Hola Charles y Alicia Thank you for your comments. It is important to tell to the person who read Alicia and Charles comment that we are a school who takes seriously the teaching pedagogy and we try to adapt as much as possible to the students request even if what they ask is very specific as in Alicia and Charles case. If the person who reads this comment wants to know more why Charles and Alicia were disappointed with their second time at our school, here they have an extensive explanation of what happened according to the perspective of the school 1) Alicia and Charles said: Upon arrival we received news that there was no group class at our intermediate level. The school version: Alicia and Charles had requested by email private lessons for their first week because they were arriving at the middle of the week, so it is not true that at their arrival they received the bad news that there was no group with your level. Students who arrive in the middle of the week, it is difficult to integrate them into a group that started on a Monday. 2) Alicia and Charles said: “Semi-private classes were the only recommendation due to our level, we were told.” The school version: Alicia and Charles are a couple who always had requested to be together in a group even if they do not had the same level. Carlos has a beginner level and Alicia has and advance beginner level. We remind to our clients that we do not mix levels. We can put people with a different level (if the difference is small) in a private group only if the clients request to be together even after a suggestion from the teachers that it is better to not be together. We assure all students that they will be evaluated and placed in groups that correspond to their level. 3) Alicia and Charles said: We learned absolutely nothing; it was costly. The Instructor wrote nothing on the board … was unsure of herself or plainly disinterested It is important to explain that Alicia and Charles just wanted to be with the same teacher they had 14 months ago. This teacher was also their online teacher. They told us that they just can learn with him. They were not happy when we told them that this teacher was not available. 14 months ago, the same situation occurred. One day they had a different teacher and they were not happy saying that this new teacher was terrible. As a school who takes seriously the teaching pedagogy, we sell the school method. Our teachers are trained with the method and documents of the school to ensure a quality of teaching no matter who your teacher is. All our teachers work together and proof of this is that the teacher with whom they wanted to be and was not available, worked with the other teacher to do the study program. They told us that they were not learning because they wanted to learn advanced grammar concepts even if they had a beginner level. Finally, our teachers are always in constant use of the board and never use their cell phones in class. Our classrooms always have open doors, so it's easy to see that this is true. 4) Charles said: My wife complained to the director by email, requesting another class option. We subsequently left when no other options were presented. The school version: We had proposed them to continue with the private lessons because they wanted to be together and they were complaining about the program. They were the ones who decide to not continue with the school because they were not happy with the teacher’s job. We totally understand that there could be people who don’t like our teaching method. What we can assure you is that we will do all that is in our hands to propose something adapted to the needs of the students without compromising the quality of the courses. Unfortunately Alicia and Carlos felt cheated even if every day we were in constant communication explaining them their options.

I stayed here for 2 weeks with no skills in Spanish. After the 2 weeks I was able to communicate in the language! Alejandra was the perfect teacher with a lot of patient and varied lessons every day. Very well organized and everyone working here is always friendly and helpful!

Hola Jody Thank you for your comment. It helps us to explain to future students how the school works. Sorry if this comment is a bit long, but we invite the people who want to know how we work to take a few minutes to read this answer to Jody’s comment. STUDENT ASSESSMENT We are a school specialize in a method that helps students to improve their oral skills to be able to communicate and speak in Spanish regardless their level. There is a written test and an oral test to put the students in the correct class with other people who have the same level. We do not mix levels. Our team of teachers, each one with years of experience are very careful to asses each student level. Jody, you had studied previously in other schools and we understand that could be frustrating to feel that you are repeating the same things that you studied before. But when you arrived to our school, unfortunately you weren’t able to say any word in Spanish, to say simple sentence and to ask and understand simple questions to interact with other people. 3 different teachers had agree that you were beginner and the best for you was to put you in a class where you can start using in the oral way what you have learned. The teacher that you had the first 2 days, said that what you did the first 2 days of classes was good for you. Unfortunately, Jody, you had a different opinion and you wanted to be in a higher level. We didn´t move you to another class, even if we had places available, because that wouldn’t be professional for you and not be fair for the other students to put them with a student who doesn’t belong to their level. CANCELLATION POLICIES When a student does an enrolment with us, we ask to the student to commit for at least one week. If a student pays in advance more than one week but decide to not continue with the classes, the school refunds 100% of the payment that we have receive for the weeks that the student hasn’t done. If a student start one week and during the week decide not to finish the week, we do not refund the remaining days of the week that has started Jody, once you told us that you didn’t want to continue with the classes, we didn’t have a problem to refund you your second week that you had already paid. We didn’t refund you the 3 days that you decided not to come during your first week. It is important to tell, Jody, that you didn’t register with us directly; you did it with an agency. If the agency charged you an extra commission, unfortunately, we as a school we cannot refund you what you have paid to the agency. But it is important to tell to the people that the school refunds 100% for the weeks that a student do not do, as we did with you. LEVELS Every week we have all levels in Spanish, from complete beginners to high advance levels. A prove that we have all levels is that we have students who have never studied before and students who are even Spanish teachers in their country. We have a team of 6 teachers who works full time and who gives classes in the morning and in the afternoon. That’s another prove that we have different levels. If some of you want to know more about our teaching method, we will be glad to explain you how we work. What LA CALLE Spanish school offers you is a school with 9 years of experience with a team of teachers (the most experienced teacher has 20 years of experience and the least experienced has 3 years of experience teaching Spanish to adults) who assess every detail to put you in the correct class where you will gain confidence, fluency and where you are going to perfect your Spanish. Unfortunately we could not convice Jody that she was in the correct class, but we are proud to know that we have satisfied 99% of the students and proof of this are the positive comments we have in different forums and social networks.
