Victoria, Daniel, and the crew were amazing! We went on three different excursions with them- diving on several days, snorkeling with whale sharks, and a private boat (the Catatonic) for a group of 15. It’s hard to pick which one was our favorite because they were all very unique. Their site does not do the Catatonic justice, we were pleasantly surprised how spacious and comfortable the boat was with a good amount of sun, shade, great sound system, and lots of refreshments. We upgraded to the large charcuterie board and it was worth it! It was a relaxing way to see the island from the water and fun to stop at Playa Norte to get in the water while they made delicious ceviche! A first-class experience.
If you have a big enough group I can’t recommend enough doing the private boat rental for seeing the whale sharks. It’s a bit of a ride to get out to the feeding area and it was nice to be able to play our own music and take turns getting in the water at our own pace. Our guide Arturo enhanced our experience by helping us swim faster and closer to the whale sharks. We even saw some dolphins! Definitely a bucket list checkmark!
Diving was amazing also. We saw tons of mating sea turtles, beautiful fish, and coral. One person in our group snorkeled and was still able to see a lot of turtles. It was nice to combine different activities/skill levels in one trip.
We will definitely book with them again for our next trip!

I strongly recommend booking the Isla Contoy tour. The number of people allowed on the island is restricted as it is a National Park and protected reserve. The beach and the waters are pristine. We booked our tour through Mexico Divers. The boat they use limits the number of passengers to 20. We were not crowded and well taken care of. Other tours visiting the island were very crowded. Our tour included a stop for snorkelling. The water was murky that day due to winds, but the caption did bring us to the underwater museum as an alternative. I cannot say enough about this excusion.

Amazing experience!! If you are on Isla mujeres during whale shark season, it is a MUST-DO. We had an incredible experience with Mexico Divers. They have a seamless operation down to every detail making your tour stress-free and enjoyable. Capitan Tavo did perfectly navigating us to the sharks while respecting the space of these beautiful creatures. Our guide Adolfo was top notch and made sure we got the best view and swim the whale sharks. After swimming we went to a nearby reef to do snorkeling. The boat had snacks and beverages available: Delicious ceviche, fruit, sandwiches, and an assortment of beverages! I 100% recommend Mexico Divers, who were safe and followed the guidelines to keep the whale sharks safe and allowing us to keep visiting them! Gracias!

Mexico Divers was a great experience with friendly and helpful shop staff, enthusiastic and competent dive masters, and professional, friendly, hardworking boat captains and assistants. We did a total of five dives with them, and we also did the whale shark tour. All tours were punctual, memorable, and a great experience.
Veronica was our contact at the shop. She responded immediately to emails and inquiries, and went out of her way to organize boat drop off and pickups for us. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell she has a very organized shop and runs things efficiently with care. We enjoyed talking with her, and are grateful that she sent us follow up pictures and videos of our dives. Thanks Veronica!
Marie was our dive master for all five dives. Her enthusiasm was contagious and we felt so comfortable with her. She loves what she does, and she was a great mix of fun and professionalism. She made sure to point out every creature she could find for us to see. She was a hard worker and cared about her boat team. Thanks for the great memories Marie and for letting me use your personal wet suit! The octopus and bioluminescence are unforgettable!!!
We didn't catch the names of the boat captain and assistant on our dives, but they were very friendly and helpful. They also loved their jobs and believed in their work at Mexico Divers. Happy employees=successful companies. We enjoyed getting to know them a bit. They were very genuine. Thank you!!
Lalo and his dad Lalo were our boat captains on the whale shark tour. We were greeted with smiles and handshakes. Lalo made every effort to get every person up close with a whale shark as many times as they wanted. He had great respect for the big fish and he energy was so positive. They worked so hard. They provided snacks and drinks and then made the most delicious fresh ceviche. Once again, great and friendly service. Thanks Lalo and Lalo!
I cannot say enough how happy and genuine everybody was!! They loved their jobs. I kept thinking that working with tourists must get really old, but every single person at Mexico Divers was so happy to be doing what they were doing, and they were such a pleasure to meet.
We highly recommend Mexico Divers, and we're glad we got to "leave as a buddy". We cannot wait to go back.

Our group had an amazing experience with Mexico divers! We booked the Catatonic last minute and Mexico Divers were very accommodating. The process was very smooth and the price was reasonable. The entire experience on the boat was great from start to finish. Raul was the best captain, taking our group around to the best spots for snorkeling, seeing turtles, seeing the most beautiful sunset, and avoiding the rain clouds. Wilbur provided the best service, super attentive to all of our needs. The food was incredible - far exceeded our expectations. Overall, we had the best time all thanks to Mexico Divers and we highly recommend them!

From The moment we booked our trip I was in communications with Victoria who works with Mexico divers. Victoria spent so much time with me explaining what they do, the weather conditions and the seaweed which was a problem in other parts of Mexico… But she explained to me how the currents run through the Isla Mujeres and made me feel so much more comfortable and more excited to go on our trip… Then when we got there we had the most amazing guides. My two college age kids completed two scuba diving excursions with them and loved each one equally. They got to see many large turtles, crazy fish and beautiful coral reefs. Then, our family of four went on a whale shark excursion. It was simply amazing and our guide was by far the most outstanding among all the other boats… He got us to the whale shark first and we were the first ones to swim with the whale shark… It was a really magical experience. Not only was Mexico divers amazing with their water excursions, Victoria also helped us with recommendations for dinner and recommendations on where to see the turtles laying their eggs on the beach. My son and daughter were up late one night, and went to the spot Victoria told them about. They ran into some volunteers that work with the turtles and got to help one mama turtle give birth to 142 eggs! My daughter said it was the most amazing she has experienced!! Thank you Mexico Divers for a wonderful vacation and we can’t wait to come back and experience more wildlife with you!!

We just got back from our trip to Mexico. We discovered it was whale shark season and jumped on the opportunity to swim with the biggest fish in the world. We are so glad we went with Mexico Divers! Captain Luis was very adept at spotting the sharks in the water and navigating the boat around both the animals and the other swimmers. Adolfo was an expert and guiding us once in the water and also making sure he got us on camera while we did it, documenting an amazing experience. After our excursion, we enjoyed one of the best snorkeling I’ve ever been on (I am a certified diver and normally go that route. I was truly blown away by the snorkel, it was that good!) I highly recommend Mexico Divers for swimming with whale sharks!

We used Mexico Divers for a trip in December 2021. This was a first for each of us, my girlfriend being the natural and me being the anxious body. Victoria was absolutely wonderful to coordinate with as this was a surprise adventure planned for Christmas. The experience was life-changing for her and she is now taking PADI courses. While I had difficulty with claustrophobia, Marie totally made each of us feel extremely comfortable and at ease-- and as someone else mentioned, her positivity is infectious. Marie played a significant part in my girlfriend's decision to take a PADI course and maybe she too will one day be the infectious instructor Marie is. This is an experience I would recommend to anyone interested in trying this art, whether invested in future diving, or as a thrill option. I cannot recommend this company enough. The dive instructors are patient, kind, thorough, and encouraging. Manchones 1 and 2 were fantastic reefs.

We are a family of 4 who were on Isla earlier this month (July '22) and went with Mexico Divers for a whale shark trip as well as snorkeling and several dives. They're an outstanding operation with a fantastic crew that work hard to assure you have a great experience. This is a review of the whale shark trip. I'll leave others for the other trips.
Whale Sharks: This is a big day, but WOW. Understand how it works, so you know what you're in for. MxDivers did a great job of informing us. Basically, ten persons per boat, 2 persons in water at a time with the guide. Once found, the captain runs alongside and you jump in with the guide. You may have a minute or a few minutes to experience them before they've moved on and you need to get back in the boat to regroup. The action is fast as the sharks can be plentiful or not, can appear then suddenly descend.
We found them an hour out and there were already 50 other boats in the area. Unfortunately my wife was incapacitated by seasickness and youngest daughter turning green fast. Sylvana, our guide, could see the youngest still had life in her and put her in with the first group. It saved the trip for her as she got to swim right alongside one while she still had the strength to do so. Later, only 5 sharks remained in the area and the Ranger (patrolling nearby) announced no swims on the radio. (If only 5 sharks or less it's against rules to get in the water so they don't get pestered too much.) But I hadn't had a chance to swim yet! Gustavo (captain) and Sylvana both kept things light and updated us on the radio chatter as we held position waiting to see if they'd come back. They did and I got two swims - and they were magical. I suspect other operators would beat it back to Isla rather than burn gas and time waiting around to see if Sharks return.
Returning to Isla we did a nice drift snorkel along El Farito reef (lighthouse) which has a good crop of elk and staghorn coral and lots of healthy gorgonians and fan corals as well as beautiful schools of fish. We then anchored in a protected area and enjoyed some ceviche and beer on deck. By this time my wife was revived!
Highly recommend this trip with a skilled Captain and Guide such as Gustavo and Sylvana.

What a great excursion! This is an incredible experience not to be missed. To be able to swim alongside these gentle giants is just awesome! The manta rays were great as well and the reef snorkel and homemade ceviche at the end were an added bonus! We were a party of six ranging in age from 16 to 73. The two "elder statesman" in the crew have some physical limitations and our guide Adolfo did a remarkable job of getting them in position to grab a glimpse of the whale sharks. Captain Louis was excellent at positioning the boat to be able to get the best view possible. Both of them are knowledgeable and experienced which made for a s.ooth and successful trip. From start to finish the experience was great and well worth it. If you are considering doing this.....book it.....you will be happy you did👍
