All-Inclusive Chichen Itza, Valladolid with Cenote Swim & Mexican Buffet

1,039 reviews
Chichen Itza is an ancient Maya city in Mexico that was abandoned in the 15th century. Now a UNESCO World Heritage-listed archaeological park, its intact temples, and famous stepped pyramids may be explored during this comprehensive guided tour, which tops off fun-filled history lessons with a visit to the colonial town of Valladolid and a swim in a sacred limestone waterhole. A savory buffet lunch is also included.

Scheduled for Can Cook in Cancun for Thursday September 24, 2020. So excited because we have done this kind of thing before and really loved it. Scheduled through Trip Advisor and received on line confirmation and etickets. The website said we could schedule transportation through them so we emailed them, but never got a response. That should have been a sign. Thursday morning we figured out the address with the help of the hotel concierge and got in a cab. The cab ride there was 400 pesos or $20 USD. When we arrived there was no sign or indication we were at correct address. After knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell - to no avail - we called the number on the website. They answered and said they were out of town. Fortunately our cab driver waited as we were deep in a Cancun neighborhood. Might have been hard to get a ride back to hotel zone. After 800 pesos ($40 USD) we were back at the hotel with 2 hours and plans for the day blown. The owner apologized and agreed to refund our tickets ( thank you). But we are still out $40 and plans for the day. Disappointing for sure.

WE ARE SO SORRY ABOUT THIS TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WE MADE YOU GO THROUGH, and understand you being so disappointed. We have been in business for many years and our main goal is to make our costumers have a great time. We where not going to be in town that day and called Viator to block those dates. There was a problem with the comunication between us and the dates where not blocked. I hope you can accept our apoligies and if you ever come back to Cancún and still want to take a class with us, we would like to do something special for you. Sorry again, Claudia & Lorenzo Celis

We were a group of 5 who attended the class in Claudia's lovely home. There were approximately 12 all together in the group. We had some amazing food while learning not just about cooking, but also the culture of Mexican food. There were hands on experiences, some individually and some the entire group. We were given the menus and recipes to take home, and took lots of notes. Claudia had some of the ingredients for sale, and gave us tips on where to find other ingredients. I would highly recommend this for cooks and for people who enjoy good eating!

A friend and I had a wonderful day with Claudia, learning about Mexican food, what is unique, and where certain foods originate from. We enjoyed the hands-on approach. Claudia took time in the beginning of the day to get to know us. Then she gave us an informative history of Mexican cuisine. It wasn't long before we were helping make our meal. The hands-on approach was a lot of fun, and everyone in our group participated eagerly. Claudia shared information about tequila and we all had an opportunity to try several types. And our meal was fabulous. Claudia was very willing to answer any of our questions. We left with recipes to try on our own. It was a fabulous day.
