One of the real highlights in chicken itza. The atmosphere of the jungle and buildings are amazing. We counted also many iguanas.

Then we visited Chichen-Itza, the main ruins there remarkable, but Observatorio was something outstanding. It is a blend of magical and scientific construction, completely different in design to most we saw so far. Must see while you at the place!

This constuction at the Chichén Itzá site was once an astronomical observatory. The observatory is called "Caracol", that means snail (because of the spiral form of the observatory stairs) and is above a raised platform.

Yes. Only a short walk from the pyramid. It's the oldest part of the site I think.
