This was a fantastic experience! I was nervous before going because I had never been diving before. But my guide Gon was so kind, took the time to make sure I was confident and safe, and taught me everything I needed to know. The open water dives were incredible-first diving at the underwater museum and then at a coral reef with tons of life. My husband who is a more experienced diver enjoyed it as well, and our guide gave us more time in the water for my husband and the other more experienced divers to explore. We would definitely come back if we ever had the opportunity!

I'm a certified diver but was travelling with two teenagers new to diving, so we opted for a beginner's course. Sadly one had to cancel on short notice (bad cold), and the other had problems with her ears not clearing, so in the end it was just me and the guide. She adapted the dive on the spot and the two of us had a great tour of the underwater museum. Later she spent some time with the other teenager practicing clearing the ears for a second dive. The rental equipment was in good condition and recently serviced, which sadly is not a given in some places, and pre-dive briefing and safety were taken very seriously. Also, the Coconut Divers t-shirts they sell are very comfortable.

Coconut Divers is an outstanding outfit. Professional and friendly staff, most equipment included, practically valet service aboard. Small boats so remember seasickness medicine! My wife and I dove with Fernando (two dives in the afternoon to museum and reef viz 45-55) and Ulysses (two drift dives in the morning viz ~70). Our Captain was Ricardo for both trips. Everyone was great: friendly, skilled, safe, and helpful. Couldn't ask for more from these wonderful folks. I recommend doing both the morning drift dives and the Museum afternoon dives. We did them in one day and had a delicious lunch at Krudo (which is right behind the dock) in between. There was lots of sea life and the water was crystal clear. If you can only do one trip, the morning drift dive is the better dive IMO. They're drifts (current) to fifty-sixty feet max; based on that you know most of the +s and -s. In my opinion the reef we saw was healthier, the viz was better, and there was a bit more life. The afternoon dives were fun, too, but there was some bleaching on the reef and the viz and sea life, while amazing, was not as good as the morning drift dives. Afternoon upside is that the sites are shallow and have little current, making them better for new divers, but on balance, if you can only do one trip I recommend the morning drift dives. Again, doing both trips is well worth it, as is lunch at Krudo.
