Using Dive Paradise was the best thing my group of friends did for our trip to Cozumel! We had our dive training with them for two days. Omar and Gener were so amazing, they answered all questions and made sure to go in depth with all explanations. They were really great going over what lessons we’d learn next out of water and then in the water motioning to explain things again. Whenever anyone had trouble, they were both really patient and would when needed one-on-one help someone. It was always very clear that safety was their number one priority, but every moment with them was as fun as safe. After the end of training all six of us got certified and then went on a dive trip with them the next day. We did the 2-Tank “Caribbean” AM Dive. Both dives were so breathtaking and such an amazing experience. We saw so much wildlife, we dove at Dalila and reefs were so big. They had sandwiches and other snacks onboard, my only issue was the lunches weren’t very vegetarian/vegan friendly. To anyone looking to go diving in Cozumel, Dive Paradise should certainly be your top choice. I hope to be back again some day!

If you have ever wanted to see a different world, the closest thing I think you will ever get is scuba diving in Cozumel. Pictures of reefs cannot compare to seeing it in person. Dive Paradise made accomplishing this dream incredibly stressless and fun. I got my PADI open water dive certification in two days (after taking the online course) on the beautiful beaches of Cozumel. The water is the perfect temperature (imagine being in a pool) and so blue I was convinced I was swimming in blue Gatorade. The shop location is in a super convenient location no matter where you plan on staying, due to being right on the outskirts of town. For any who are worried about learning on the beach instead of a pool you are in a little protective cove to learn the basics. The instructors were incredible! They make the certification almost as fun as actual dives with great charisma and patience. As well as speaking perfect English. I had complete confidence in my safety the entire time due to their knowledge about diving and the area we were diving in. They helped boost the confidence of group members who were weaker swimmers as well. Renting equipment was a super simple process. While gear may not be top of the line it was affordable and reliable. They got us sized up quickly and always had tanks ready for us to switch out to continue diving. They also made sure to give us the same equipment throughout the week, so we would be completely comfortable on the dives. After certification when we went to do our first open-water dive. Our divemaster easily calmed the nerves of our group, by clearly explaining everything that we needed to do. I could tell our divemaster had complete confidence in his knowledge of the area and pointed out amazing seas life such as reef sharks and barracudas. The experience was so convenient, yet breathtakingly amazing I’m not sure I will be able to dive anywhere else and be satisfied again. The experience was worth every penny and if you have ever had the urge to experience something completely alien, I recommend diving is Cozumel with Dive Paradise.

I had a great experience learning how to scuba dive with Dive Paradise. I did the Dive Paradise OPEN WATER e-learning-PADI Certification course first and then finished the certification in Cozumel. I was nervous at first about scuba diving but while my guides pushed me they were also kind and patient. Omar and Gener were my instructors, their passion for diving and expert training made me feel safe in the water and also super excited to get to explore this new world. I’m now a certified scuba diver because of them, and I had an amazing time seeing the beautiful reefs and different sea life. My group did a boat dive once we were certified, the team of guides were fun and easy to talk to. We did two dives and they even gave us lunch and water in between. Everything went smoothly and we were able to see rays, sharks, barracuda and more. Diving with Dive Paradise is an unforgettable experience and I’m so glad I chose them to do my certification training and other dives.

The weather couldn’t have been lovelier for our first day of diving with Dive Paradise, and the water was so beautiful and clear! When we first arrived, the staff and instructors were very efficient with helping us get our paperwork done so we could quickly move on to the training. Our instructors, Omar and Gener, were super good-natured and funny as well as helpful during our training. We all trained to do the OPEN WATER e-learning-PADI Certification. We practiced several skills for our confined water dives, and then moved out to the open water for the second part. Several times I had trouble equalizing, and Omar and Gener waited with me and helped me descend separate times, which was comforting. The days of dive training were extremely tiring but very fun and rewarding. After our training, during our boat dive, I was worried that I’d have trouble equalizing again, but the divemaster, Jorge, told me that we’d all stick together and if I had any issues we could all return and drop me off back at the boat. It turned out that I was fine, and I dove successfully with everyone after all! We saw several reefs on the boat dive, and they were all alive and beautiful. It was an unreal experience, looking at all these creatures that I’d only seen on tv before. I’m glad that we got to dive with Dive Paradise, the friendly instructors made the already exciting experience of diving even more joyful and memorable.

Dive Paradise was responsible for creating and experience of a lifetime. Right when we got there, they were already super organized with paperwork we needed to fill out and we were quickly able to throw belongings in a provided locker and get fitted for our gear. We made our way to a shaded hut, where we met our awesome instructors, Omar and Gener. We were coached through some basics on land about gearing up and some safety precautions and then we hit the water. We were super fortunate to have our “confined water” training in a natural alcove with ocean water and real marine life. For most certifications, this training occurs in a chlorinated swimming pool, but being the salt water was already a bonus to the experience. Shortly after being in the alcove, we began taking our first breathes underwater which was a surreal experience just in itself. One of our buddies experienced some minor shock and panic when this entirely new experience was presented, but Gener expertly coached him at his own pace, completely understanding the scenario. Our friend basically claimed that he owed Gener his life. Though this statement was maybe a little dramatic, but Gener definitely did do an excellent job at handling the situation, while Omar continued training the rest of our group. We swapped our tanks for fresh ones and continued our training. Where most people would do further training in some other confined environment, we were able to do our controlled training as actual dives off the shore of the Dive Paradise, where we were able to practice our skills but also follow Omar and Gener on our first real dive while enjoying the scenery and wildlife. We returned the next day for similar learning techniques, gratefully with the same instructors. Both did extremely well with the training. They were friendly and competent, and I felt very at ease and prepared for the boat dive that we had the following day. Once on the boat, we were directly addressed by the head divemaster, Jorge, and we were asked of any concerns or questions. He made sure we were quite comfortable and not stressed. He would be the dive master that would be with us on our dives, which was very comforting to know that we would have someone to follow. Once in the water, we got to truly experience the incredible amazements of scuba diving. The extremely blue water, the colorful coral, the various fish and marine life, and the sensation of breathing underwater was so surreal, that it felt like I was living in a movie. I had to keep reminding myself, “Damn this is really happening in my life right now.” Jorge as well as our photographer would point out notable attractions to make sure we did not miss anything special. The whole time I felt extremely safe and relaxed as we enjoyed drifting through the beautiful reefs. Every part of the accommodating and helpful staff made this awesome experience one that I will remember for the rest of my life.
