We had the most incredible day with Pixan Travel on a private tour of Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. Our driver Eric was on time and was waiting for us at the agreed time to pick us up from the hotel. Eric is the safest and smoothest driver ever! We had an air conditioned mini bus just for the two of us. There were snacks e.g. bananas, apples, bag of nuts, oreos etc. And plenty of cold bottled water. Our guide, Diego, was excellent and incredibly knowledgable about the Mayan period. Diego spoke to us on the journey to Chicken Itza about the area and showed us interesting information using a book and an ipad. I learned a lot! At Chichen Itza, we were dropped off right outside. Diego was with us the whole time and we really enjoyed the private tour of the place. We then drove to a beautiful restaurant in nearby Valladolid and had a wonderful lunch. After that, we drove to Ek Balam which was my personal favourite part. Definitely choose the tour with Ek Balam in too. You get to climb on the ruins and look over the jungle. It was really special and something I will never forget. A red letter day! Finally, we went to a lovely cenote which was family run and not very touristy. We both thoroughly enjoyed the day and the private tour was worth the money. We would 100% recommend this company.

Wonderful experience!! Diego started out with great information on the drive so we had a history before we got to Chichen Itza. Once inside he took us through the various structures. Then allowed us to decide on shopping or more structures. That's the pleasure of private tours. Lunch was delicious! And the cenote was amazing. All around wonderful full day of history and local sites with a great guide! And Eric was the safest and smoothest driver!! Highly recommend any tour with this group!

Diego and Eric were incredible hosts, this was one of the best days of our trip. Diego shared his passion for Mayan history in a way that sparked all of our interest. We enjoyed their guiding so much, we actually arranged for Eric to take our group to Playa del Carmen a different day for dinner and shopping.

This was our first trip to Mexico and we did 4 tours with 4 different tour providers during our trip, Ocean Tours, Altournative, Pixan Travel and Xcaret. Pixan Travel was THE BEST by far. The tours all go to mostly the same places. What makes the difference is that Pixan is only private tours, their vans are newer and nicer (read better a/c, more comfortable). It's a small family run tour company, unlike the others, and you get a more authentic experience. On our tour we were the first people to the Cobs ruins and had the place practically to ourselves. The Cenote we visited was empty except for us, and the traditional Mayan meal was not the typical big buffet for all the tourists cooked by local Mayans, but an actual meal on the patio of a Mayan family home with just us and the family (and all the dogs and chickens). Diego was our guide (also an owner) and he was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend this team, Diego took us one day on private tour to Chichen Itza and he was amazing person and amazing guide. He was knowledgeable of the culture and spent time explaining all aspect of Mayan history to us. After Chichen itza he took us to Valladolid which was such a great colonial town, we had the best mole chicken we ever ate in our lives. The restaurant was hacienda style Architecture and it was experience of a lifetime. After lunch he took us to a Cenote which was not crowded but amazing experience, this is a must do. Thank you Diego for one amazing experience Pablo was another amazing person and great guide, he took us to Coba ruins and it was unbelievable experience, he had excellent knowledge of the history and culture, we had quick lunch at nearby place and drove to Tulum but the place closed one hour early due to Covid rules , Pablo sensed our disappointment so he took us to the BEST Cenote Sac Actun which was a life experience, the Cenote was officially closed but he knew the manager and manager agreed to keep generator ON just for us. We had an amazing life experience for our family having private Cenote for ourselves, we will never forget that experience Thank you Diego and Pablo for being awesome humans and amazing guides who took care of our family for 2 days, we appreciate you very much and we are grateful for what you did for us Thank you
