We are a family of 8. We grabbed a taxi from the cruise terminal to Play Uvas. As advertised, the receptionist reimbursed me for the taxi fare and prepaid for our taxi ride back when we left. There was no shortage of lounge chairs on the beach. There were showers and changing rooms on-site and some shops on the property. The beach itself at Playa Uvas does get crowded though when the tour groups come through. It is best to check out your snorkel gear in between the arrival of the tour groups.

Our day in the sun was cut a little short by a thunderstorm so we headed up to the restaurant. Our server was Ariel, and he was fantastic. It's no easy feat to keep 6 children and 2 adults filled up on beverages while serving the other guests. Ariel was up to the task and was very knowledgeable about which items on the menu were naturally gluten-free and which items could be made gluten-free. I recommend the sea bass fish tacos on soft corn tortillas, for sure! The fresh made guacamole is amazing as well.

If we did not have to compete for space when snorkeling with the tour groups that cycle through during the day, I would have given them 5 stars. That being said, I would definitely go to Playa Uvas again.

We got the basic package which came with an hour of snorkeling, kayaking and a welcome drink. It was $15/person i believe which is why I give it the score I do. It was good value for your money, but the beach wasn't all that great and the people working were overly pushy for tips.

My partner and I booked a Celebrity Cruises excursion to Playa Uvas that included clear-bottom kayaking, snorkeling, and an hour at the beach club. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend Playa Uvas for anyone else traveling to the area.

The Kayaking and snorkeling were both quite enjoyable. The activities were a good length, were very accessible for beginners (I have never kayaked or snorkeled before). Luis and Ray, our guides, were fantastic at pointing out particularly interesting parts of the reef, specific fish, etc. During the kayaking, they guided us to specific reefs to kayak over for gorgeous views. Several times while snorkeling Ray dove down to point things out, which was very helpful. Both Luis and Ray were clearly so knowledgeable about the area and we appreciated the information they shared.

We also enjoyed our hour at the beach club. There were comfortable chairs with a decent bit of shade. The beach isn't the best for just swimming, especially because of all the snorkelers, kayakers, etc, but the pools looked lovely. There was good service, a fairly broad menu with reasonable prices, and decent quality food and drink. Fair warning, there are various people who circulated to sell bracelets, photos, etc, but they're not too pushy if you say no.

We really enjoyed our trip and may visit again the next time we're in Cozumel, and we especially appreciated Ray and Luis, who were fantastic.

The reason I'm giving a poor review is because of unethical and anti-environmental business practices. The photographers at this beach club feed the fish, despite this being a marine wildlife park and completely illegal. I saw one of them doing this with my own eyes when I went out for a solo swim! This trains the fish to be attracted to the people on the snorkel tours, so the photographers get better photos and people are more likely to buy them. This is so wrong on so many levels. This is not a fishtank or some amusement park, they are causing wildlife to be dependent on humans by feeding them unnatural food.

Later on we went out with a guide, and when we were swarmed by fish he joked "the fish work for us". He was also poking at a lionfish with his snorkel that was hiding under a piece of coral! When I asked pointedly how often they feed the fish he completely denied that anyone would do that. The guides are working hard for tips so want to provide an "experience", and are completely in on this scam.

It's because of unethical and short-sighted businesses like this that we won't have a reef 20 years from now, and then nobody is going to come and visit. You have a choice of a million places to snorkel on Cozumel, I advise going with a tour operator that cares about the environment and trains and educates its employees to act as stewards of nature.

Over-priced (entry was $20 US per person Dec. 2022)) included 1 teeny drink per person. LOTS of boat people. the coral is all mostly destroyed & gone, not many fish, & certainly no interesting ones.Service was sluggish; their web site lied about the entry price. . . one of the worst cons in Cozumel. Probably barely okay if you've never snorkeled, If you have, give it a HUGE pass.

An umbrella almost killed my wife. The waiters say yes to everything even though it’s not true including food and drink allergies. People could of died. The food is sub par at best. The snorkeling is pretty lame. They run a scam with the taxi companies. They have an all inclusive drink option which varies in price, type of liquor and the amount of hours you can use it for AT THEIR DISCRETION(such a scam). Just everything about this place is a scam and could potentially kill us(food allergies, umbrellas not put in the ground properly, jelly fish. Go with god if you go to this place.

$30 per couple for lounge chairs on the beach with 1 complentary drink each. Life guard close, equipment rental and 30 minutes free cayake. Guided snorkel for tips. Decent fish and coral. He put a starfish and a spider crab in my hand and saw a small barracuda and a beautiful eagle Ray! Very secure in sight of cruise ships, maybe 4 miles.

We booked a day pass through the website and took a taxi from the port for $12 each way. The receptionist greeted us right away and explained the benefits of our package. Joaquin (“Tiger”) let us pick our chairs and then brought us the complimentary drinks that came with our purchase. We expected the beach to be rocky, based off other reviews. It is also extremely uneven, which can make it difficult to walk into the water. They did try to place sandbags in areas to help, but it didn’t help much. We did the snorkeling with our guide Angel, who was amazing. We saw different types of coral, fish, eel, a stingray, and a huge starfish! For the price, I would definitely recommend as a laidback excursion. If we come back again, we definitely have to try the clear kayaks.

We bought the all inclusive package at the club Playa Uvas... We had a 2 hour open bar and payed 600 pesos to extent to 3 hours (all inclusive till 5pm) ... But 30 min before the finish of the open bar they closed the kitchen due to a wedding and we could ask for just 1 more beer...

They were totally disloyal when we bought the tickets and we dont think it is a fair Mexican experience to have.

So there seem to be different pricing for whoever showed up at the front desk. I know we were overcharged because the people behind us paid $15 per person, but we paid 35 and then they tried to rip us off with a taxi cab going back but since I can speak some Spanish I got a cheaper taxi . Should not base price on how much you can take advantage of your customer . We each got one drink coupon . Besides the lying on the prices , it still was a very relaxing day. The beach has a lot of rocks, but I loved the snorkeling. I went all the way out, and it was really interesting to see the fish once you get past the rocks the beach is very nice. The pool was not really to our liking, but all of the staff there were wonderful. We would go back, but I would make sure that they didn’t overcharge us.
