This was a 2nd terrible experience we had with Cancun Airport Transportation, booked through Trip Advisor. We had to give all of our flight info so they would know the time and we booked a private transfer, which implied we would get a fancy car etc. As we exited the airport, we saw literally dozens of people with signs bearing the names of the people they were picking up, but we did not see anyone from CAT. We asked around and were directed to the rep, who was standing across the street, holding the CAT sign under his armpit. He had to look in a "system" for our names, so obviously was not waiting for us. He directed us to stand off to the side and wait for our driver. After 30 min we went to check with him and he said it would be 5-8 more, so after another 15 we checked again. He told us that our driver did not have the security credentials to enter the airport, so they were going to have to send another.
We were finally picked up by the new driver at 5:42 after our flight arrived at 4:00. The rep told the driver (in Spanish) to take us directly to our hotel and not pick anyone else up - strange as we booked a private transfer. We got a beat up van and not a car that was shown on the booking page. Nobody offered to help with our bags. We saw multiple flights of people come and go while we waited and my children sweated in their travel clothing. All in all, just a terrible experience......and a taxi, which were readily available the entire time, costs 20% less than we paid.
