I love Isla Mujeres and go almost every year, but I have learned to avoid Garrafon Natural Reef Park. Why, you ask? Because of the price. Sure, it's nice. But dollar for dollar (or peso for peso), it's a rip off compared to going next...More

The activities are honestly lack luster. You can see that entire part of the island without having to pay $80 if you go up the street a little through the sculpture park. Food was average. Whatever bar tender was there that day was amazing though!...More

A beautiful island with crystal clear blue seas. The food was good and plentiful. Everything about this island was amazing. A true taste of paradise. I didn't do the zip lines but the snorkelling was fab. Couldn't wish for anything betterMore

Must see adventure suggestions for family of five (10 Replies)
Have used forums on Trip Advisor in the past which have offered excellent suggestions and helped us plan itineraries. I know this question is a tad vague but hoping to learn about day trip suggestions for a family staying in hotel zone with three adventurous boys ages 11 - 14. This is our first time visiting Cancun and will be there for 13 days starting July 26. Prefer the less commercial options and will welcome suggestions on combination tours or trips that offer cenotes, snorkeling,...More

Chichen Itza is a must & if possible coupled with Ek Balam where you can climb a pyramid. Isla Mujeres rent a golf cart. Suggest MapChick for the island. Excaret - underground river, lazy river, snorkeling bay area & ocean area, zoo, aquarium, small shows all day, big show in evening & much more. . 1 day to go to Cozumel in AM then get back to Playa for lunch then go to the cenote in the heat. I would suggest Cenote Chaak Tun amazing, 2 cave cenote's & 1 open one.just...More

Garrafon Natural Reef Park vs. Garrafon Castilla Beach Club (12 Replies)
A little confused as to what the difference is? Is the snorkeling the same at the beach club as the Park? And what is the afternoon deal that I have seen mentioned? Thanks!

There are several differences. Garafon de Castilla costs $5, while Garafon costs $50. The latter has a zip line plus day trippers from Cancun to make long lines. Garafon de Castilla is next door, around a small promontory for privacy. The fish don't know much about property lines, so are pretty much the same.

Hi, My friend and I are debating between going to Exuma or Cancun (Playa Del Carmen) between 3/21-3/27. I'm interested in clear blue (warm) waters, fun activities, great snorkeling, and swimming with turtles, whale sharks and dolphins. I've put together a sample itinerary, but am not sure if it's too much (not sure if I'm alloting enough time to get to different places). Are there colorful reefs to snorkel or dive at? I notice some places don't have colorful reefs, but it seems Cancun...More
