We had a great time with Luis. He showed us the backyard and then took us to the market to buy some produce. We then went back to the class where we learned how to clean a cactus. Otherwise, what was a bit disappointing was...More

My 13-year-old daughter and I took this class as a personally-booked off-shore excursion from our cruise when Josefina was leading the class and tour. The home was thankfully away from the tourist area, and easy to find. After arriving we went on a walking tour...More

So much fun learning about authentic Cozumel cuisine. I feel comfortable preparing new creations by the guidance of our chef, Luis. I attended the class alone but was accompanied by 4 others that were there with a cruise. We visited a local market & picked...More

I surprised my sister and brother in law with a culinary delight. We arrived and Luis explained all we were going to do. We headed to the market to buy our supplies. Stopped at a tortilla factory and sampled fresh tortillas. Wow. Loved the market...More

The class consisted of me and my wife. We met Luis and he showed us the backyard where they grow various herbs and have some citrus trees. After explaining the class, Luis took us to the local market where he bought items for our meal....More

This was a fun and interesting outing with emersion of the culture! It was in a local home and shopping in a local market. The host/teacher was delightful. I plan on going again!!

On our one day in Cozumel on our recent cruise, my chef husband and I had a great "foodie" day at Josefina's Cocina Con Alma, first shopping in a local market, and then learning to cook a variety of delicious Mexican dishes, many of which...More

The class started with a trip to the local market. We were expecting a tour of the market and an intro to some of the local foods. However, we basically all just stood around waiting for our chef to buy the ingredients on his own....More

The people were nice, the food was good, but certainly not worth $80 per person. The man teaching the class was pleasant enough, but not a chef. Much of what was made was made in the kitchen behind the scenes, including some of the more...More

Hi - my apologies for missing this question - it depends on where you ship is docked. If downtown Cozumel the site is walkable and if outside it requires a 10 min taxi ride. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy... More
Hi, I was in the class about 2 weeks ago and enjoyed it very much! Everything was delicious.... I am interested in the cookbook Josephina had at the class that she said we would be able to see online. She didn't want to sell the ones she had at the class because she wasn't 't happy with the way they turned out. Where can I buy one?

So happy to hear that you joined us. Thank you! Yes, we no longer sell hard copies - it was easier to go paperless, so there is an e-cookbook that is available. Send us a direct email message and we will send you the details... More

We'll be in Cozumel next week, 1/27 - 2/1. I know the island is gearing up for Carnival; will you be offering cooking classes during this period? My husband & I would love to attend!
