Arriving in Cancun we were starving and so we met Elizabeth in Puerto Morelos straight from the airport. She suggested we check out this charming little city for breakfast and a day at the beach at a beachfront bar/restaurant that has delicious chicken wings. It was a great deal for a bucket of 5 beers and 1 kilo of wings. We spent the whole day there, which was easy to enjoy. After she took us to a food truck park close by which had a great variety of food. Super hip and updated, even kids had an area to play in. The next day we headed to Tulum and had a quick bite of street tacos and headed into the ruins. The day was HOT. We then went to beachside just below the ruins. We spent the rest of the day at another beachside bar/restaurant which was so nice and relaxing. We all picked at eachothers food and love it all. That same night we went into town in Playa. We went to a restaurant off the strip, which was a great local eatery. Great choice. The next day we went to an AMAZING cenote in the jungle and we ate Panuchos from a street cart. YUM! Then we went to snorkel with the turtles and then eat at a beach front restaurant bar. When we got back to Playa we ate Italian food and we ordered enough for 4 people and it was delicious! We ordered 2 deep dish pizzas, ceasar salad, rigatoni in a tomato sauce with sausage, and a dessert! I didn’t think we would finish it all!. I can’t say enough of how good of a time we had in a short amount of time. I didn’t know what to expect when we found Elizabeth's page, Playa Del Carmen Eats and Drinks, on FB but my friend and I felt like we could trust her because her page was impressive and she seemed knowledgeable of the area. I will definitely contact Elizabeth and her husband the next time I visit but hopefully for a longer period of time. These are trustworthy people like share the love for adventure! Thank you Liz and co !

My friend and I decided to take a quick girls trip to Playa Del Carmen. We had a short amount of time and wanted to get the most out of the city, so we started with a food tour and I have to say, we ate at so many unique spots that we wouldn’t have otherwise. It gave us a real feel for the culture and authentic food. We didn’t make time to look up places to eat ahead of time or make plans of any sort so we asked, Elizabeth (our food tour guide) if she was willing to plan out our trip. Mind you we put our faith in her as we were impressed with her Playa Del Carmen Eats and Drinks FB page and her website. We are so glad we trusted our gut! Not only did she take us to cool unique spots to eat, we asked if she was willing to help us plan our excursions and we would compensate her. Elizabeth and her husband are very knowledgeable of the Yucatan area that I knew we couldn't go wrong, and I was right. I’m so glad we trusted her because in such a short amount of time we had an amazing time and had delicious food! We visited a couple beachfront bars and restaurants both equally had good food and were fun! We went to Tulum city and the Tulum ruins, we had street tacos. We stopped at a really cute food truck park on the north side of the highway that had good choices of different foods and cocktails. We went into town off of 5th avenue to walk and see what the area has to offer but we ate off the beaten path at a local spot and it was soooo good! The next day Elizabeth took us to a really cool, must see Cenote in the jungle, but first we fueled up with street cart tacos that are called Panuchos. I had never heard of these before and what a treat! They are thin corn tortillas with refried black beans cooked in the middle of it, topped with chicken or turkey, lettuce and pickled red onions......mmmmmmm!!!! Watch out the green habanero salsa will burn your mouth but man were they so good! That night we ate at an Italian restaurant in Playa and I have to say it was the best I’ve had in a long time. For 4 people to share ordered 2 deep dish pizzas, cesar salad, rigatoni with sausage in a tomato sauce and a warm brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was just enough for all of us that we still had 4 slices of pizza left! Elizabeth went above and beyond and far exceeded anything I could have expected, she even gave us some lifesaving simple ways to lower our body temperature in the extreme heat. I can’t wait to go back and I will definitely contact Elizabeth again!
