My husband and I spent three days experiencing the best of the waters off Cancun thanks to Miguel’s wonderful planning and care. We snorkeled with whale sharks and manta rays one day and the boat crew was superb! From the energy and excitement of the whale sharks and manta rays to the unforgettable lunch, it was only a 5 star experience. The next two days were spent with dive master Luis showing us the underwater statues, San Francisco Wall and the beautiful reefs and aquatic life through out. Luis did an incredible job pointing out things we might have missed and keeping us safe during the dives. The standard has been set very high for any other diving experiences. You won’t be disappointed with these guys!

This was my second time doing the whale shark excursion in with Divepro Cancun. Both times were excellent. Miguel is always quick to respond to emails. The tour is organized well and the guides are great. The experience itself is incredible. It is a once in a lifetime experience you must do if you are in Cancun during the summer. I've also been diving with this company in the past. I give them an A+. The company is professional and will take care of you. I also did the whale shark excursion with a different company the year before I went with Divepro Cancun. The difference was night and day and Divepro was by far the better company all around. Thank you Divepro Cancun! I will see you again in the future and recommend you without reservations!

This review is for the dive shop. They have a great dive shop in the downtown area and found the prices to be reasonable and the service very good. My wife needed a new mask and the staff really helped her find the right one. We also bought some accessories along with dive logbooks.

We scheduled a total of 4 days diving 2 tank dives. My brother needs a larger tank because he sucks air and this was the 1st time in the 5 times we’ve been to Cozumel that he had to pay extra $15/tank. Were nitrox certified and our package includes this but guess what, their nitrox is broken so we didn’t get nitrox. Were very experienced divers so were not taxing on the dive master’s but your shuffled to a different boat each day with a different dive master. Dive master really don’t care to make the underwater experience enjoyable as they just float around. They don’t really work for tips because they get new divers each day. In the 4 days we did 2 tank dives = 8 dives. Out of the 8 dives we went to maybe 4 different dive sites because they kept on going back to the same sites and there are a ton of different sites, but they choose to stay close to the resort. You think this sounds bad it gets worse. We scheduled a night dive and they required us to pay cash. They do night dives on M,W,F. We got there late Tuesday, so we schedule our night dive for Friday. They told us they required 6 people to go. No problem. Friday comes and they don’t have 6 people, so they cancel the dive. They would not refund us the money. They said they told us they needed 6 people, but we didn’t think they would keep our money if they cancelled the dive. So, they stole $79 from both of us. They said they would give us a voucher, or we could use it in their store (which they had no store). Their store consisted of 1 black tee-shirt that was left over from some group activity with whale sharks. We were out $138. That is steeling when we purchased night diving service and they canceled because they didn't have 6 people diving. Just give us our money back!

From the moment I reached out to DivePro I was answered promptly by Miguel Cachoa. He stayed in touch with me by email every step of the way. We booked a combined refresher for the family and a discover scuba for our one uncertified friend. Lars was our instructor and guide. After our brief review we headed over to Isla Mujeres. We dove the statues and then Manchones reef. Both great fun shallow dives. Lars was a great guide. We left our fins with him so as not to have to lug them back to the hotel. Sadly our plans to dive more were interrupted by Hurricane Zeta. Lars came all the way our to our hotel to return them. What a great guy! We will be back to Cancun during whale shark season and book all of our dives through divePro Cancun. And yes - all payment is " cash only" so plan ahead when you book.

Setup a last minute dive by Whatsapp with dive pro and was a shake down dive for new equipment. Was assigned a one on one session with Lars..
Top notch from beginning to end.. The organization by Whatsapp couldn't have easier with very clear details given. Lars was a superb dive buddy and dive lead. Very very clear information and management of the dive.
Cannot rate more highly in a one to one scenario.. Check these guys out if you need to dive in Cancun

A friend and I just recently returned from completing our PADI Certification in Cancun with DivePro Cancun. Prior to going to Cancun we had arranged to do our open water check-out dives with Miguel based on the great reviews we read on here (tripadvisor). Miguel was quick in responding and answering all our questions prior to leaving for Cancun. He scheduled the dives on the days of our choice as well as arranged a driver to pick us up at our hotel. The service we received during our 2 days of diving (4 dives in total) was amazing (5 Star). Upon meeting Miguel the first day, we knew we had made the right choice. He is personable and very well spoken (english and spanish), he sat with us and explained exactly what would be required in order to complete our certification. He was very knowledgeable and always ready to assist if there were any questions or concerns. Miguel retrieved all the equipment for us and ensured that the equipment fit properly. The boat Miguel took us on for the dives was big and safe. The dives themselves were spectacular. Miguel took us on a tour of two seperate reefs over the two days while completing the skills required for certification (this made the final checkout much more enjoyable than expected). While under water Miguel went out of his way to ensure our safety by staying close by and monitoring us while still allowing us freedom to have fun. He would also point out any interesting fish or corals as he would pass by (this was good because some of them were camo fish and we would have never have even noticed them if it wasn"t for Miguel's sharp eyes). The colleagues that assisted Miguel were also all top notch and very friendly. This was my first time scuba diving in the ocean and I have to say it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life thanks to Miguel. I will definitely be returning to Cancun and now that I am a Certified Open Water PADI Scuba Diver, I will be sure to call up Miguel and schedule some dives. In conclussion, if you are looking to go diving in Cancun whether you're a beginner to the sport or super experienced please look no further than Miguel with DivePro Cancun. Thanks again Miguel!!

My family of 4 dove with divePro last week, and it was one of the best operations I have used in 30 years of diving. They were professional, competitively priced, honest, and pleasant. Miguel was my pre-trip point of contact, Keila was my onsite contact, and Lars was our dive guide. I was very happy with the quality and the speed at which all three performed their jobs.
After visiting their website, I still had many questions, and Miguel answered my multiple emails swiftly and completely. He was booked for our trip dates, but then emailed us back within hours that he had done some rearrangement to accommodate us.
He was very patient with me, as I was recently scammed online for accommodations, and was ultra-paranoid about getting scammed again by people posing as others and/or misrepresenting their offerings. He provided any info I requested (and more!) and held our tentative reservations while I attempted to find alternate accommodations (without me expecting he would, which was appreciated during peak New Year's season).
Their pricing is not fixed - it depends on the season, and the number of divers in your party. They provide personalized service that other cattle boats do not, with a max of 4 divers per guide. For us, their pricing was competitive ($75USD/2 tank local morning reef dives + $3USD one-time park fee), and it included all equipment except an optional shorty wetsuit ($8USD). They did not require a deposit, unlike most operators. Miguel is honest and very customer service oriented.
When we arrived at the affiliated location (ScubaPro Cancun), Lars greeted us initially, with his infectiously-happy personality. Similarly, Keila was pleasant and professional as she went over the required forms, C-Cards and handled the money, while Lars visually evaluated us (quite accurately for our sizes!) and gathered up needed equipment. The billing was as expected from Keila, due to good communication from Miguel. Their methods were like a well-tuned machine, and it was refreshing to waste no time at all and be on the boat within 20 minutes, with decent-quality, good-fitting gear which took almost no effort on our part. That showed experience, and a desire for great customer service.
I regret that I did not note the name of the boat, but both docked were large, and well-appointed for diving. There were two side-entries, and two rear ladders for getting back in. Ice cold water was provided (dispenser with cone cups), but no other beverages or snacks. I think we were allowed to bring our own, but we didn't see a need. The Captain and mates were helpful.
Lars was the best guide ever, hands down. We were a mixture of experienced and beginner divers, so he had a challenge there, AND the current was exceptionally strong that day (my husband and I even had a hard time with it). He asked and answered questions, and completely took care of transferring our equipment to the second tank, and removing/packing/hauling our rental equipment.
Our reefs were at 55 feet, so bottom time was 45 minutes (limited by the air supply of one daughter). The other 2 groups on the boat did their own itinerary, with all 3 groups inflating a flag for pick up wherever they ended up. This allowed groups to spread out, and to have varying lengths of time at depth. I hadn't seen the vertical inflatable flags used before, and it worked well for having groups of divers of varying experience levels.
The strong current/slight surface wait for boat pickup caused sea sickness for two of us, and we opted not to return the next day only because dive conditions looked to be the same or worse. Current varies widely, and apparently we just had an unlucky week of strong wind/current. Keila and Miguel handled the day-before-cancellation well.
The water temperature was about 79 degrees at the surface, and my husband and I comfortably dove 12/30/14 in just dive skins, while our teen daughters (not much body fat) needed wetsuits. My daughter dove the first tank in just her bikini but was cold, and she had to put on my 3mm between dives. The other daughter rented a shorty for both dives and was fine.
I was pleasantly surprised that the reef was in good condition, with a medium amount of coral and fish. We saw one small black-tip shark, but the highlights of both dives were seeing eagle rays (1 on the first dive at Grampin and 2 together on the second dive at Herradura). I didn't see my first eagle ray until I had about 50 dives, so my daughters don't know how lucky they are seeing them on their 10th dive.
I will definitely use divePro when we return to Cancun, and would recommend them to beginner or experienced divers. I will also ask for Lars, hoping he is still there!

Hats off to Miguel and his whole team for giving us a ton of great dives. My girlfriend and I decided to go with Dive Pro after reading all of the reviews and they were all spot on. We took the PADI elearning course at home and planned to get our open water certification once we got to Cancun. Miguel made that all possible by arranging our dives. He provided transportation, gear, and everything we needed.
Unfourtunately, Miguel hurt his foot and could not dive with us when we went, but he set us up with Lars and Kelia to give us the 1 on 1 attention to make sure we fully understood all of the procedures and concepts clearly. They also did a good job making my girlfriend feel comfortable and safe because she was a little nervous. We loved it so much that we ended up doing some extra dives while we were down there. Our only regret is that we did not have enough time to do more diving with them.
I look forward to continuing my scuba education with Miguel and his team every time I get down there (which is annually) and I hope you all make the same choice we did. You will love it. Miguel is great with email communication and easy to work with. His rates are excellent. It seems like he cares more about business tomorrow than business today, and he creates lifelong customers.

My buddy and I used Miguel's services to do our PADI checkout dives. Our main motivation for going with Miguel was the reasonable rate and the reviews on this site. From the very beggining he was acted in the utmost professional manner, contacted us once we got there, and was focused on aleviating any possible concerns and ensuring we had a pleasureful experience. Both days we went there were other groups on the boat, I was glad we went with Miguel the entire time. It's not that the other groups got bad service, but we were treated that much better! He took care of everything, asked us which specific dive sites we wanted to go to and made sure we made the best of our time underwater. He pointed out lots of intresting ecology and obviusly knew these sites like the back of his hand. The entire time we were with him his main focus was that you had a good time. I'm using his services next time I go to Cancun and would highly recommend him to anyone planning on giving there.

Hello, I arrive in Cancun on April 26th and I leave on May 05. We are 3, and we reside at the Beach Palace. We would like to take a pack of 4 or 5 dives for the three of us. My wife is CMAS level 1. I'm OWD. My daughter has to do her 4 dives in natural environment to validate her OWD. I would like to know if it is possible? Thank you very much

Buenas!!!
Muchas gracias!!!! Saludos!!!

We are looking for a good scuba diving company for Friday June 17. There will be 3 divers and one non diver. Is the rate the same for the non diver? Do you offer transportation to the dock or suggestions on how much it would cost to get to the boat dock?

would like to know how much time would be required to get wreck diver and cave diver certification? I currently hold an advanced open water certification.

HI Mark, I am wondering about the equipment you used for your daughter's certification dives. Our entire family dives and now we are sharing the sport with our two grandsons. (10 and 12) They will be doing the pool/classroom portions here in Colorado and the open waters in Cancun in June. Your post really encouraged me because I was worried about them being overwhelmed with a bunch of adults. Did you rent your equipment before you went or does the staff have child sized equipment I just spoke with our dive shop and the cost to rent for a week and we don;t need that much time, let alone the hassle of transporting it. Thanks!!!!!
