This hacienda was recommended to us by our hotel hostess in Progreso. After visiting a neighbouring hacienda with cenote, we stopped here for lunch. We came just a few muinuts before they opened luckily, as the huge dining area filled up quickly. The grounds are stunning, we could wander through the little museums with beautiful art work, the cenote and theatre area at the back is absolutely beautiful, I bet it would be amazing for concerts. The food in the restaurant was some of the best we have had during our trip, I had a pork dish with tasty sauce, hubby had a shrimp dish with beets which was great. Service was excellent, some English spoken and the prices were very reasonable, less than $30 CAD for 4 beers and 2 entrées.
This place is off the beaten path, south of Mericpda, but if you are on the way to Uxmal, or going to a neighbouring hacienda, definitely worth a stop.

I just love this place. You could visit the little museum with very antique objects to learn about the lifestyle back in the day.
Facilities are impeccable and very well mantained, keeping the feeling of "aged" and lost in time.
They even have a cenote and part of was the "henequen" factory.
Loved it!

Sometimes you come across a place that completely takes you by surprise and Hacienda Orchil did just that. The journey to the restaurant was in itself an experience walking along palm lined paths with a few small places to stop and look at wares - in particular some lovely weaving and textiles.
Lunch was very nice with a good choice of food. Even the vegetarians in the group were pleased.
The cold drinks were appreciated and the easy-going atmosphere was oh so Mexican.
You can explore the area and find a small cenote and some lovely architecture. With the light and colours it was a photographers paradise.
There is one small store here if you want to buy a memento but not much to choose from really.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Plenty of parking.
This is a must visit to see how beautiful Merida can be.Enjoy.

A beautiful setting and wonderful place for lunch on your way to/from Uxmal<>Merida. Fantastic food although buffet style with fixed price.
The site has a small museum, gift shop and small canote at the bottom of an outdoor ampitheater.

We went there on our way back from Uxmal, and were greeted at the car park by a waiter who led us to the building complex, explained what there was to see and wished us welcome to the restaurant when we finished walking around.
It is not the biggest of haciendas, and we didn't do the grand tour, but we were very impressed with the restaurant. At extremely reasonable prices, I worried it would be the kind of indifferent food you get in many tourist areas, but the chef here is truly inspired! There are two slightly different menus: one in English for tourists, the other in Spanish, with a variety of local dishes that may not be every tourist's cup of tea. We ordered from the Spanish menu, and after the somewhat different "botanas" i.e. free snacks (beetroot dip, baked zucchini), my "relleno negro" (black turkey soup) was fabulous, and my husband practically licked his plate clean of his "queso relleno" - baked stuffed cheese in white sauce.
Truly excellent meal at very reasonable prices and a wonderful setting.

Visited for lunch with my family. Friendly staff. Not many food options for vegetarians but still a fun experience.

We went there at the end of the day and had an hour to explore the place. It was lovely and worth it. The restaurant is very good with yucatecan kitchen and delicious dishes and friendly staff. If you eat there you don;t have to pay entrance of 40 pesos. There is also a museum and a cenote on the hacienda grounds. Worth a visit!

Visited here several times over the past 4 years and has never disappointed. There is a good selection of Yucatecan food and a mixed appetizer plate that you can sample various dishes. The margaritas are to die for. So delicious !! The rice pudding dessert is scrumptious.
You can stroll the Hacienda's lush shady grounds while your meal is being prepared. There is a small museum and gift shop on site and, on some days, there are artisans showing their talents.
I will return.

Hay acceso libre o se tiene que hacer reservación? Puedo llegar en carro particular? Aceptan puedo con tarjetas? Actualmente cuentan con el servicio para dar tours?

The Hacienda Ochil that I visited is south of Merida, not far from Uxmal, but very far from Valladolid (8 or 9 hours?). We only stayed for lunch, not overnight.

Most dishes are Yucatecan. I think you will enjoy them thechi chen soup or sopa de Lima is excellent. I don't think you will have a problem. Everything is fresh and well presented and a variety.
