This is our second time staying at the Hotel Cozumel and using Dive Paradise for shore diving. We always dive with another company because we don’t mind paying a decent amount more to have a boat/everything completely to ourselves (or very close to it). Dive Paradise is able to accommodate large groups however and the office staff has always treated us like gold.

Their prices are extremely reasonable and the customer service is always top notch. In fact I witnessed several people who I would find very difficult to remain polite with arguing with some of the staff members and they treated them more than fairly and were much more patient with them than I would have ever been. Remember, it is not the dive shops fault if the weather does not allow you to dive that day and it is also not their fault if you lost or forgot your equipment at home and they don’t have something that you want last minute especially being they multiple handle XL groups of people every single day.

I highly recommend them if you have a group of eight or more or if you are shore diving in front of the Hotel Cozumel. They are some of the nicest people on the island and we will definitely use them again when we stay here again!

Did 10 dives with dive paradise during my stay in Cozumel. Are dive master Jorjay was excellent!!! He is a great diver and very attentive to all the divers he is with. One of the best dive master I’ve had in Cozumel !! Took us to very cool spots and we saw many great creatures. The only issue with are diving was the dive shop.... bring passo and pay cash !! They will try and rob you!! DO NOT USE NYTROX!!!! They will charge you 17$ us extra per dive on top of the air that is already included

When our original trip plans got canceled we scrambled to find other options that fit our flight plan. Dive Paradise was the first dive operation to respond so they got the nod.

This could have easily been a five star or two star review. I choose four stars because our dive guide Jose and boat Capt. Roberto were top notch. They took care of our group and were very friendly.

The lower possible score was strictly related to the boat that our group was allotted. Open hull fast boat with zero cover makes for a blistering day of diving in August. Combine the topside conditions with swift water drift dives and you get some weary divers.

Fortunately our group are well seasoned divers and they just rolled with the hand we were dealt.

Overall it was a great few days of diving but bear in mind that this time of year the currents can be challenging and you better be comfortable with your dive skills.

We booked a week-long dive package for a small group. The week consisted of daily slow boat transportation, two days of mechanical problems, and a day on the boat with the captain drunk!

This week the dive operation had about 25 divers from our hotel which was a tiny fraction of the usual number of divers. While operating at a limited capacity, I would expect outstanding and efficient service! But instead, we would ask each day to be on the other faster boats instead of the Aries which didn’t arrive until 8:30am each day and took about 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the Palancar sites. In effect this caused us to return to the hotel after 2pm which gave us limited time for lunch before the 3pm afternoon dive. Therefore each day we lost approximately 2 hours of time that we could have been relaxing at the resort in comparison to the divers on the other boats who returned much earlier.

One day, the boat had mechanical issues which resulted in the Aries going even slower! On another day, the boat began having mechanical issues again and also the boat captain was drunk! This resulted in additional time delayed as the guides determined what steps to take. The guides requested another boat and captain for us to transfer to so that we could dive safely. But the fact that the dive operator put us in a dangerous situation and when we returned the staff did not acknowledge the situation nor offer an apology or refund was shocking and unacceptable!

The unsatisfactory service daily combined with the culmination of the entire week’s poor service is very disappointing and unprofessional. Over the course of the week communication with staff was unclear and inconsistent. We should have received compensation for the day we had the drunk captain at a minimum and for the entire week of substandard service.

The dive guides during the week did a great job getting our equipment ready and pointing out fish underwater including: Jorge 2, Sergio, Giovani, and Fernando.

We contacted Dive Paradise regarding our experience and they told us the captain was fired and they only offered us a two tank dive on our next visit for all of the problems encountered, but there will not be a next visit!

I had my dive "excursion" cancelled by the cruise/provider at the last minute. So I started emailing outfits to try and salvage my dive day. The folks at Dive Paradise really came through, they immediately reserved me a two tank dive from shore (what can you do, when you're constrained by "cruise time"?) with the hope of upgrading if they got another booking from a diver from cruise ship. They did not, so I was able to hire a divemaster/guide and two tanks for a great price and pay at the site because of the last minute deal, got a personally guide shore dive, AND we saw a beautiful Marlin too boot.

Again thanks to Dive Paradise for rescuing my trip.

The guides were ok. The shop itself is expensive for rentals, so bring the gear if you can. They are pretty inflexible on their schedules too. They will book you for a day but if they don't have a 4th person you either lose the dive or have to pay extra for that dive. We were 3 divers and I did a fair amount of work trying to find a 4th diver for a night dive and afternoon dive I already paid for. We did book a trip to the Cenotes through them and they have all my equipment sizes mess up. All the equipment was way too big for me. Until that point, I was giving them 3 stars but this incident was unacceptable. I confirm with them ahead of time and they still send the wrong sizes. Few divers use other dive shops after trying this one and they seem happier with the other dive shop. I will definitely use a different dive shop next time.

The weather couldn’t have been lovelier for our first day of diving with Dive Paradise, and the water was so beautiful and clear! When we first arrived, the staff and instructors were very efficient with helping us get our paperwork done so we could quickly move on to the training. Our instructors, Omar and Gener, were super good-natured and funny as well as helpful during our training. We all trained to do the OPEN WATER e-learning-PADI Certification. We practiced several skills for our confined water dives, and then moved out to the open water for the second part. Several times I had trouble equalizing, and Omar and Gener waited with me and helped me descend separate times, which was comforting. The days of dive training were extremely tiring but very fun and rewarding. After our training, during our boat dive, I was worried that I’d have trouble equalizing again, but the divemaster, Jorge, told me that we’d all stick together and if I had any issues we could all return and drop me off back at the boat. It turned out that I was fine, and I dove successfully with everyone after all! We saw several reefs on the boat dive, and they were all alive and beautiful. It was an unreal experience, looking at all these creatures that I’d only seen on tv before. I’m glad that we got to dive with Dive Paradise, the friendly instructors made the already exciting experience of diving even more joyful and memorable.

Just spend a week in Cozumel with a group of 15 divers diving with Dive Paradise. What makes diving with a group there so great is that for the week you get the same boat and crew so that they get to know your dive skills as well as interests and you get to know them and how they operate, makes things much smoother. I want to thank Julio at the shop and Jose, Anahid, Alejandro and the captain of the boat for a great and safe time. I was impressed with their selection of the reefs and their concern about the current and other factors that would impact our experience. This was not easy to do considering the range of experience that our group brought, but they did a great job.
The other factor that the dive center had to deal with was whether the port would be open or not, due to the strong winds, allowing the dive boats to come and pick us up.
This is out of their control as the harbor master makes that decision, on our first day the port was closed initially and then opened, but there was an issue with our dive boat not having the tanks loaded. So we got a complimentary dive on the house reef which turned out to be a good thing as we were able to do a thorough buoyancy check before heading out the next morning.

We (my wife and I) just returned after a week on the island, June 20 - 27. We dove 15 dives with Dive Paradise. We were on the Coqueta and had a wonderful time. We dove with Dive Masters Memo, Samuel, Jorge, and Antonio. All of them great guides. We were lucky to have the boat all to ourselves for three days. We like to dive slow and really look at things and they were all very patient with us. We also got a chance to dive with a wonderful photographer, Cinzia Barito, she was taking promo shots for Dive Paradise and took several of us. She put it together in a nice arrangement and played it for us. We took the opportunity and bought the photos she had of us. Check her work out by googling her name. Over all we could not have had a better trip, Dive Paradise is #1 in our opinion and we will be back to dive with them again.

I've had a bad experience with dive Paradise I paid for 14 Dives I only use 10 of them they said that I would have to pay extra to go on an afternoon dive they said that I canceled and I did not. Dive Paradise did not handle this situation very good at all. Dive Paradise by arguing with me turn a good trip into a bad trip real fast.
