This quaint factory is located away from the downtown hustle. Tour starts with the history of Mayan chocolate making, then , you experience hands on making chocolate with a grinder. Lots of fun and educational, even my husband enjoyed it. Afterwards you sample of the chocolates they make and see parts of the factory, grinding process and packaging. Small nice... More

We really enjoyed our chocolate tasting today, but the hi-light was the amazing coffee. So much so, we left with 3 bags of coffee ($20 USD a piece). Upon making the coffee, we were extremely disappointed to realize that it is NOT what they serve there (good coffee, but no where near the cinnamon deliciousness that is served up front).... More

We chose this day trip as an alternative to the Beach in Cozumel on our most recent cruise. It was a $12 cab ride - about 15 minutes to the Factory. It's small but charming and the staff was excellent. We made our own chocolate and the tour was very informative with a visit to their boutique gift shop at... More

I completely enjoyed the tour. it was a great mix of history and hands on education. Everyone was genuine and welcoming. The tour never felt like a sales tactic but a sincere sharing of the origins of chocolate.

My wife requested this tour and I was merely compliant. But, this was so cool. It's small, personable, and has a wonderful atmosphere. We have been to medium and large chocolate factories before. This small place is by far my favorite. It's not what you expect. It's better. But, it is VERY hard to find. Get a taxi, even if... More

Chocolate Kaokao Factory was a great add to our tour in Cozumel. This is a lot of fun especially for history buffs because its very informative with a really neat exhibit and presentation about how the chocolate is made by the Mayans. They give lots of free sample tasting which we really enjoy and appreciate. A lot of cool souvenirs... More

My family and I enjoyed the factory visit June 10 as part of the Tours Plaza taxi tour in Cozumel. We spent about an hour making chocolate, tasting samples and learning some of the history of the chocolate-making process. The stop was a lot of fun, and Victor, our guide, was an absolute joy to talk to about everything from... More

Victor was an excellent tour guide! very knowledgeable and fun! The tour includes tasting allow with a wonderful history lesson on the development for chocolate. With more tasting, you move to a small room where you get to make your own chocolate bar. Such a fun activity for the whole family!
