The City is a fairly new club in Cancun, with a great party atmosphere for day and nighttime fun! It has a waterpark outside for daytime fun, and a cavernous dance club for nighttime fun! We went on a Saturday night, and the club was hopping! There's stadium style seating, several large bars, and entertainment such as moving dance floors with performing acrobats. Patrons are encouraged to dance on the bars, which are wide enough to not worry about falling off. The music was great, but be prepared, because it's VERY loud. Loudest music of any club in Cancun. Every once in a while, there were blasts of CO2, which felt great, but again was very loud. The drinks were fairly expensive, so I'd suggest the all-inclusive route if you plan to be there for very long. We had a great time, and I would recommend The City to anyone looking for great dancing.

I went to the City on a friday night, september 16 with really low expectations... i dont really like "open bar" clubs because they give you bad alcohol, have to tip a lot and the service is really lousy... but this time i really enjoy the experience at the city...
We had de opportunity to enter the club without paying (try it by asking in the door or to the P.R. agents) and insted of buying the open bar we bought a bottle and they gave us a great table...
The place is huge!!! really amazing! plenty of space to dance, great service, incredible light and laser system, the AC DOES WORK (in Coco Bongo the heat is unbearable!!!) and the waiters were really really nice... the shows are ok, but nothing compared to Cocobongo... but I LOVED the music (pop, hip hop, house, pop rock, r&b, regaetton,etc)! great music and great music system, really top of the line... what can i tell u, i was totally suprised (in a good way) of the whole experience...
I really enjoyed the night I went to The City and totally recommend to visit it if possible...

We had an absolutely brilliant time. the music was hard house mainly, the dj was excellent, the laser light shows and overhead dancers were great. We went as part of an organised group through our hotel, so we paid the 40 dollers (i think it was about this) and got the wrist band to jump the queue and for free drinks all night. The service inside was the same as every other club I visited (just about all of them!)..blokes have to tip, girls dont.
I also went on another night when the club was not so busy and the music not so good. Still danced all night though. You have to check with your entertainment staff at the hotel, for what nights are the best at all the clubs, as they all run on a circuit, ie all the hotels take the holidaymakers to same place on the same night. Of course you can do your own thing but we found this to be the best way to have the maddest nights out!

Yesterday March 9/2020 , I went with 3 friends to the city club,it’s a huge place and nice music and nice show, we wanted to order a hookah but the waiter told us that you need to buy a bottle or table to get a hookah,so he asked for money to give us a table,we did it because we wanted to smoke hookah, they charged us 60 usd and was the hookah manager chubby guy with beard his name is Fernando,then he goes 50 usd. At the end we knew from a waiter that the oficial price is 35usd, and it was bad hookah really. It was nice party with the DJ but the hookah manager and the hookah service ruin it

The place is very cool and very attractive, but the only thing are the waiters who charge you an absurd service fee even if you do not consume. In our case they closed our account and stop de the service in the mid ot the night because of the tip we left (we had no money, only credit card)... were almost 100 dollars without being consumed even though it was our right. We pay $120 to enter ($100 consummation) per person. I wouldn't come back just because of this inconvenience and annoyment of being asked for a tip every 5 minutes. As if that wasn't enough, on the way out was also asked for tip by another waiter...

Got bottle service & they will harass your tables to finish the bottles to make you buy more or kick you out. Super annoying. Place was empty and they will try to convince you to get tables. Music was generic pop, was told it was EDM mostly.

Place is grimy as hell, drinks came in cheap plastic cups. Worst part by far was the cocaine dealer stood in the toilets with a transparent bag with cocaine in it for all to see aggressively trying to sell it to you. At one point he was repeatedly knocking on the toilet stall door when i was in there. The staff were complacent and openly talking to him as he's trying to sell it with it out on display.

We bought the tickets through Las lomas travel agency at the hotel. We spent $360 for us 6 and a table with UNLIMITED BOTTLES. We were promised unlimited bottles as a group of 6 people. Our waiter was so money hungry that he kept asking for tips for every single drink he got us. His name was Jose. We went ahead and gave him 30 bucks to let us have a good time. I requested a piña colada and he said they ran out. I went to the bar myself to get my wife one and they gave me one so he lied there. When the bottle ran out, we asked for the next one. He wanted to charge us for it. Here we are, spending close to 400 and he still wants to charge for the next bottle. We confronted him and said it wasn't right. After going back and fourth, he threatened to give us some "vergasos" and pick us up and disappear us. I have some videos to prove it. We had to leave early because we did not feel safe. He had people watching us closely and I wasn't sure I would make it back home at that point. We wasted all that money for no reason. I do not recommend this place or anywhere these guys work. We left quickly and told our travel guide. We did not feel safe for the remainder of our trip. He did not even partially refund our money but he gave us 6 promo shirts from a different club. The stupid shirts did not make up for our money wasted and threatening us. We will never go back and encourage no one to visit this place. I will not let this stand and I will make this go viral. YALL RUINED THE END OF OUR VACATION THAT INCLUDED A PROPOSAL. This is the guy

I was so excited to go to "The City". What a HUGE let down. We went Sunday Nov, 5 2006 and paid 40.00 per couple to get open bar. We arrived around 10:30 and stayed til almost 1:30 am to see the show WE WERE PROMISED by the people outside who sold us our wristbands. The great show was 3 women on a round platform stage, dressed in leather bikinis dancing to the music. Wow I just paid 40 bucks to see a strip type show. Where were the lights, acrobats, laser shows??????? I was very disappointed. When we repeatedly asked our waiter he would reassure us the show was starting soon, soon. We finally gave up and decided to leave so we put a $10.00 tip on the table for our so called waiter (all he did was walk around with a radio, take our order and then radio it to someone else who actually went to the bar got our drinks and brought them to us, while said waiter stood and watched) As we were leaving the waiter stopped us and actually had the nerve to demand more of a tip. THE NERVE if I could have I would have taken the tip we did leave him back. With that said maybe we went on a bad night. I don't know but it sure wsn't like I thought it was gonna be.

I have been to cancun 4 times in the past year, but this is the first time we decided to go to "The City". This was the absolutly the worst part of the trip. The club left such a bad taste in my mouth that this is the first time I have ever posted a review like this on the net, but I just wanted to warn everyone.
The city is sectioned off in two different sections. The people who pay regular admission and the people who pay extra to be able to have a table and a server. The people who have a table are on the bottom level where the dance floor is and the people who don't are on the second floor with no dance floor, but just a bar that serves rail drinks. Now mind you the people on the first floor are drinking topself.
The only way your allowed on the second floor is if your a drop dead sexy tourist or happen to be with one. I was "lucky" enough to be with two woman that were stunning. So I was able to go downstairs to the dancefloor.
Sounds great right? WRONG downstairs you are met with 50-75 freaky, disrespectful workers who only mission in life is try to disrespect you and your lady. I mean grabbing and pulling them in all different directions. I mean...how the heck they didn't know if that was my wife. They did not care. If it was I wouldn't be sitting here typing this, because I would be in some mexican jail.
We stayed all of 1hour. The level of disrespect was not work the money we spent. I mean its one thing to have some drunk tourist walk up on your lady, but its another to get totally disrespected by the people you just paid to have a good time.
Last but not least, did I mention top shelf downstairs....oh yeah I did, but that didn't matter. Because of my wrist band I still had to take the journey back upstairs to get drink from the appropriate bar.
Needless to say we walked right next door to COCO BONGO and had the great party time that Cancun is known for.
