Our tour to Chichen Itza was arranged by Julie Menasco and conducted by Hugo with his driver Luis. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and charmed by both men. They had a wonderful sense of humor that enhanced all of the amazing history of the Mayan Civilization. It was a fascinating experience where we learned a great deal and were treated with the utmost regard for our every need. The Mexican buffet lunch was also authentic and terrific along with the opportunity to swim in the Caldera. Accolades to this tour group and thanks for an unforgettable day.

I am sorry, but you just rated the wrong guide, there is no Hugo and no Luis here and I don't have a SenderoMaya tour.

Where to start? Volker is knowledgeable, fun, and all around great!!! The reviews here are true to his performance as a tour guide. I could listen to his stories for hours. It is amazing how knowledgeable he is about this region and I absolutely love the fact that he is giving back to the community while providing a great tour for his guest. I learned alot and feel very humbled by my experience. Thank you Volker!!! I would highly recommend and hope to be back soon for your #2!

THIS is THE way to get a real sense of Mexico. Volker arrived at our very difficult to find hotel near 5th Ave. in PDC. We casually proceeded to the various stops on the Mexico Lindo tour. By "casual" I mean NON-RUSHED, completely and fully described and experienced. This was our 3rd trip to Mexico, and the insight and knowledge imparted to us by Volker made the remainder of our stay so much more meaningful and enjoyable. It's quite apparent that Volker has a deep love and appreciation for Mexico and its people. Our subsequent trips to the Yucatan WILL include a Volker excursion.

Volker picked us up from our hotel exactly on time, 5:30 am. Seemed early, but he knew that by getting to the ruins early we would beat the heat and the crowds. All day long we were one step ahead of the large tour buses. Volker told us stories about what we would see and he was full of interesting facts about the area and the people. He also took us to some great shops and attractions off the beaten path where we were able to get some great finds, including authentic Mayan chocolate. We had a great day with him at a reasonable price. We would recommend him to anyone visiting the Cancun/Riviera Maya area!

Whenever and wherever my husband and I travel, we always hire tour guides so we gain the full experience and history of the area(s) we are visiting. This time was no different except that I booked my tour on-line based on reviews I had read instead of getting referrals from people I know. I was very nervous hoping I had chosen a reputable tour service. We could not have been more pleased with Volker. We spent the day with him for the Mexico Lindo tour and then a half day for a tour to Tulum. Volker picked us up promptly, and in route to our first destination at a working jungle camp, gave us a history lesson. He was well versed in Mexican history, horticulture and Mayan medicinal uses for plants native to the area, and understanding of the culture. We were thrilled to end up in a small town of which there were no tourists, and we were able to witness everyday life via tricitaxi, all the while receiving a history lesson. We ate fresh juice and tortillas, visited a local wood maker, home and cemetery and got a close look at daily life. We also visited a cenote, quiet, and with no tourists. Though too cold, due to a few days of rain, to swim on the day we went it was a beautiful site. Volker also helped negotiate prices for many items I wanted to purchase at the market. I always find that tour guides can be extremely valuable in saving money on purchases and this was no exception. We ended our tour with a lunch of fresh fish tacos at a beach-side restaurant. A few days later Volker picked us up for a half day tour of Tulum at our request for a shortened tour. my husband And I wanted a quick history overview of Tulum without the crowds and with a guide who could provide so much more information than walking the park alone All in all, We truly had a wonderful day on both tours. Though I know he will develop a tour suitable for each party, we, personally, appreciated a non-touristy tour and it was evident he has built great relationships with the locals to be able to provide such an intimate tour of their lives. Without hesitation, I would book my next tour in the Yucatan region with ONLY Volker.
