We stumbled on this church while looking for a bite to eat and some wifi. I love Old churches and stopped in to see this one. The architecture is very nice and the feeling is so calm inside. There are some very nice statues and plaques to see and read, and it never hurts to put in a small donation and pray for a safe trip! Overall, a nice break, a nice place to quietly sit and enjoy the surroundings, and close to cafes and things. Taxis are also parked next to here, so we hopped in one to get back to port. Price was very reasonable.

I traveled to Cozumel in August 08 and wanted to let people know that the posted mass times was not followed on Sunday. The mass 9am mass didn't start until 10am. There were more than a few people there at 9am that looked like tourists so I would guess that I was not the only person to be misled.
On this occasion, the priest did speak English for 5 minutes - which I wasn't expecting. Also, when masses do occur at the published time, they tend to start on Mexican time, so if you are 5 minutes late it is no big deal. No reason to come early, but some of the masses do fill up.
See the photo for the published mass schedule, but I would recommend that you verify the start time of the mass you wish to attend.

While looking for a specific restaurant, visiting Cozumel for the day..I accidentally found this perfect little church, and was drawn inside. Had to stop for a moment to take in the quaint beauty. So peaceful. Didn't take pictures, it just didn't seem right at the moment. But it was enough for me and my own memory. Historical..a must see.

If yu're in historic downtown Cozumel, you have to walk into this church. The statue of St Michael the Archangel (patron saint of the island) is on display. Supposedly it was brought over by the Spanish in 1512±

Went to Sunday Mass here at 10AM, and it was beautiful. The church was completely full (it's not very big). The music was great, it wasn't too hot in there at the time we went - they had all the doors and windows open. The Mass is in Spanish, so I didn't understand all the words they were saying, but at least I knew what parts of the Mass we were in. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend going to Mass here.

I have read great reviews on this site and The Empress of the Seas will be coming into Cozumel on December 25. We are interested in attending the service on Christmas Day. Maybe others will be interested in getting together to take a taxi from the cruis ship

The San Miguel Church is a typical Mexican church . We stopped by the church while visiting the village of Cozumel and at 2.H00 of the afternoon , there were 7 people praying ! It was quiet and very relaxing after the chaos of the Main street and the buzz of the markets.
The church itself is very nice and typical of the Mexican architecture .
It is worth a visit specially since it is close to the main plaza

Attending Catholic mass here was so touching. The people are friendly & the church is so quaint. While the mass is in Spanish, I bring the readings in English from home to follow along.

In San Miguel, take some time to walk around and discover. We like to discover on our own rhythm. We often discover different things: one of them being the San Miguel church.
Simple, peaceful and quiet (as most church) and open to the public. It is a quick stop.

My wife and I attended 8 pm Sunday mass at this pretty little church in the middle of San Miguel. The mass was all in Spanish, and beware, there are no air conditioners. Oscillating fans were on, but it was still warm.

What is the closest Catholic Church to where Carnival sets port in Cozumel? Also Is there a Catholic Church close to M. Sancho's

The usual mass times are 7am & 8pm, from Monday to Saturday, and 7am, 10am, 6pm and 8pm on Sundays. If you speak Spanish, the church telephone numbers are (987)2-10-87 or (987)2-34-38. I hope that this is not too late for you.

How far is other church in Costa Maya from carnival cruise port? Iglesias Mahulua

I am interested in visiting this church n other sites nearby. How far is church from carnival cruise port? How much is,a,taxi? Do u know of guides to take u around as,I do not speak Spanish?
Written March 2, 2018
Don't worry about not speaking Spanish. There are lots of taxi drivers outside the port who speak English. Just agree on the price before you go. It was a while back that we went, but it doesn't cost much. To get an idea, ask a few to get an idea of what the average cost is...
There are also local guides outside the port who offer group excursions (cheaper than what it costs on the Cruise), so you can get one of those if you want to be on the safer side.
Hope that helps.

Going to be in Costa Maya may 10. Is it nearby if not do you know a Catholic church in that port?

There is a Catholic church not too far from Costa Maya. I found their Facebook page - search for Iglesia Catolica Mahuhaul.

We want to go to San Miguel Catholic Church in Cozemel, Mexico. We are coming in on a cruise ship. Is it close to the pier? Is it walking distance from the ship pier.? If it is, about how long do you think it should take us? We are quick walkers.

My wife and I will be visiting Cozumel the last week of October and first week of November (2016). We are looking for Mass times at Iglesia San Miguel for Sunday and All Saints Day.
