we took the photo) and we highly recommend Cancun Adventures.

We decided to go on the luxury sailing excursion for our trip to the Riveria Maya. The info we got from Sunwing was that the bus picked us up and drove us to Playa Del Carmen which was a 30 minute bus ride. We ended up leaving out of Cancun which was an hour and 20 minute bus ride so we were confused but thought maybe the itinerary just changed. When we arrived we waited around and signed forms and got wrist bands only to be told that due to weather we couldn't go snorkelling or do any included water sports such as paddle boarding. (This made up at least 50% of what the excursion was promoting). We were told we could come back tomorrow or continue with the day. We were annoyed that we just spend over an hour on the bus only to be told this once we got off. We decided to stay only because we were sick of being on the bus and didnt want to repeat this all again the next day. We were offered no compensation or anything for not receiving the full experience we paid for which would have made everything better. The crew all worked hard to make the day fun still despite it being extremely wavy and we ended up still having a fun time! I was just disappointed that there was no other alternative other than driving us back to the resort and rebooking for the next day. A voucher or partial refund would have made this excursion 5 stars.

Tulum yakul plus tour. 5+ hours in a van, do not recommend. We had excellent guides Nestor and driver Julio buy I encourage you to read the whole review. This tour takes you to the Mayan city of Tulum, swimming in a cenote, snorkeling at Akumal, and then lunch. We were picked up from our hotel in cancun and driven to the excursion. When I talked with the travel agent at my hotel I explicitly said I wanted a tour with very little driving. I wanted to go somewhere and stay there for the day exploring. He suggested this tour. Wow was that wrong. This tour involves 5 hours or more in a car. It was a grueling 10 hour day of driving, being dropped off and then driving 45 mins to the next destination. It was absolutely awful being driven in a van around cancun's bumpy busy roads all day. It completely destroyed the fun of the activity. I would not recommend this tour to anyone staying in cancun. Only sign up for this if you are staying in playa del Carmen or tulum as you will drive quite a bit less. There were 8 of us on the tour and we talked quite a bit about the quantity of driving involved. Every single person on the bus said that their travel agent said there would be little to no driving on this tour. We were told it would be 2 hours of driving maximum. We specifically asked the total time in the car. If anyone knew how much time you spend in a van NO ONE would ever pay for this tour. I feel like our guide Nestor knew that we were lied to because he kept trying to reassure us that it wasn't that bad and we would be there soon. We were all pretty pissed about it. And the worst part about it is that we didn't know it would be 5 hours on the bus until we were already 1.5 hours into the day. We couldn't back out and leave cause we were halfway across the damn city. The whole day felt rushed and pressed for time. Our "lunch" was served at the end of the day almost 230pm and we were all so exhausted and hungry that it was rough to enjoy. And at the end we were quickly hustled out the door so we could drive 3 hours back to our hotel.

What's even more frustrating is that we both speak Spanish and felt that communication was not an issue with the travel agent. We specifically communicated our desires and then were lied to directly. This whole tour should not be packaged as such and if anything only one stop should be made and then people should return home.

Nov 2019
We used Cancun adventures for a half day catamaran excursion and snorkeling out of Puerto Adventuras on the afternoon of November 6, 2019. When we arrived some of the guests due to go on the excursion were already drunk and disorderly. The guide advised that he did not want the guests to go on the excursion and everyone was in agreement as it is not a "party booze cruise". Everyone was glad but as we were getting ready to leave, to our surprise, the guests boarded the boat. The manager decided to override the tour guides decision and let them go on the tour. About half way through the tour, one of the drunk guests proceeded to get angry and yell at the tour guide and some other guests. It was so bad that we felt we had to ride in the back to get away from them. It was our nieces first time in Mexico and was terrified of the situation. We feel the manger put profits over guest experience which is why I cannot recommend this tour company nor will I use again. I will say the guide was awesome and it is too bad our experience was ruined by the managers decision.

My husband and I went in our honeymoon to Mexico. We booked an excursion to the city of Tulum, complete with a visit to an underground river (cenote) and snorkeling in a lagoon. Our tour guide, Garbine (or Garby) was so kind and genuine. She had so much knowledge of the history of Tulum and the Mayan Riviera, which made our trip that much more memorable. Our driver, Richie was also great. We felt comfortable in their hands and had an experience we will never forget!

Our trip was amazing to say the least. The ruins were beautiful, the underground rivers were stunning, and the snorkeling was so fun. What really made this excursion be as excellent as it has been was the tour guide (Lalo) as well as the driver (Pablo). Lalo and Pablo were not only kind and funny but they also had an extensive knowledge of the mayan culture and Mexico’s rich history. With jokes, fun facts, and ancient mayan mythological stories as well as the activities there was not one dull moment the entire day. When you book with Cancun adventures I strongly recommend asking for Lalo and Pablo to insure a fun and exciting time.

We booked our snorkeling tour through our Costco travel and could not be happier with the experience. My teen daughters and I felt safe, loved the crew and were well taken care of! Highly recommend the adventure. The pictures Leonel took (we purchased) will be treasured and talked about for many years! Crystal and her crew were patient, informative and very funny.

We had an awesome time with Mali (if I remember correctly)!
We didn’t know what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised that the tour was a small group!

We started out with some great info on the way to Coba, and learned a lot from our private tour through the ruins. We thoroughly enjoyed the climb up Nohoch Mul, and the views were great! The Maya Uber was fun as well, and our driver was racing the others :)

A short stop at the Maya Coop was great as well, as we could purchase items locally made.

From there we headed out to Akumal, a stunning beach, and we went snorkelling along the turtle preserve. We saw many fish, stingrays and 4 sea turtles, one was HUGE! We snorkelled for about 45 minutes which was just the right amount of time.

From there we headed off to Cancun Adventures private beach area for a great lunch and took the opportunity to eat, and relax in their beach beds and chairs.

It was a whirlwind trip, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The driver Jorge, kept an eye on all our personal belongings which we were allowed to keep in the vehicle while we did the tours, and we were ways greeted with snacks (cookies and bananas), as well as ice cold water each time we returned to the van.

My only criticisms are that we would have loved to spend more time at Cncun Aventures private beach! We had 1 hour there, but could have easily spent another hour just relaxing and eating. We also would have loved to see a few more of the ruins at Coba that were missed.

All in all, well worth it. Mali and Jorge were very professional and informative, and Mali was there with us every step of the way, even in the water.

Thanks for the great and memorable day!
