Has a little bit of everything

Was a short walk away from where we stayed in Playa del Carmen. Has a little bit of everything in case you run out of a necessity like sun screen. Also souvenirs to purchase.

My girls and I really enjoyed walking through the Plaza Playacar Market. There definitely were more shops than I expected. We all purchased amazing souvenirs. My husband even purchased a Tennessee Titans skull, and he NEVER buys anything for himself when we travel. My only negative comment is this: some of the sellers are very pushy and do not allow... Ok for a few items you might have forgot. We couldn't bring our sunscreen so we walked up from the hotel and purchased some. It cost us $12.50 US so buyer beware. We rode bicycles to Walmart and paid less than $6 US a couple of days later

I hadn't reviewed this before because I didn't know what it was called so couldn't really know how to find where to put the review. Fortunately when doing a hotel search this photo popped up on my screen. I immediately remembered the great little mall we returned to twice. Our first trip to Playa, we stayed right nearby it in... You don't need to trek to 5th Avenue. We found everything we wanted, in a relaxed atmosphere. Purchased real Mexican Vanilla, tequila, chocolate, t-shirts, and a nice locally made bowl. And ask for Willy for a good deal on a tour.

Visited here a few times during our stay as it was right opposite our hotel, riu playacar! There's a lot of shops to look round that sell near enough everything. The drug and deli store sell great crisps, drinks and snacks. We went to Starbucks a lot of times as its right next to these shops. Ideal to get gifts... More

Other than Starbucks, only one shop here that we would recommend which is Las Perlas (review submitted). Photo of shop added here, as was not given option to add to Las Perlas review (perhaps because no one else has yet reviewed). Note they are building mall right next to Plaza - not sure how that will impact the plaza.

Visited May 2016, I would recommend as not a lot difference in price possibly $3 more here, but unless you walk, it costs you more in a taxi. I recommend the excursion tour shop, situated next to the coffee shop, it's cocha and reliable and the trips are very good and prices good. If you need a pharmacy or supermarket,... More
