Worth it!!

We went with our 6 year old and teens. The place is beautiful. Definitely check your budget, if you don’t mind spending it’s worth it. Check on line for discounts. The Royal package we got included swimming with the dolphins, unlimited dinks in the snack bar, buffet, snorkeling, Mayan steam spa, city tour.

Our 6 year old of course wanted to be in the pool and playground.

I went to the Mayan herbal steam spa, loved it. Definitely worth hanging in there. It’s all about endurance. Beautiful inspirational speech. At the end they pour fresh water to seal your pours again. I did it and would definitely do it again.

Swimming with the dolphins was all of the kids favorite. Edison or Erickson was our dolphin and he was wonderful. The trainer got Madonna for our 6 year old and she was amazing.

Over all my kids say that was the best.

Pros: beautiful ocean views, panoramic pool is mildly fun, tho packed, friendly staff, pathway to punta sur very cool, educational, a great way to see the south end of the island if you are staying in downtown isla
Cons: expensive for what you get (we pre-paid online $150 for the VIP pass for two adults for the day), food was edible, but nothing special (although freshly prepared short ribs in VIP area were great, well worth the upgrade), snorkeling and kayaking were closed due to high winds (this is typical on this side of the island), VIP pool and hot tubs are dirty, gross- leave much to be desired. If you are a foodie or expecting a luxury experience, you will not be happy at Garrafon.

Zip line and sauna were open, but not really our thing, so we skipped those.

We planned to spend the day at Garrafon, got there at 10:00 and ended up leaving at 1:00 and heading to Playa Norte for the rest of the day.

The experience was not horrible as some others describe, but we will most likely not be back.

I had the best time here with Royal Garrafon!! The beach club has delicious buffet lunch and open bar. The zipline course had 3 different ziplines over the water and they made sure you were safe and secure. Definitely do the kayak and snorkel, unlinke the zipline that you can only do once, you can hop back in the water for snorkel or kayak as many times as your heart desires! The beach chairs and infinity pool were also such a dream. Protip, if you are travelling solo, or even with people, i highly recommend paying $40 upfront for unlimited photos. David, my photographer went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure i had the best pictures ever and got pictures of me during every single activity I did here. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone visiting Cancún and Isla Mujeres!

Few times in my life I got cheated like in this place, don't go to this beach park, they charge $50 dollars per person which includes food and drink but actually it wouldn't be worth 5 dollars.

the only bar to get drinks is at the top of the hill , if you are at the pool , you have to go up a hill and then there will be a huge line , because there is only one barman , grumpy by the way .

you can only order 2 drinks at the same time and if one is water , there will only be one drink left , poor quality plastic cups , this is a joke !

The restaurant has a buffet with With Mexican food and little variety, I ended up eating a hamburger, all very tasteless and I felt like just a number in the crowd.

full place few chairs , no service , you're just another number in the crowd , don't waste your time here

this place is a scam go to any other beach club and you will have better food , better service .better energy .

Ok, where do I begin .
Firstly we paid via our resort over 7 hundred dollars for our family to go on the day our five adults and a 15 and 16 year old
We paid for VIP premium and expected super buffet and international drinks.

Here we go :
We paid our harbour tax and went and boarded ferry. When on the ferry we were informed the activities were closed . Why did they let us go? Money maker racket??? We could not get off.
I was angry to say the least.
We arrived to no international drinks just local brand.bottled water - no bottles or cans of beer they had in fridges and would not give you had to have a dreadful beer from the tap. There was no sparkling wine. When requested sparkling wine I was informed I need to pay 100$ more - yes 100$ dollars for half bottle. After lots and I mean lots of complaining they bought me a bottle
Of fizzy wine but guess what? This was flat and out of date! Health and safety issue ??
Outside bars were dirty and many gallon bottles with premixed very sweet cocktails and left out in warm weather and put in a blender to thicken up (yuk) I cannot have any , but family states they we’re terrible . The resort was swarming with these drinks left everywhere not drunk. Surely this is a health and safety issue and should be looked into??
Coke and lemonade was in 2 Ltr bottles flat as open with lids off or just left . Brands we’re
Beefeater gin
Absolutely vodka
Captain Morgan rum
The rest were local brands
The buffet for snacks had ran out time we got there and had no continental breakfast on boat as none left not even a cup of tea! On the boat just coffee dilute orange and water. So we had to wait until 1 pm for lunch. Bar staff were rude and ignorant of saying they don’t speak English but did so when back turned.
VIP buffet
Disgrace no presentation seafood which I could not have and Luke warm not hot ! Meat a fish dishes cooked together . Salad was better in regular buffet I could only eat melon as I need to be careful . No one cares that o had allergies and catered for this .
Tortillas you got out of the box with your hands no tongues!
Pools
5$ also for an ice cream
The foot bath to clean your feet had mould floating on it . Pools dirty . Dirty sunloungers and dirt tables
We ended up getting the ferry back early as the children could not do anything but sit in a hammock all day with flat soda and coke or water
As for the ferry we had to drop all
Other people going to the dolphins before we could get back and took two hours !
My advise is don’t waste your money

We paid $90 USD per person for the VIP pass. The VIP area is just two decks overlooking the water- there is no VIP area with sand/umbrellas/loungers. While the VIP bar is supposed to be an upgrade, the liquor is watered down and there are no drinks that are different from the other bars on the property.
The VIP pool, which would be a nice option, was closed. We were given no notice of this. The only pool is a long wading pool filled with children (which is great for kids but not very relaxing for adults).
The VIP hot tubs were really dirty to the point of being gross- there is no way we would get into one of them.
The food was not terrible, but just okay. Again, the VIP food was no different than the regular restaurant.
They closed down all food and the bars and the zip line at 4:30pm when the boats left back for Cancun. Those of us who had a taxi picking us up at 5pm just had to sit around with nothing to do as staff closed everything around us.
Overall we were extremely disappointed. The property was not well maintained, services were minimal and food/drink not worth it. There are plenty of other beach clubs to choose from- don't give this one your money.

Feel totally robbed and tricked. Did research on morning of visit and there was no mention that nothing is open before you go in. Not even able to walk along the footpaths as blocked with rubbish and debris. Toilets out of order so had to queue for 2 “vip” toilets which were filthy. We were told to leave the park and walk down the busy road to access the costal paths and ruins advertised…. We did this and it was free entry anyway. Food and drinks awful and watered down with one ignorant barman serving so really big queue. 3 hour wait for the steam hut. So basically paid full price for 5 adults and the only activity was one go on the zip wire which 2 of us were unable to do. When we complained the staff were very disrespectful and spoke in Spanish between themselves and we were told no one had ever complained before 👀. Everything you read on these terrible reviews is true wish we had read before we went 😞 Manager offered no apology or didn’t even care

Paid for the royal VIP experience. Not worth the price. As mentioned by many other guests, the buffet is very mediocre and limited. Line was ridiculously long. The catch is that on the website they make it seem as since you are paying for the full royal VIP experience everything is included. HOWEVER, as I waited in line to eat from the “all inclusive” buffet, I was told that I would have to pay extra for the shrimp (??). Not many food options and that’s not even being a picky eater. There simply aren’t enough option for a so called “all inclusive buffet”. I asked for drinks and was told the waiter would come to my table. That did not happen. Let’s not mention how outrageously expensive it is to get pictures from your adventures since phones aren’t allowed (aka in the zip line area).

Also, it was extremely difficult to find shade. I get it, it’s a tropical place but you don’t want to be under the sun from basically 9am to 5:30pm.

I couldn’t wait to leave this place as the boat felt like taking forever to arrive.

Very disappointed and will not be recommending this place.

We enjoyed our experience at Garrafon. Purchased a package deal via Go Cancun which was well worth it and upgraded for unlimited ziplining and so called buffet/premium drinks upgrade (it wasn't an upgrade except for unlimited zipline).

The bathrooms are small and need a upgrade

Overall, I'd definitely recommend for ziplining, kayaking, snorkeling, and pool. They also have a Mayan ritual you can do, but we didn't do it.

View wise, it’s really amazing. But it’s quite expensive (us$99 per guest). To be fair, this includes unlimited food and drinks, and you can zip line, kayak and swim. Maybe for people who like drinking, this can be good value for money. But for travelers like us who are non-drinkers and just want to enjoy a dip in the ocean, this may not be the best option. I’d recommend going to a nearby private beach (on the opposite site of the Joint Bar) for snorkeling. The entry fee there is only 150 pesos per person and we saw loads of fish there.
