These guys are great. Energetic DM's Great locations and small boats. We dove with one other couple. DM was very good at working with my wife getting down and equalizing. She took us on the most memorable dive thru coral formations. So Awesome! We'll be back!!!

Throughout the whole process from booking the dive to making the dives, the whole staff was extremely responsive, attentive to every detail and very helpful. They were often helping/servicing before anyone was even thinking about it. The Dive Master Chris and Boat Captain Hector were both extremely professional and knowledgeable. Also, the equipment was in excellent condition and it really felt like they want to offer the best diving experience.
We were also very lucky to see during the 2-tank dive dolphins, a hawksbill turtle, an eagle ray, a shark and much more. Just know it doesn't happen every time.
You simply cannot go wrong by choosing Scuba Tony for your true dive experience at Cozumel!

Best dive shop ever! We will definitely come back and only dive with Scuba Tony! We dove 6 days and every one of our dives were amazing. We have done 36 dives and this was the best by far. ☺️ Thank you Scuba Tony for an amazing experience!

My husband and I were on vacation in Cozumel for his birthday and wanted to get some dives in. Scuba Tony was recommended to us through some friends back home in Texas. We’re so happy we dove with Scuba Tony! We did a private guided dove it first day because I wanted to more practice deploying my DSMB. Moises (Moi) was our guide and he was exceptional! He was attentive to my husband and I, made us feel safe & comfortable, had a great personality and did a wonderful job with advance review of the DSMB deployment with me. He was also our guide for our second day of diving but in a group setting. We would probably opt for a private guide again in the future because of the tailored dive to us. The currents were pretty strong and we needed to keep our group safely together off to the edge of the reefs towards the end of our dive. I wish we could have been able to discover the reefs more with just the 2 of us and our guide. So much beautiful marine life to explore! Can’t wait to dive Cozumel again!

I cannot say enough good things about Scuba Tony. This was my 4th dive trip to Cozumel and 1st time with Scuba Tony. What a difference of experience with Scuba Tony vs. other larger dive operators. The Dive Masters and Capitans were all excellent....skilled, attentive, and FUN! Great customer service and accommodating to customer diving reef requests. Scuba Tony is now my "go to" dive operator.

Excellent service and guidance all around. We did 4 days of diving with Scuba Tony - a refresher course with shallow dives and 3 2-tank dives. All of the dive masters and Captains were knowledgeable, professional, and showed us a fantastic time.
From hotel dock pickups, full service equipment rentals and taking us to the best sites to avoid crowds and maximize the currents and light conditions, we could not have asked for more!

The reefs around Cozumel are absolutely gorgeous and not to be missed. The crews that Scubatony have in place are incredible and accommodating.
Papo, Daniel, Conoje, and all the email communication was great. Don't hesitate to utilize their services.

So if you are reading this then you are doing your research and it means your dive experience is important to you – awesome - I dove deep into the info chase before finally choosing SCUBATONY - there are a lot of good operators on Cozumel but these guys ticked all our boxes - I was diving with my 18 yr old daughter who is advanced 50+ dives and a lifeguard soooo the safety expectation was very high. Both of us did 18-19 nitrox tanks each over a week so we got to see the operation inside out - Lets get right to it - the hardest working members of SCUBATONY are no doubt the reservation team - they always responded immediately and kept us dialed in the whole trip - we had initial Canadian weather cancellations and rebooking's and diver changes, add in a few nitrox courses to confuse everything and they totally kept it all straight - thank you so much Sabrina - Dona and Joei and anyone else that keeps this operation rolling in space!
We travel with our own gear and a stupid large Nauticam setup - after dropping our gear off at the marina it was set up and in perfect order for each dive – that is so key - they kept a close watch on our regs and bcds and let us know when something wasn't right - My reg needed some work after I blew a ring and they had it back in a day - amazing ! - I used a rental and it was just as good as my gear - next box - check this – most important - there is never more than 6 divers and they are out early on the first dive – the earlier the better because when you come up it will be a gong show - they hit dive sites at the correct times - If you have dove with more than one dive team on a boat then run away! One dive team of 6 divers is the only way to go.
OK - SCUBATONY Boat Captains - these guys are your lifeline - we had a few different captains and they were all extremely hard working and safety conscious. They are monitoring the current and dive plan so they get to a surfacing dive team way under a minute - usually they were right there – Remember the captains are working crazy hard – they don’t just drive the boat they are running, pulling and changing gear all day - next key box - they bring the gear to your seat and help you in – then you pop up waiting for the signal to rollover - when you get out - all gear is taken off in the water and just up the ladder you go - that is key - fast entry fast exit and your tank is changed before you even get up the ladder – a special shout out to Conejo who we dove with the most during the week - this guy is loving life ! always smiling and while you are down there diving Conejo is in a full-on dance party - jamming hard to the tunes - I stayed up for a dive b/c my jaw was sore and somehow those 80-90’s songs kicked while chilling on the water ! I never caught him busting his moves but no doubt when alone it is going down! I dive with a ridiculously heavy camera and even in a small boat Conejo pulled and dropped it to me each dive - full control - thanks buddy – that thing is almost as important as my kid – Next key box - The boat is rolling with goodies when you come up - crazy variety of different cookies and g-bars – the marshmellow things are suspect though lol! The fruit is ridiculous and this is where Conejo shines - while you are diving he is channeling his best Gordon Ramsey impersonation and sprinkling a secret spice on the mangos - crazy good - tip him well and maybe he will tell you - I took jars home with me from the store - pickup on the beach was awesome - the beaches in Cozumel are some of the best in the area and walking out from where you stay and jumping into the boat and gone – minutes to the dive site - amazing -
Ok the most important box - we have had many types of divemasters over the years and this is the part that can make or break a full out dive vacation - It is really about the passion a divemaster has for showing you the world below while maintaining safety at all times. SCUBATONY Divemasters hit it out of the park – All the divemaster’s we had were great.
On our first day we did a course and a couple of dives with Chris – awesome and she has tons of crazy dive experiences from all around the world - Corvando - awesome as well. He grew up local and has ridiculous island knowledge. For the remainder of the 16 dives we scored Daniel from Brazil - This guy rocked the trip - solid divemaster - always friendly, excited and got us whatever we needed - he quickly evaluated our skills / tank consumption and ensured the diving matched our level - within a dive or two our weight and trim were made better than when we first jumped in at the start of the week - We hit it all that we could - Daniel always made sure to not do the same dive unless it was requested - We did mornings - afternoons - and a few nights with a bluelight setup - very trippy - it was ridiculous diving and blew my kids mind - walls - swim throughs and on top of all that we had a strong bucket list of nature to see - we hit them all including the elusive seahorse - so that of course is the area and how much you dive but Daniel was always watching and letting us know what he had found or what was coming at us - Daniel quickly realized I wasn't going to blow 300psi to get over and see a lobster - not that lobsters aren't cool but the amount of work to hold a shot in current can really drop your tank so sometimes I was picky - air consumption vs the shot is always being evaluated - by the end I knew enough to stay back and under him a bit as he would spot the eagle rays first, allowing me to drop and set up the shot - wicked viz - ridiculous vid. If you want to do some shooting - request Daniel as he has experience with underwater photo/video - he gets the setups. After 15 dives you would think we would have zoned out on the predive but Daniel always mixed the required safety messages in with the actual dive info so it made more sense - it really ensured I knew what I was getting into with the camera and what we could come across in the area - seems basic but many divemaster don't do briefings well. Once up he was hosting the boat with a fresh shower at the back and getting the refreshments flowing. Cold drinks – personal water bottles and take the wind jacket when they offer it up – by the third dive I was all over that jacket – great for wind and taking the chill off. From a safety perspective Daniel was right on the ball checking air consumption regularly and when we had a nervous diver join us for one day – he was able to gently bring her down and keep her calm throughout the dive. I never worried about my kid once while under the water with Daniel which really allowed me to let loose on the videography – Awesome - thanks buddy, wicked trip - make sure you get off that live-aboard in Sept and are back in Cozumel for Dec - we have already put in our request for you. So cheers mate - incredible week and Cassie learned a lot from you for sure. Watch for Daniel leading a float if you are there during carnival – gotta be in the blood !
It is clear that the owners have created something special with SCUBATONY – We choose SCUBATONY based on reviews and what we wanted out of a dive trip – believe me, most of those you dive with at SCUBATONY will be returning divers - We were lucky enough to have one of the owners join us for an afternoon dive - Adam is enjoying island life for sure - so chill - meeting Adam in the morning in downtown Cozumel on our first day after a crazy bag drag from Vancouver immediately set me into island mode – and you never know what UFC fighter might be getting wet next - oh another key box - check the website as these guys have a few cars to rent - this was awesome - forget the taxis - you will spend just as much if not more than renting - it allows you to go to the marina or town easily if weather pushes the dives in the other direction - ya only going up and down one road basically so one tank of gas is good and forget about all the Mexican driving/gas station horror stories – this is Gilligan’s island, its all chill - there is so much better food out there than the very lame resort food and it’s ridiculously cheap if you know where to go – trust me the car was a key addition even while staying at a resort. Check the taco stand gift shop place across from the Allegro – spectacular large tacos for cheap.
Never did meet Tony but it is evident that Adam and Tony understand it is a team effort because these guys have it dialed in from top to bottom - Well done SCUBATONY - you have scored our dive team whenever we are on our annual Cozumel excursion - give them a try and lock in more than a few days of diving – the more you dive the more you see – they will blow your mind - wicked time. The only request I have is - sell those wind jackets and get a load of black T-shirts ! Cya in Dec 2023 !

My husband and I booked the intro scuba session and the experience lived up to all the great reviews. Moses and Kris were our dive instructors, and they were amazing! Miguel was our captain and they all worked so hard the entire trip to make sure we had fun, felt safe and enjoyed the experience! I can't say enough about this team. They were friendly, professional, safe and they made sure we felt comfortable the entire time we were on the boat and in the water. They also went out of their way to make sure sure we saw everything possible on our dive. The experience was incredible, and has ignited a low of scuba for us both. We will definitely book with them again on our next trip.

My husband did his Basic Open Water certification through ScubaTony. Their Dive Instructor Israel Rivera was a top notch instructor. Very attentive, safety oriented and an excellent communicator. I was also doing a refresher course at the same time, as I hadn’t been diving for 10 years. Israel was very good at addressing our concerns and provided personal, professional service. The dive boat is masterfully captained by Papo. Small boat with only four of us diving, and they selected Chankanaab and Paradise as good locations for two newbie divers. I have booked a bunch more dives with them and am looking forward to it!

Olá! Boa noite! Você me aconselharia a fazer o curso Open Water? Quais os valores, por gentileza? Obrigado! Espero vê-los em breve

Hello do you visit the cenotes dive sites on the mainland? We really want to be based on Cozumel for 10 days but also want a dive over in one of the cenotes.
Thanks

All of the Cenotes are in the Yucatán Peninsula which is easily accessible via the ferry to Playa Del Carmen. There are various tour operators once you get off the ferry or you can be adventurous and rent a car and drive to them. Very easy to find, right off Rt. 307.

I have two questions:
1. We have two certified divers that will be on the boat and an extra person just along for the boat ride. How much would it be for two divers and one extra passenger?
2. We are in Cozumel on a Celebrity Cruise. If we booked the 1:00 PM excursion would we be back to the ship by 3:30?

Not sure about question #1 but question #2 would be a "Probably Not". Their 2 dive excursions usually go 4 hours or so between getting to the reef, orientation, dive of 45 minutes, 1 hour break in between dives and then second dive. HOWEVER, if you reach out to them directly, they are known for working with cruise ship passengers to get a start time that'll work. I would encourage to email them because they really are the best down here. Hope that helps...

Your question posted to me not Tony’s team... Yes, there are certain hotels they will pick you up at. There is more info on their site under FAQ - look under the logistics tab.
(I tried to include the link but trip advisor blocks html posts.)
Or email them directly, they are very friendly :) (Again, the email address link was blocked)

Hi!
I and my wife are not PADI-certified (and not proficient swimmers), although we have dived before two times. We would like to dive with ScubaToby during our upcoming trip to Mexico. Is the 2 tank dive for certified divers? How different is it versus Discover Scuba dive in terms of seeing marine life?
Which one would you recommend for us given we have already tried diving previously?
Thanks,

Hi TravelerGeek25,
Thank you for your inquiry, we would definitely recommend you to do the Discover Scuba Dives, while you decide to go for that Certification!
We will take you to a beautiful and colorful reef, full of coral and marine life in general. Please visit our website and send us an email, I will be happy to provide you with full and detailed information.

We are solely a dive operation. I know TripAdvisor can be confusing as it lists dive operations with snorkeling and fishing charters.
We have no recommendations for a snorkeling tour either. Our last people we referred did not live up to our expectations as a service provider.
If you are interested in trying scuba diving we can do a Discover Scuba for non-certified divers. If not, no worries! Just thought we'd let you know.
Please email us for more information.
Have a wonderful time on your trip if we don't see you!
