We were in Coz May 21, 2012 and booked this amazing tour from Arturo Diaz. We met them very close to the cruise port terminal and we were greeted very warmly by Arturo. Our driver took us everywhere we wanted to go and even more. The lunch was very good. They provided beverages, umberellas, and snorkeling equipment free of charge. We had a great time and will do it again the next time we are there. Thanks Arturo for a great time. Sherry from Oklahoma

We were told our ( bus) was the last in the coach park, aline of fabulous coaches, all looking very new.
Oh boy, there it stood, a converted cattle wagon ,no doors or windows, the guide a roly poly type of guy as cheerful as can be, a moustacheiod driver with wild eyes.
Of we went he'll for leather down the highway, until we reached the most fantastic beach one could imagine.
The wildlife there was in abundance, Crocks, Eagles, Raccoons, and many more creatures. Snorkeling from this beach around the coral reef, very popular, fabulous day out, will certainly do it again.

We were staying at EL CID in Puerto Morales and we purchased a day long excursion to Cozumel. What a great idea that turned out to be! We took a van to Playa del Carmen and then took the ferry to Cozumel. As soon as we got there we got on a boat and cruised by the docked cruise ships to a reef where we went snorkeling. The visibility was terrific and one of our guides took an underwater picture of the two of us that I will always treasure. Afterward we got on an open air bus for a tour of the island. We went to a federally protected and very remote part of the island where we had a wonderful lunch and drinks and then lounged on the beach and swam in this idyllic setting. This area really gave you the feeling of what life here must have looked like hundreds of yeas ago. Then we went to a lighthouse and climbed its 151 steps to a terrific view, traveled to a marsh to see crocodiles, visited a very small Mayan ruin that was a lighthouse, and ended up at a Tequila outlet that showed us what real Mexican Tequila, made exclusively from the Agave plant, tastes like. (We bought some 7 year old Tequila to bring back with us.) Then we took the ferry back. In the future, we will definitely consider Cozumel as a destination. There are lots of businesses and activities due to the up to a dozen cruise ships that can visit daily. We'd love to rent scooters and tour the town and the more remote areas. In my experience, it's rare to find a destination that offers such a variety of commercial and non commercial opportunities.

Take the ferry to Cozumel. Just get a one-way, each way. There are two different companies and alternate each hour. So, when you come back you don't need to coordinate with that specific ferry. It's not much more to get two one-ways, and easy.
Once there, there are TONS of scooter rentals on the street. There is a separate lane, most of the island, for them.
We loved the other side of the island. Quaint little bars, especially Bob Marley Bar at the point.
When we were there (January) the snorkeling was not very good because of the wind. But, apparently, it usually is.
Don't miss this fun adventure with in Playa!

Really great trip. Arturo was checking in throughout the day between activities to make sure things were going well. He was very detail oriented to make sure everything went perfectly.
Took Taxi from cruise ship terminal to Ferry pier. Met snorkeling guide there and we went to three reefs. They guide feed s the fish a little to get them really circuling and they have an underwater camera man to take pictures if you want to buy. We bought CD it was cool and then after last snorkel stop rode back to peer to meet driver. Arturo was there to coordinate that as well, and make sure we were off with the driver.
Rode to a resteraunt. we literally had the place almost to ourselves, and the food was great. We ate an authentic lunch then at the same place there is a tequila tour (they distill tequila there). then we went on a tour of town to see different areas, stopped for photo ops a few places. went to beach for pictures, and saw more of town.
Cruise ships don't give you a lot of time in port, but we were back right on time to get boarded back without having to rush. Very nice day in Cozumel with a very good guide. Thanks Arturo!

Buy round trip ferry tickets, ($10.00 round trip) from playa. Once off ferry rent a moped or car.(car about $80.00 per day) You can rent your transportation during the 45 min. ferry ride . Most rentals are per day, that ends at 6:00!!!!! The island is small and easy to get around. Once you have your car, keep the ocean on your right and you cant get lost. The traffic is a little heavy in town ,about a haft mile, after that you will only see a couple cars. There are a lot of great places to stop. Our choices are Bob Marley bar, next Coconuts, then the locals beach and last Mozolitos(notsure about the spelling). The back side of the island, has no electric, very primitive, which makes it special. Town is about a 5Min drive from Mozolios. Remember, keep the ocean on your right.

Thank you. We'll be there Feb 11-15th possibly (my daughter will be diving 8th, 9th and 10th for a half day. Thank you.
