In Xcaret there are underground rivers, horses show, all type of animals, restaurants and the best is the night show. To make the most of our day, we followed the map for the various areas we wanted to see. This is our third visit and we still get excited to see the animals, snorkel in the underground rivers and swim at the beach. The show started at 7pm which was late after spending the day walking and swimming at the park. We recommend they start the show earlier since there are a lot of families with children and the show last two hours 7-9pm. The customs, the drama and music were amazing, a must see. We didn't get the ticket with the buffet included. We just bought food (a la carte) or drinks whenever we were hungry. In prior visits the food at the buffets was cold, not worth the price you pay with the ticket. Overall we recommend a visit to Xcaret if you are in Playa del Carmen or Cancun.

This is quite popular. I was more interested in the night show so only booked a night pass (which is really not that much less than the all day pass) but I had plenty of time in the park to do the River and visit the Mayan village. It is well organized with nice colored lines to help you find your way.

In regards to Covid safety the park is doing measures but guests are not social distancing and many are not wearing masks. During the show the mask wearing was better and all the dancers in the show are wearing masks.

It is great to visit, probably a bit too expensive for what it is.

I would put this nature reserve/ecological park at the top of the list of things to do.
The park is laid out beautifully, and has many attractions, we were there a full day and didn’t do half the things. The park is very clean, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
We booked a tour that included transportation to and from our resort, entrance fees, a locker, changing rooms/showers and buffet lunch. It was the “Xcaret Plus”
Vicki we went to the beach, had a buffet lunch, which could’ve had some more selections, and the underground river; note that there are three different rivers, and not all of them offer snorkeling options (but are included in Xcaret Plus).
We paid extra to do swimming with the sharks. Yes, sharks! It was fantastic.
We opted not to do the show. We think it may be geared to children.
There is also an extensive dedicated area in the park for children.
We also paid $60 for the photo package. There are numerous photo opportunities - Simply scan your bracelet, pose for the picture which is taken in a few seconds, take as many shots as you like, and you have access to all your photos online. This is by far the best photo package of any park we have ever visited.
I must commend the park especially for finding my phone and credit cards which I had left in a random spot. They had logged the return item in their database and were able to return it to us fairly promptly.
There were a lot of people when we went - probably one of the busiest times of the year, but we had no trouble getting access to anything. I would recommend going to the beach or other attractions first, everyone seems to go right to the river when they enter the park. Even then, the staff was kind enough to point out that we may want to come back later because it was crowded.
Plan on being there the entire day, start to finish. It’s well worth the trip.

Everything started at the hotel, they sold us the tour saying that it would take just over an hour to get there, it took us 3 hours, between picking up people at other hotels and going to their transport center where they put us on a bus that left after almost half an hour. When I got there I saw many people with a printed map but when you were going to ask there was no map, all activities are not included in the ticket, The aviary was very dirty and birds that seemed to be drugged didn’t move, especially the macaws and parrots. very sad. Huge park get ready. The show at night does not sell food unless you contract the special dinner package so if you go only watch it, there are not even snacks, children go hungry until dawn when they arrive at the hotel.

Dear visitor, Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that your experience in our eco-park didn't meet your expectations. We would like to comment that the park has more than 50 natural and cultural attractions and it's worth mentioning that the optional activities have an additional price due to the high maintenance cost, in addition to being more personalized experiences with a limited capacity. For this reason, they are not included in the regular admission price in order to keep our admissions fee as accessible as possible It's important to mention that all the species which co-exist into the park are well taken care of. Their areas not only meet international requirements, but exceed them. Besides, each animal has a special diet and receives preventive medicine. You can be sure that we do our best to keep them safe and living in excellent conditions; they are part of the Grupo Xcaret family and we love them. Let us share with you that our Visitor Service Team are always in the best disposition to support you in anytime and providing you all the information you need. They are distributed throughout all the park in order to cover a larger area. In case you wish, you can download the park map, which is available on our official website. Regarding the transport, we are constantly working on optimize the transport times in all our services. Some factors such as the distance from a hotel to the park, traffic and weather affect transfer times and they are situations, which are beyond our reach. As far as possible and when our guests contact us through our Reservation Center, we recommend staying in hotels near the parks to speed up transportation times. We would love to have you back. We went to Xcaret last week, it was a great experience. We carefully managed our itinerary and did both the Blue River and the Maya River.

Our suggestion:
1. Pack light so that you can skip the lockers. They have great system to bring your stuff to the end of the river.
2. If you are buying the plus ticket, hold your buffet option till late in the afternoon. It would be a long day in the park if you stay for the show. Eat breakfast before you enter, and buy some snacks if you are hungry around mid-day. Eating the buffet around 4-5pm is a better option in terms of managing the energy level with less disruption to your itinerary.
3. You may consider do all the dry activities first (brown, white and blue routes) first and then go to the river. That way you may avoid the big hurdle of people in the river and have the comfort of walking around with your dry clothes as much as you could.
5, Stay and see the show!!! You won't regret it.

We’ve been here a few times and always get the plan that includes meals and equipment/ lockers. We went thru the Cenotes river twice, ate good food, went thru the aquarium, played in natural pools, but the butterfly sanctuary was closed this time and restaurants limited due to COVID. I’d recommend taking a good waterproof cell bag or buying one there. You do have options to scan your bracelet and take photos all over the park, but we had 5 ppl
In our group and although only scanned 2 bracelets and had hardly any pics, they charge per person in your group anyway, so it would have been like $120 for hardly any pics. They do have a great children’s area with splash pads, bridges, ropes walls to scale and ropes to climb down, and water slides. It’s a cool park for families. We have been to the flying men show but most of the shows start fairly late so we don’t usually watch them. They also have a lot of parrots and flamingos, which was fun for the kids.

This park was BEAUTIFUL!
We bought Xcaret Plus tickets & all that meant was that we would have access to a beautiful underground/cave river & included access to the lockers as well as 1 buffet sit. We booked this trip at our hotel through one of the agents working with Expedia. He didn’t let us know it would be an ALL day trip (also one fault for not asking while we were booking). The whole bus ride there we were presented which a big range of activities for us to reserve when we got to the park. However we were never told none of them were included & it would all be an extra cost per activity so I didn’t like the way they did that.
We ended up deciding to only do 1 activity which was the Sea Trek & the 2 people photo package which was the greatest idea ever made. The park is HUGE. There’s different color lines on the paths to make it easier to find different places to get to. We walked around the park from about 9:45-1:30 then headed to the lockers to change into our swimsuits & competed the Sea Trek. I got to feed sting rays & touch them which was a cool experience.
We then floated the underground river & I have no clue how to swim but still was brave enough to do it. Best experience ever!
The night shows were nice but very long. By the time you get to them you’re so worn out that you’re just ready to go home.
We walked almost all of the park so I wouldn’t recommend buying too many activities or you won’t enjoy the park.
The photo scanning package was a bracelet that you scan & there’s camera spots around the park that take your picture automatically. We took about 120 pictures & still only paid $60
So definitely a good deal to not have to worry about your phone.

I have the natural beauty of the park. It is well worth a day exploring and spend some time floating down the hidden river as well as visiting the Mayan cemetery. There are smaller shows and demonstrations throughout the day, but the grand finale is the spectacular. It starts about 7pm. You may want to wait a bit and walk when its dark. The paths are lined with men and women in Mayan costumes near torches. The show is two hours that stars with the Mayan beliefs about creation and end with the Mexican revolutions with songs and dance or other cultural aspects from many Mexican states. This is my third time in about 10 years, and each time the show is a little different but a bit better.

This park is one of the most amazing things we have ever done as a couple. Now I want you to understand that it was raining like crazy the day we went and we still came home with big smiles on our faces. To sum up this park As a cultural center for Mexico would be the right way to explain it. They love their culture and it shows. They also like for you to be immersed in as many activities as you want. If you want to caution some of those new cost quite a bit of money, however they are a lot of once in a lifetime activities that you will never forget. The highlight of the day was the show they put on at night. It talks about the history of Mexico and then goes into the 13 states and what they like to do culturally. It is full of dancing singing and a lot of things that will make you smile I felt like this was truly one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. We also have the dinner that went along with it, And I felt like that was well worth the money we paid for that as the food was outstanding. Highly recommend it do not miss it.

We got the Xcaret plus which includes a free lunch from one of their many different restaurants. Definitely worth it! Be sure to get there early and hit the lazy river first before it gets crowded. Park opens at 8:30 and the tour busses arrive at 9:00. The many shows are really good and the Mexico Expectacular show at the end of the day was hands down the best part. Amazing!! The park is huge and has so much to offer, you will want to spend all day here!
