First square you'll encounter after disembarking PDC ferry is this park and the square around it. The Insta letter sign is here.
It's a classic Mexican (Spanish) style plaza surrounded with shops, bars and restaurants. Good idea to have a drink in one of them to wash down the ferry ride sea sickness, soak up the atmosphere and to make a plan for the day.
It's more popular and picturesque after sunset when locals flock here.

Public square in San Miguel de Cozumel near the ferry dock and overlooking the water. Not much going on when I passed through. Many shops and restaurants in the streets nearby. Nothing really drew me to spend any time here.

We spent every other night here because the atmosphere was pleasant and we could find the local treat places for dessert. Definitely try the the marquesitas. It's the local treat and very good and cheap. The artisanos were pricey but some were fair, you just have to bargain with them and let them know you're not just going to fall for anything they want.

The Benito Juarez park is a great place to begin exploring San Miguel. On entering the park from Rafael E. Melgar Avenue, the conch fountain will be seen. It is a sculpture of a woman which becomes a conch shell at the top. The fountain has water flowing from different levels, and the best photo is taken from the northern end, looking back towards the sea. If you walk to the center of the square, the zero kilometer marker will be seen. This is the central marker for distances in Cozumel. To the right of the Zero kilometer, is the "Meeting Place" which is another great photo opportunity.
To the right of the park, slightly hidden behind plants, is the colourful "Cozumel Island" sign which many tourists take photos with. To the left of the park is a statue of Benito Juarez. Benito was president of Mexico between 1858 and 1872. He was leader at one of the most difficult times in the history of Mexico, as it was 10 years after the end of the Mexican American war, where Mexico had lost Texas, and he had to survive the civil war of 1858-1860, and the French invasion between 1862-1867. He was restored to power after the French departed in 1867, and is a symbol of resistance to foreign intervention. His birthday is celebrated as a public holiday and his image is on the 20 peso note.

Beautiful park located in the center of Cozumel. Very peaceful with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea. Surrounded by shops and restaurants. This park is where you will find the multicolored "Isla Cozumel" sculpture. Lots of benches in the shade of tropical foliage. Nice breeze coming off the water. Excellent location to relax and take some photos. Also has FREE WiFi. Definitely worth a visit.

Attractive square, right next to the ferry dock. It contains the brightly coloured Cozumel sign for a photo op. Limited shade so not somewhere to hang out too long

Very picturesque and with areas to enjoy some sculptures, shops around and sit for a while to enjoy some sweets or food while watching the time go by.. Recommended.
