COVID guidelines are not followed at all. When asking staff about it we were told ‘it’s not my business’ and ‘there’s nothing I can do’. If there is an outbreak, a lot of tourists will avoid Cancun causing the livelihood of these people to be affected. It is certainly (and literally) their business and there is certainly something they can do. The boat crew was all very friendly and polite. The snorkeling was a joke. Don’t go on this trip if you want to snorkel. You get dropped off and are rushed to swim to the pickup point. There is no coral and barely any fish. You’re not told where the underwater sculpture is, so you will miss it. Be prepared to be exhausted and rushed for nothing. They say the boat leaves at 9:30 AM and you need to be there 30 minutes prior. Instead the boat doesn’t leave until enough people have been pressured in upgrading to a smaller boat for more money. We left after 10:00 AM. The buffet was good and worth it. We were told the boat left at 1:00 PM, but we didn’t leave until after 1:15 PM. Don’t take this trip if you want to see Isla Mujeres. You will get about an hour and a half, which gives you enough time to buy some souvenirs and head back. Don’t think about relaxing on the beach, explore the island or do anything else. You don’t have time. The cherry on top. We had a small infant with us, which had an accident last minute, causing us to get back 5 minutes after the boat was supposed to take us back to Cancun. You would think it wouldn’t matter, since the boat hasn’t left on time a single time. Well, we were left behind with our infant. No communication, nothing. We saw the boat leave as we got to the dock. They waved us out as we were waving for help. They take your email address and phone number, but are not concerned with attempting to contact you before they literally leave you stranded on an island. Don’t book this trip. It’s not worth it. You will be pressured in upgrading. You will be rushed and you will be left behind. Take the ferry instead and enjoy the island in your own time. As a side note, extremely loud (and mostly obnoxious) music is played. This is not recommended as a family trip.

I want to give a big shout out to our Tour Guide MARCO. He was FANTASTIC!!!. The bus ride was comfortable. The food at the open air buffet was good. The swimming experience at the cenote was wonderful and truly unique. The tour company directions for the early morning pickup point are awful. Their instructions indicated to wait in front of a hotel that had been sold and had a different name than they listed, very confusing. The bus was 30 minutes late. It was not a good start to the day. Also, you will be hit with additional charges above and beyond the tour fees. There is an addl. tax for the Chichen Itza site ($23.00), any beverages at the lunch place are gonna cost $2.50 each. There is addl. charges for admission to the cenote and life jacket rental (required) Overall the tour was good.

We had a great great tour. As many other reviewers have noted we had Marco as our tour guide and he was wonderful. I can get annoyed sometimes with tour guides trying to force funny, to force jokes that I know they've done a thousand times but that is not the case her as Marco was truly kind and funny, a great man to spend the day with. Terrific translator providing information in both Spanish and English flawlessly and knew a lot about everything. Very knowledgable. Other traveler tips: bring ENOUGH water! You can buy some at Chicen Itza or at lunch but it'll be insanely expensive. I think we paid 2.50 for small bottles at lunch. If you go to any convenience store the day before you can easily bring a couple liter bottles for $2 and be satisfied for two people. Do the same for food to bring for a slight breakfast, it's a long time from your 6am pickup until you eat lunch (there is food available for purchase at Chichen Itza as well but still), so on your convenience store trip grab some granola bars and bring fruit. Lastly, they'll mention the souvenirs around the temple itself aren't worth it and to buy souvenirs at the lunch spot, but I think it'd be smart for some cheap things around the temple itself. Most souvenirs were only a dollar or two at the temple so you could stock up on magnets or knick knacks to give family and friends, whereas the lunch stop was selling items for easily 20x the cost of what they were at the temple. Overall a great tour!!
