Lots of things to see and purchase. Very busy and happening area. I almost gave this 4 out of 5 but because of the aggressiveness of the locals trying to sell you things it kind of put a damper on things. Most would leave you...More

We were entertained by the vast array of cheap tshirts, keychains, etc. There were also an amazing number of hawkers pressuring us to look in their shops, including some who also worked at our hotel and called to us, reminding us they worked at the...More

this is a fun place to hang out but quickly becoming very commercial and Americanized. Over the past several years we have watched as it has changed from a laid back place to eat, shop, and interact with locals to a commercial center with a...More

Not all that. Lots of sellers which I hated. Very crowded and everyone wants your attention. Stores were not anything special either.

This is our version of a boardwalk, an entire street closed off to traffic, with bars, restaurants, and all sorts of shops are lined up for 20 city blocks.

Beware of drug dealers on 4th st and 6th st, they hang out in some bars like Jannah so be careful buying drugs since they are very bad for you and you never know who you are dealing with

yes there are a few pharmacias along the strip that sell beer and soda and water.
I will be traveling to Playa del Carmen next month and I'm thinking our resort probably doesn't stock the Bacardi Limon Rum that I prefer to drink. Does anyone know if I'm able to purchase it at a liquor store in town and if so any idea where I might find it? Also, do they carry a seltzer like they carry in the US?
