My wife and I have been enjoying the movies in foreign, mostly Latin countries for years and our experience on Cozumel has been no different. The Cinepolis in the Chedraui Plaza is a seven theater complex with stadium style seating and very reasonable prices for a pleasant afternoon or evening experience away from the beaches and restaurants. As we are big film fans this is something we do at least once every trip to the island, the theater complex and films is more modern and up to date than the other movie theater (Borges??) on Avenida 30. Wednesday night is bargain night ($3) and senior rates are $4 the rest of the week. We saw the new Twilight film on opening night with maybe 20 people in attendance. Films change on Fridays. Check it out...

We were so excited that they had movies in English. It was unexpected but super fun. If you are looking for a way to just have a relaxing and affordable thing to do in a rainy day, this movie theater is great.

Went to cinepolis because we had a streak of bad weather. I wish Canadian movie theatres were like this. 230 pesos for two of us to see an English movie. This also included 2 huge drinks and a large fresh popcorn! Beautiful seats that recline and super clean!

I did not expect the Cinepolis to be so nice. We saw three movies while in Cozumel. Do not be surprised if locals continue to use their cell phones, and other locals yell at those using them. If you sit higher up, you may also be in the midst of local teens who are there to socialize rather than watch the movie. This is actually the only place in Cozumel where we encountered rude locals. (Patrons). If you are a tourista, they think it is ok to cut in line in front of you. I did not think the seats were comfortable at all. All in all, I enjoyed the movies even with the issues mentioned. If you plan to see movies, download the app to your phone. It shows you times and what movies are in English with subtitles and which are in Spanish. Beware: We purchased tickets 10 minutes after a show started. We explained we wanted the next showing at 8:05. Always check your tickets for showtime! They sold us seats for 5:35. Thank goodness a nice patron translated back and forth and helped us get the issue resolved.

Mexico has come such a long way. A few years ago I took in a movie in Cancun and the theater was run down and had a horrible sound system. I went to see a movie at Cinepolis in Playa del Carmen yesterday and everything was great. The theater was clean, cool, and the sound system was incredible. The best part was a ticket only costs 50 pesos (approximately $3.25 U.S.) Outstanding value!

It gets the job done as a movie theater. Prices for concessions are good here, so that's a bonus. Theaters are clean. Temperatures kept comfortable.

Good big comfortable seats, most of the movies are in English, and sub-titled for the locals.

In my few days stay on Cozumel I decided to go to cinema. So good that they clear information in Internet when You can see movie in English with subtitles and when in Spanish. Sits was very comfortable - you can change position or with one move make a double one.
And tickets had a good price.
