We stayed at the riu palace mexico (playacar) - xcaret was about ten minutes away from playacar on the xcaret bus. The bus can be booked at the same you book tickets. The riu palace mexico was excellent. Good luck.

When you arrive at the park, everyone is guided to an area where you have an opportunity to purchase any of the additional excursions. We didn't book the sea trek but you can purchase any of them when you get there.
