My tour with Jerry was the highlight of my trip to Mexico. There is no better way to tour the archaeological ruins, cultural sites, and natural wonders of the Yucatan peninsula than with a private guide, and there is no better guide than Jerry (Gerardo) Ham. Jerry is incredibly knowledgeable, and will make every detail of your trip safe and fun. As a local guide, Jerry knows all the hidden gems and can tailor any tour to meet the needs of your group. Once you have taken one tour with him, you will be hooked, and will want to plan a trip with him every time you travel to Mexico (speaking from personal experience!). I would definitely recommend Jerry for any tour he offers, and especially now, during this worrisome time with Covid-19, a private guided tour is by far the best and safest option for seeing the sights.

What a great day with Jerry! We meet Jerry at the exact time he promised, 6 am with a pickup at our resort. It was well worth the early wakeup call. Jerry had pre-purchased the tickets necessary which allowed us to bypass the hundred or so folks waiting to purchase tickets at the 9am start time. By being the first group through the turnstiles we managed to avoid crowds all day long! From the jump Jerry was the consummate guide. His depth of knowledge combined with his apparent love for his country, the Mayan culture and their history came through all day. I can't even imagine how many times Jerry has given this tour but he made our group feel like he was still excited to share its "secrets". As an avid history buff and prolofic researcher I purposely avoided looking into Chichen itza prior to our tour. I'm so glad I did. Jerry patiently and throughly answered all of our questions and we never felt rushed. The cenote and colonial city tours where an excellent touch. Looking for the premier tour and a great way to step away from the pool bar at your all-inclusive getaway? Drop the deposit and book Jerry!

Excellent private tour with Jerry. Pickup at 5:45am from our hotel to chichen itza with no unnecessary stops in a van that could seat at least 10. Got there around 8:30am and spent 2 hours learning the historical details about the heritage site. You definitely need a guide to explain the historical significance as there’s very little signage.
I requested stops at Cenote oxman, a drive through Valladolid and cenote suytun. We didn’t swim in the cenotes so the stops were fairly quick. Probably didn’t need to eat at oxman but we were getting hungry. Valladolid was a quaint town but we were tired and hot so didn’t walk around much. We were back in our hotel by 3:30pm. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for an informative, customizable tour. Jerry was not only great at taking tons of pics for us but also walking with us to each cenote and explaining the pricing at oxman.

Jerry was a fantastic guide! He was very responsive in planning our trip, helping us identify the itinerary for a large group (15) and working with us on dietary restrictions. On the day of the tour, he showed up early with his driver and comfortable AC van and kept the group informed and comfortable. He was very knowledgeable, sharing history, culture, and answering all of our group’s many questions. Hope to do a tour with Jerry again in the future!

I booked this tour a couple of months in advanced. I thought this private tour (for 7 young adults in our mid 20s) was cheaper than other tours I viewed. Jerry's response time was always within 24 hours! He explained in detail what the plan would be, his recommendations, what to bring, what to expect, and how to confirm the tour. He recommended 6:00am (this was a Saturday) from our hotel in the Hotel Zone, but knowing my group the earliest they could be ready was 7:00am. Jerry and the driver arrived in our lobby at precisely 7am. He let us nap in the van for the first hour and the second hour he told us a lot of the history about Mayan culture and the sites we will be visiting. He is very passionate about the history about Chichen Itza and he spent about 1.5-2 hours telling us everything there is to know while we were there. He then took us to the cenote ik kil and explained where to change, how to get a life jacket, and where to eat. He told us to meet him in the parking lot at an estimated time but he never rushed us and let us take our time. Lastly he took us to Valladolid and he let us explore on our own the main center and told us to meet him when we were ready. We didnt get back to our hotel till around 8pm. Highly recommended tour. The service was great, the communication was great, the experience was better than I expected. Honestly it wont hurt to just send him an email through his website!

Jerry was an excellent guide. We were very glad that we hired him for a private tour. My mother and I needed to move at a slower pace due to physical limitations, and Jerry was very accommodating. I recommend taking Jerry's advice and going early in the morning to avoid the crowds. We were leaving just as all the tourist busses were arriving. Jerry was on time, informative, professional, and flexible. Our driver was also very professional and we felt safe during the long ride. Vising Chichen Itza and the cenote was an amazing experience and Jerry was a large part of that.

I was able to setup a custom, 5 day tour for my son and myself to visit Chichen Itza and Uxmal.
Itinerary - I was able to setup when and where we wanted to travel and Jerry made valuable inputs. Our plan was to be close to the archeological site for that day so we could be at the gates as the site opened. This meant travel and story near the sites the night before.
Accommodations - Jerry had connections for the locations we chose and was able to secure a guide rate for each location. The Uxmal location was about 50 yards away from the site. It’s a great accommodation and it allowed us To have almost 3 hours of the site seemingly to ourselves.
Knowledge - Jerry is well read on the cultures of the Yucatán and can effectively communicate the history in English and Spanish (and Mayan)
I recommend reaching out to Jerry for any type of adventure you desire. He has the knowledge and the resources to tailor it to your needs and to avoid the major crowds so visiting these archeological sites becomes positively memorable.

I was looking at multiple tour guide options before seeing a recommendation of Jerry. I was very pleased to find out that Jerry lived up to the expectation created by his reviews. He picked up my group of 10 at 6:15am so we could get to Chicken Itza early before the large crowds and heat. Due to it being so early the ride was a breeze since we slept the whole way. Jerry is very knowledgeable about Mayan culture and does a great job delivering that knowledge to his tour group. We had a good time at the cenote and the buffet was fairly good. My group never had a dull moment throughout the trip which is why I would recommend Jerry to everyone.

It’s been a few days now that we have left Mexico and we have never had so much fun. To visit one of the wonders of the world Chichen Itza, we did a private thing with Jerry.. #mexico_gowithjerry.. best decision. He’s kind and patient with his attractions. He informed us every chance he got filling our minds with cultural information on top of answering our questions. He allowed us free time getting our “perfect” picture and went with our timing, and even getting down in the dirt to capture some special moments of ours. Jerry took us around town exploring and stopping when requested and making sure we got our pictures! When visiting Mexico, definitely book him, he’s worth the money!

Our visit was on 2/11/2022, which included seeing Chitzen Itza, lunch, then a swim in a nearb cenote, Ik Kil. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the tour. We were messaged when he was on site and before the scheduled pick up time. Water was provided in the van and away we went promptly at 6am.
Class began as soon as we headed down the road and continued for the entire two hour trip to the site. Jerry is a wealth of knowledge. Being an archeologist, he has an invested interest in the history of the Yucatán. He truly loves what he does and it shows.
We arrived as the site was a opening, before the crowds arrived, and were treated to a spectacular amount of knowledge. He answered all of our questions about the site, Mayan history and included current information of the surrounding area. We spent about 3 hours at the site and as it was getting hot, and the site was getting full of people, we were leaving on our way to lunch.
Lunch is buffet style and again, we arrived before the crowds. Lunch was typical Yucatán food of pork, chicken, beans, rice, tortilllas and fruit, with one drink and included in the tour. Food was very good and filling.
After lunch, we walked to the Cenote which is in the same area and again, before too many people arrive during the hottest part of the day. The cenote was very beautiful with jump off points for the courageous. Rinsing off and life vests are required before entering. Lockers are provided for your things and bathrooms adjacent to the lockers.
After about a 40 minute swim , we were on our way back, which was mostly sleeping, but also learned a good amount about the current state of Mexico. The entire trip from pick up to drop off was about 11.5 hours, so be rested and ready.
He is the one replying to your emails, so please be patient while he is providing tours during the day for others. You also won’t find him at the top of Trip advisor even though he has the best rating of anyone and that’s by choice. Trip Advisor wants him to pay to help promote his business and because he is won’t, you’ll find him lower on the list, but he has earned every bit of the star rating he has and deserves it.
We can’t say enough about Jerry and his team and will definitely use him on our next visit and promote him to all our friends. Thanks Jerry and team for a wonderful experience.

Hi! Do you have tour tomorrow or on Saturday? Our group consist of me, my husband and our 11 months old son. How much will the tour cost? Thank you!
Written January 12, 2023
Is there much walking? Three of the four of us are in excellent health. My best friends husband is a cancer survivor and he can walk a bit, but excessive walking in stifling heat may be too much for him.
Written July 21, 2018
The distances are short but there are also benches under the trees where he can sit and wait for others while doing the walking tour who takes about two hours and something else always depending on the interest of visitors. You should only consider if your sight is in summer the humidity and heat are more extreme, regards

Hola Sue, Thank you very much for your interest in us, first I can tell you there is a big difference between a private tour and a collective tour, in the collective they Will pick up people in different hotels, they make you stop in a tourist trap usually the excuse is to use the bathroom, sometimes They combine tourists from different languages, the cultural information they provide is very limited and of course they do not walk in your pace. On the contrary, in a private tour the treatment is more personalized, you walk at your own pace, the cultural information is much more extensive, there are no stops in tourist traps. Obviously the private tour is more expensive so if you value your time and want to maximize your experience in the country or culture that you visit you will definitely have to be on a private tour. I'll thank you send us an email where you will receive more detailed and accurate information, likewise we need to know where you will be geographically to be able to send you a more suitable quote, thank you for your interest and understanding, Jerry

Does anyone have 4 person group just tour with Jerry and what's the price for 4P group ?
Written March 27, 2018
Dear annmmd from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The cost for four adults in a private tour depends on the location of the hotel where you are staying and what are the elements you want to combine in an excursion, for that reason all quotes are different, appropriate to the needs and expectations of each group, we appreciate your interest, but you could send your request directly via email and receive an immediate response, we appreciate your understanding.
