Booked our tourn in the downtown bus area, and actually saved $$$, than the excursions offered on the boat. It was a blast family friendly and we got to see the flamingos, the Maya ruins, crystallized salt and water money's. We also stopped at a loca store to buy refreshme ts that are also way $$$$ than at the port.

Did the Auto Pregreso city tour for $9 while traveling by Carnival Valor. The trip was very nice! The tour guide was incredible with such a beautiful spirit. Salsa dancing in Mexico was a dream come true.

Horrible tour, we went to the cenote and the ride was over 2 hours long to swim for 20 minutes. The air conditioner was broke and it was so hot. Then we had to get back on the bus for 20 more minutes to go to the second cenote. Do we spent almost 6 hours in a bus to get in the water for maybe 30 minutes. The meal was horrible. It was like we went to someone’s back yard and they just made it a tour. Never will book with these people again. They don’t tell you how long the bus ride is until they have you in the bus and driving down the road.

We booked a cenote excursion at the cruise port with Auto Progreso Tours on our Carnival cruise. Our taxi driver really ruined our whole day. He drove SO slow. We had 20 minutes in 1 cenote and 30 in the other (honestly doubt it was even that long) then we woofed down our lunch. Lunch was fine, not great but ok. Was supposed to be back to cruise port by 2:30 but it was 3:25! Back on board was 3:30. The whole caravan of people kept insisting he speed up and he slowed down! He didn't even care that a bunch of other taxis were passing him. We had older people who couldn't run. Our guide Geuermo finally intervened so he increased it a little. I'm a travel agent. I experience these excursions in ports to take back to clients and I will definitely not recommend this option!! It was a very stressful day!

Our tour guide, Mariana was so sweet and funny! I loved our tour to the Maya Ruins. The driving was smooth, sights were beautiful and the beach was a lot of fun.

The tour was 9 USD to tour around the city. It was very informative, funny, and safe! I'd highly suggest the tour, it took roughly 30-45 minutes of driving around in perfect weather after getting off the boat. Our guide Fernando who also works for Carnival cruises had great English and pride in his heritage. The driver Ricky Martin looks different on TV and is shy for autographing shirts was an excellent driver and had our safety at high priority. Overall it was an amazing experience!

We learned and saw so much about the Progresso area. Leah was an awesome guide! Only $9 for 45 minutes in an open air bus. So glad we did this while on our cruise. Definitely recommend this tour.

We booked the city tour of Progreso. It was approximately 45 minutes by open air bus & gave us a guided look at the city. We enjoyed the tour. It was informative & fun.
It was only $9 per person and gave us opportunity to learn about Mayan and Mexican cultures of the Yucatan and more. We saw a variety of areas (from working class to beach resort and marinas). We learned about the history, industry, and government of the area. Well worth the time and money.

Do you know if they take credit cards? Do we need pesos? We have 16 in our group and I am paying, so I need to know if I need to get pesos or if they take a credit card.- want to make sure we have enough cash- I can't find anything on their website that says what forms of payment are accepted- thanks!

Can a small dog climb it? Yes parts of it, but it is a museum I don't know if they allow dogs.
Looking at booking a tour of Merida. What age does a child need a ticket? On Carnival site the same type tour include kids under 4 for free yet AP site has a child listed as any child under 10. Is there an option to rent a car seat if a seat is purchased for a child? Thanks

We are planning on taking our grandchildren to a cenote. My husband is, however, mobility handicapped. He will have a scooter. Is there a secure place for his scooter if we take the cenote Auto progreso cenote tour? Does the bus pick up at cruise ship? I’ve heard it is a four mile walk into town from ship. I read where they do drop off at ship after excursion. Please any additional information would be helpful. Thank you!

Sue, it's a bus ride into town and to get to the cenotes is very rocky and there is no way to drive a scooter into the cenotes that we went to. I would call them and see if they have any cenotes that you guys could access with the scooter. :-)

Hi, I saw your feedback about a tour to Uxmal with Auto Progreso. Do they drive you back to the ship on time ? Do you need to pay (reserve) a ticket before the day of excursion, let's say before your cruise start ? How was the whole impressions ? Thank you.

Yes they do. They drive you all the way back to the ship. We did reserve our excursion prior to the cruise but many if not all are available to book that same day. Look for the AutoProgresso shuttle bus and they will take you to their depot. You can select and pay for excursions there.
The whole experience was wonderful. They really have excursions figured out. They were helpful and there is some great shopping at their depot area too. We would definitely go with them again.

Do you have a private tour to Uxmal by taxi or car that picks up directly at the ship so the bus from the ship to town does not need to be used? Can a folding wheelchair be accommodated? Are there paved/stone paths through part of Uxmal so a wheelchair can be used to see some of the site.

The shuttle to town is actually hosted by this tour spot for free, so you can ride to the end of the pier in Merida which will take you right to their tour stop and some shops.
On the wheelchair, it may be rough in some spots, but depending on your experience with it and the weather behaving you would likely be okay

Had a great excursion while sailing on carnival to progresso. It was a resort named technotel beach. We had a Tequila that was an amber color and a hint of fruit flavor. We would love to know the name and where we could order itself
