We spent 8 days diving in the middle of December 2022. Lodging was split between Occidental Cozumel and Grand Park Royal Cozumel. Living Underwater is our favorite dive operator in Cozumel. We have dived with them 7 times since 2003, most recently in 2018 before this trip December 2022. We like them because they have a fast boat, they guide a maximum of 8 divers, they are reliable, safety oriented, friendly, and they use Steel tanks with capacity larger than 80 cubic inches. The heavier tank allows less weights on your belt or integrated in your BCD and makes the safety stop easier to manage at the end of the dive. Another benefit of diving with Living U/W is they handle the gear for the entire week. The night before our first dive, owner Jeremy Anschel meets us, collects our dive gear, and confirms our plans for days diving, Nitrox, and any rental equipment needs. The boat comes the next morning to a dock on our resort property, and the gear is all set up waiting for us. Captain Andres, Crew Ricardo we have met before. Both are friendly, attentive, and a step ahead of whatever we needed before and after dives. Dive Master Pepe was wonderful, kind, instructive, knowledgeable, and very good at finding small critters and communicating during the dive. Dive boat is twin outboard with canopy to shade the divers, but no head. Entry was a back roll off the side, and exit was a ladder on the side. Dive profile was not strict other than maximum depth. I used Steel 95 and my wife used Steel 85. We used Nitrox EAN 32. Typical dive was 70 feet max, 40 feet avg, 80 minutes. Slight current on most dives, managed by staying below the reef tops. Many dives included swim throughs between coral pillars. Coral and sponges were colorful and healthy, and juvenile reef fish were abundant. Conditions were mostly sunny and light breeze, which helped the bottom visibility. Surface interval was spent on the boat if the conditions were calm, usually in shallow water above a sandy bottom. If conditions are rough, the surface interval is at one of the beach resorts. At the end of each dive day, we confirm our next dive day, and we step off the boat. Living U/W will rinse and clean our gear and have it dry and ready to dive the next morning. We highly recommend Living Water for intermediate and advanced divers.

Diving with Living Underwater is always a first-rate experience. Jeremy and his crew provide the highest level of customer service of any of the Cozumel dive operations. Jeremy picks up your dive gear from your accommodation upon arrival and you never have to lug it around until he brings it back rinsed at the end of the trip. With a maximum of 8 divers on the boat, the crew give you very personalized attention, with snacks during the dive interval and warm jackets if you're cold. The diving is based on your computer and air, not on an arbitrary bottom time. Underwater is always safety first, and equally finding interesting life to check out. Whether it's Pepe or Jeremy, they make incredible discoveries of all kinds of small and large things underwater to show you. I highly recommend diving with Living Underwater because it's the best operation in Cozumel. We've been diving with them for over 10 years and it's always top notch.

I highly recommend Living Underwater for your next Scuba trip ! They took such amazing care of us. We had a party of 6 ages ranging from 54 to 10yrs old. The owner Jeremy came to our place we were staying and checked every scuba bag to ensure we had everything we needed and made notes of what was needed. He took all of our scuba bags with him and all we had to do was show up. His crew was fantastic and took excellent care of us. It was not a dive boat where a bunch of people were on board. It was just us and the crew. The dive master Pepe was so entertaining but also encouraged safety first. Mario was great and worked so well with our first ocean diver (10yr old). Ricardo and Andre took excellent care of getting us there and in and out of the boat safely. Highly recommend Living Underwater

Jeremy and his staff are top notch. From the booking process to diving, every day was amazing. Pepe, Ricardo and the two boat captains are friendly, professional and service was fantastic. I feel like we made friends that week. Pepe is a seasoned divemaster who is very familiar with the sites; dive briefings were spot on. Boat was very clean and well maintained. You have to give this company a try and you will never use anyone else. Hotel dive shops book 20+ people and are very crowded. You never know what kind of divers you will be stuck with, but not with this operation. With 8 people max on the boat, you feel like you booked a private adventure. Thanks everyone! We will definitely be back

Jeremy Anschel's Living Underwater dive shop is the best dive operator I have dove with any where in the Caribbean. From the moment he picks up your gear from the resort to the time you are dropped off from your last dive, your diving experience is his and the crew's number one concern. You can choose the size of tank and your gas but I have routinely dove with 95 cu ft steel tanks and air. But Nitrox is also available. Andre, the Captain, Ricardo, the mate and Pepe the dive master have been with Jeremy for years. They are extremely customer focused and take care of all of your diving needs. Pepe knows the dive sites better than the back of his hand. The boat has twin 150 hp Yamaha engines and gets you to the dive sites in a hurry. They have fruit, breads and water available during your surface interval. I wish all dive operators were as invested in giving you an excellent diving experience as these guys are.

I was certified in Cozumel in the early 90's. Since then I have dove throughout the Caribbean and Palau and Cocos Island. Living Underwater is right there with the best dive operators I have used. They use steel tanks that hold more air for longer dives. Intervals between dives are usually at a beautiful beach club. The crew is excellent, always doing something to improve your experience, from helping with equipment problems to providing jackets after a dive during cooler weather to lots of fruit and pastries between dives. Their fast boat allows them to get two dives in by noon and go to the farthest dive sites. I have used other operators in Cozumel, but once I started using Living Underwater they are the only dive operator I will use.

Some businesses like to claim that they "Treat you like family". These guys really do! Very friendly and attentive crew. For example: I asked about the jackets that they mentioned on their website (I get cold easily, especially after a dive.) Not only did they have the jackets available, they brought one to me and helped me put it on after every dive. I mentioned to Pepe, the dive master, that I wanted to take my dive computer back to my room, so I could change the battery. He offered to change the battery for me. He also helped other people in our group with their equipment and provided useful tips. Pepe is also an excellent dive master, always asked our group what kind of dive we wanted to do each day and did an exceptional job of pointing out critters under water. I have done about 350 dives in the last 10 years, with about 25 dive trips to various destinations. So far, this is the best dive shop and crew that I have encountered.

If you want a full service, friendly, and all around great “fast boat” crew to get you to some of the best dive spots near Cozumel, you need to book with these guys. We just finished a guys trip and had a blast. One of the key parts that you don’t think about was not having to haul our gear up and down the dock, and when we got to the boat every morning, everything was already rinsed and set up, ready to go. Fun crew and you won’t be disappointed . Looking forward to booking with Jeremy and his crew in the future. Thanks to PePe, Andre, and Ricardo.

I would give 10-star review for our experience with Jeremy's Living underwater Scuba Diving service. First of all, Jeremy is such a responsible and detail-oriented young fellow, he communicated with me before our trip through emails to make sure he understood our expectations and needs. He arranged a private charter for our family, I was so happy. When we arrived in Cozumel, he came to our resort and did all the fittings with our whole family in the morning, and arranged his boat to our resort dock to pick us up in the afternoon, which saved us lots of time and driving. As to the dive, our divemaster Pepe is the world's #1 master. He is funny, caring, and professional, which eased my fear of buoyancy under the deep water. We went down 65 ft under, the first site was Palancar Horse, saw beautiful reef life, sting rays, lobster, and all kinds of boxer, and parrot fish. On the second site, we are delighted to see a moray eel, splendid toad fish, seahorse, yellow-ray... In between the dives, the captain drove us to the shallow El Cielo to relax and see the clear jade water. Wow, among all my 10 dives with many dive sites, this is definitely the best of all. We will be back, Jeremy.

We have been diving with Jeremy and his Living Underwater crew for more than 15 years, and as usual this trip did not disappoint. Owner Jeremy Anschel met us at our hotel to pick up our gear and give us an overview of the week ahead. The next morning, Captain Andreas pulled the Jew Fish up to our dock at exactly 8:15, just as promised, and then whisked us off to Palancar Reef for our first dives. Although the boat will hold up to 8 divers, usually Jeremy tries to keep the group size to 6 or less, and on this particular week my wife and I were the only guests on the boat for the first few days.

Dive Master Pepe is a joy to dive with. He strikes just the right balance between leading the dive and letting the divers have a fair amount of freedom to do what they want. Being photographers, we often move a bit more slowly than other divers, but Pepe is always there, waiting patiently, ready to point out big things like sharks, rays, and turtles as well as the little critters like pike blennies and pipefish and of course the ever-present lobsters, channel crabs, toadfish, starfish, and octopus. Another thing we really appreciate is Pepe's willingness to keep diving until someone starts to run low on air, which is typically 65-75 minutes due to the steel 100 tanks used by Living Underwater

Getting back on the boat is a breeze. Captain Andreas and First Mate Ricardo pull your BC, tank, and weights up through a door in the side of the boat, leaving you free to swim to the ladder, hand up your fins, and climb aboard. Fresh fruit and baked goods are provided for snacks, and if the divers desire the boat will spend the surface interval at one of the beach clubs on the south end of the island so that everyone can get a snack before the second dive. While we're enjoying our break, the crew is busy changing over tanks, hanging wet suits up to (partially) dry, and generally getting everything ready for the next dive.

Upon return to the hotel dock, we take only what we need: cameras, dive lights, etc., leaving all our other gear on the boat. Next morning it will be neatly stacked beneath our seats, dried, folded, and ready to go. It's a truly wonderful way to dive!
