Lorenzo was quite helpful in arranging the booking, sending photos of the meetup location (hint: WhatsApp is a great way to connect with local businesses, and a no-cost alternative to international text messaging) Chef Claudia was the most friendly tour guide, host and teacher. On the way to the market she shared local history and showed us neighborhood gems, an unexpected bonus. The market visit gave us an authentic glimpse of Mexico. The cooking class is held at Claudia’s home with a great kitchen and dining setup for small groups. With the help of her assistant Maria, Claudia led us through a well planned and ambitious menu of traditional Mexican favorites, with insights on ingredients and techniques. We all enjoyed the fruits of our labors together, left with a packet of recipes, great memories and a new friend.

Mi Cocina es Tu Cocina translates to My kitchen is your kitchen and that is exactly the Truth. Chef Claudia welcomed us into her home for this unforgettable experience geared toward the professional or the home chef’s. We had a day long class that was very educational, fun and definitely Yummy. We arranged separate round trip transportation with Claudia from our hotel which was cheaper then the taxi we took down the street earlier in the week.
We started off on the patio with Day of the dead bread and Mexican coffee as we learned about this holiday and some of the traditions. We then went in for “class”, overview of variety of peppers was presented as we ate a fruit salad prepared by Chef’s assistants. We learned why different regions of Mexico had different foods and presentations, how this happened in earlier years. Very educational experience.
Then the aprons came out, it was my spouse and I another couple with there adult daughter, 5 in all. We made 4 types of salsa. We all made one except for Hubby, but he didn’t escape. He was up for the tortilla’s next. We then learned about Masa as the assists prepared Burritos a from the tortillas we made. We snacked on those with our salsas.
Next up Mexican tamales from Oaxaca with banana leaves. As those were steaming. I was chosen for the soup course, sooo good. Creama Poblano. The assistants were busy making chicken pastor. Throughout the class we would learn about, make and taste a variety of Mexican dishes.
We finished up with a lunch that we all had a hand in making. It was delicious. We ate so much we had to cancel our dinner reservations Lol. Please note my husband is allergic to tomatoes which is very prevalent in Mexican cooking. Chef Claudia took the time to tailor the class with my husband in mind, 2 of the salsas had no tomatoes and she prepared him a different side dish. We were sent home with all of our recipes to enjoy.
Hands down this was the best tour we have ever done, educational, interactive and just plan Fun. I feel like Claudia is my Mexican cousin and I am going to visit again. Thank you Chef Claudia, Lorenzo and your lovely assistants, Patricia y Roberto from Indiana

Claudia was an amazing tour guide and chef. We had a lot of fun learning to make authentic Mexican food and can’t wait to share with friends and family back home.

We brought our two teens along with minimal cooking experience and they feel like they can make these recipes at home too! The rice pudding was the star of the meal.

We highly recommend!

We were a group of 5 who attended the class in Claudia's lovely home. There were approximately 12 all together in the group. We had some amazing food while learning not just about cooking, but also the culture of Mexican food. There were hands on experiences, some individually and some the entire group. We were given the menus and recipes to take home, and took lots of notes. Claudia had some of the ingredients for sale, and gave us tips on where to find other ingredients. I would highly recommend this for cooks and for people who enjoy good eating!

We had a very nice cooking class with Claudia and her staff. Everything was well organized and the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed and friendly. Claudias garden is beautiful and the food was really good.

We took the class on the last day of our trip, but I would recommend to go during the first days so that you have time to utilize what you learned.

We really enjoyed this! We were a group of 2 couples. I found out about it on trip advisor. We thought it would be something different than what we normally do (fishing, Isla, etc). I reached out by email and got a response from Lorenzo (Claudia’s husband). Great communication to plan it. It’s at their lovely home in downtown Cancun. They provide transportation for $12/person round trip (which is a minimal cost). We got picked up at 9 am. and dropped off around 4 pm. It is quite a long day. We are sun people and I wish I could have planned this on a rainy day. ;) Quite a few of the other guests had done class before. They said Lorenzo normally does the beginning part (history) but our trip was just Claudia doing it all. When we arrived we sat out on her lovely porch for churros and amazing coffee. Then went in for history. It was good but around hour and half. Informative Then came the fun part. Hands on. Claudia had girls working on prep behind her as she talked and we began the lesson. There was A LOT of food we got to eat at the end. We finished up with some tequila. Claudia was just delightful and we learned so much. I will be making my own tortillas and tamales soon!

We have visited Cancun annually for the last 8 years. This is always the highlight of our stay. Claudia welcomes you into her house and you spend the day learning about Mexican culture, cuisine of the different regions, local techniques and preparations. The day concludes with a feast not to be missed. Menus have been different each time we visit and we always learn something new. Classes include participation and a packet of recipes for you to try at home.

This is a very unique experience and highly recommended. Perfect for cooks, “foodies”, or anyone that enjoys local foods.

If you are in Cancun, you 100% need to do this! Claudia and her family welcomed us into her home for this class. The company was great and the food was even better!

I cannot say enough good things about this experience. To start, the communication was kind of slow but once we got a date scheduled everything fell into place. They helped us to arrange transportation and when we ran into some trouble at the hotel with our schedule and had to move some things around, they were incredibly accommodating in helping us move the date and time of our cooking class.

When we got there, we were greeted with an appetizer of fresh fruit and tea. Followed by the cooking class which included education about different foods across Mexico, types of peppers and different preparations, and much more. We then made Yukatan style tamales, 5 different salsas, and Chilaquiles. They also had beer and rice pudding for those that wanted it. They even sent us home with a small cook book of recipes including some we didn't make so we can try them in the future.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes to eat and especially for those who like to cook! This was my mom's favorite activity of our entire vacation! Thank you again to Claudia and her family and friends for making it such an amazing experience!

I took my first class with Claudia back in 2018, and I have taken one each time I have returned to visit Cancun. Her home is beautiful, her lessons are thorough, her assistants are sweet, and the food prepared is delicious. On our last visit, we even got 2 "DVD EXTRAS" (1) when another chef she knows stopped by her house to prepare paella, and (2) a mescal distiller came over and educated us on the history and process of making this particular beverage. I have brought 2 friends with me after my first visit, and both of them have loved the class as much as I have. I can't wait for my next visit!
