Found this place on TA under things to do in Isla. Stopped in one morning after breakfast. These women make some beautiful bead work items to sell to help support their families. Found a couple items I could not live without! Most of the women...More

This small cooperative of women make beautiful hand made jewelry and gifts. They welcome you to visit, but be advised, they do not really speak English. If you visit, they love if you bring the, some beads.

This is a small building across the street from the church. On the same road at Mangos. The ladies are there making their pretty things. We bought several gifts to take home.

So we walked a mile and half to get here. Once we arrived, though there were women inside beading, they didn't greet us, or offer to help us. The selection is ok, but not noteworthy.

We have been working with the women in the coop to be friendlier. They speak no English (do you speak Spanish...? that usually helps) and are shy. But no excuse for not saying "welcome!"

Very intricate beadwork using tiny, tiny beads. Very reasonable prices. Small shop. Some beautiful designs, necklaces, earrings, belts. Local women.working while you watch.

If you are looking for gifts and souvenirs, this is the place. While we also did some shopping on Hidalgo, prices there were much higher, the stuff not as nice, and who knows where it comes from? At the Beading Coop you know you are...More

The beads were pretty ordinary and just like the ones that were being sold on the beach. Ladies were working very hard and it was interesting to watch them work. Lots of options!!
